So I was thinking about new option and an option I would really like is the option to turn off creeper explosion damage. It's really annoying when you make a map full of traps and houses so I think it would be a good option. This option wouldn't turn off the blast but it would stop the blast from destroying blocks. So players would still get damaged by the blast. Tell me what you think

I'm actually okay with this.
Cause I despise working hard and building a house a specific way only to have a creeper come up behind me, destroy my house and kill me in the process and destroy my bed at the same time and have me spawn across the world!
Why not just build a fence around where you're working, or have a cat or two nearby? Alternatively you could just play in Peaceful. If you're playing in any difficulty with creepers, you should be aware of what they can do and take appropriate measures to prevent things you don't want to happen from happening.
I mean if you're caving and a creeper drops down suddenly from somewhere and blows up, that's one thing; but if you're working on your house/structure, and THAT isn't creeper-proof, well that's a pretty bad structure, I'm sorry...
I'm not trying to be mean, but I just don't really see the point of this option. If you don't like creeper explosions, there's already Peaceful mode.

Iam talking about using this on servers. Cause I built a huge mansion and your supposed to survive in pitch black and find chest to survive and eventually make it to the top of the mansion. I've setup several traps in rooms and its just really annoying when Iam playing and a creep blows up the trap and the wall letting light in to the mansion. I could care less if I were in survival and got blown up cause that's how the game is in survival but when you want to make your own mini games its annoying
I support this. this makes sense for player created maps where you want dangerous MOBS to spawn on the other players with out allowing the players to potentially circumvent the design of the game by using a creeper as mobile TNT to blow their way around one of your obstacles (physical barriers) that you had setup for those players.
I'd go so far as to extend this to include restricting Endermen from moving blocks too.
Since I know what it is like to have stuff blown up from time to time by a random creeper, this is a goof idea. I made a huge netherack house in the sky because I use the Halloween texture pack for one world and the netherack looks cool. But it gets blown up here and there. But I am going to end my rambling.
Has anyone here used the /gamerule command? That would be what you are looking for.
'/gamerule MobGriefing false' should do it.
You can also turn off the spreading of fire with '/gamerule DoFireTick false'
And this is permanent unless you change it to true.

Yea, but we're talking about xbox 360 edition. lol

how the hell does a creeper end up in the sky on top of netherrack? Lol
I think what the OP is referring to would be something like the mobgriefing gamerule from the PC version. Being able to change the gamerules is great for shared maps, which the XBox version doesn't (and won't, thanks to Microsoft policies) have. It sounds like a good idea for servers, though.
I don't think the OP wanted to turn off mobGriefing so much as to prevent mobGriefing from doing area damage to structures and such.
ie. I suspect that he's ok with the Creeper exploding and doing damage to the players just so long as it left his structures and buildings intact, and same with the endermen, ok if they attacked, just stop moving the blocks around.
Agreed, we should have a mobgriefing off option for player created worlds. I dont know how they'd choose to implement it though. My first thought was it would turn off achievements for survival or be only for worlds started in creative.
As I was typing this a solution to a potential problem I was going to mention occurred to me. Players might use it for their survival worlds, but then creative mode already affords them that opportunity to "cheat" with achievements turned off, so yeah I actually don't see any problems with this.
totally support. I had this cool house made out of block of iron(made it in creative) and a bunch of creepers came and blew it up so i had to go back on creative and fix it.
