Add-ons = DLC
DLC= We have to pay
See what you have done?!
T_T the problem is... wether these suggestions get used or not... with the new update having support for Map/texture/modpacks. They will be sold as DLC so Microsoft will make another buck. And that friendo is the hard truth
The only ore I would like to see is "Malachite". In Skyrim you could use is to make Glass tools and Armor and that's what I would love to do with it! The Glass was green and very durable. I would love to see this in Minecraft, The glass equipment wouldn't be as good as Diamond equipment. But it would be almost as fast as gold equipment and last a little longer than iron equipment. It would be harder to find that iron but easier to find than gold. What do you think?
I definitely think they should add sapphires, emeralds, and the rarest of all, rubies. (Rubies ARE the rarest oes in real life.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Yesterday I was on my way to class, when a black cat fell from the sky. I didn't really know what that nonsense was about so I asked him if I could step around him because he was bad luck, but he simply meowed and then disappeared. I was a bit worried that maybe he'd teleported to Afghanistan or somewhere equally dangerous, but a wizard came and assured me that it was alright. I threw my Zune at him because I was 78% sure he was lying. The wizard roared at me and sentenced my mother to thirty five years of chain smoking. I was sad.
Im a proponent of emeralds, sapphires, and rubies because I like the idea of having some new decorative blocks to spice up my builds.
But all those other ores... Really? You kids watch a couple youtube videos and your heads explode. "I want copper to do the same exact thing as redstone." "I want to rip-off of Skyrim cos there's not enough beef between Mojang and Bethesda."
I kid, naturally. But you've got to be honest with yourselves... There is no real purpose for any of these ores besides adding extra teirs to weapons and armor. And its already be stated that is not going to happen.
The only ore I would like to see added is Silver, but only, Only, if a werewolf mob is also added to the game. Just a silver sword, no silver pick, no silver armor, no silver hoe... just a sword for fighting off werewolves (which only spawn under full moons, of course). Ah, tis a dream I have...
What was I saying?

You do realize that malachite is copper ore, right?

Also, show me the tweet that 4J put out that says that no more tiers will be added.

You know what? It is a copper ore. It's not glass, you make glass by burning sand to an extreme temperature. But Malachite if polished correctly has a high gloss potency and looks like marble. With good enough craftsmanship you could make Malachite into pretty "glass" looking vases, and other tools.
Edit: Apparently you've never played Skyrim? Malachite is used to make the lightweight green "glass" armor. If you have your blacksmith up high enough you can make it yourself using Malachite ore. I know that has nothing to do with Minecraft but in Skyrim the Armor you make using the Malachite ore is called "Glass" armor. Video games don't have to make sense... But if you want to be technical about it we could call the Armor in Minecraft "Copper Armor" but it would still be green and look like glass. It's an idea... Please instead of having me to tell you about it do some background research for yourself! Things in minecraft don't make sense either like... For Beds! No matter what color wool you use the bed always turns out red. Also why do you need a diamond to make a Jukebox? Things don't make sense in video games. And they don't have to!
Malachite is just as much glass as obsidian. You can't see through it. Cooking malachite to extreme temps creates copper. Saying malachite is glass is like saying obsidian is glass. The material glass is silicon dioxide. Every glass molecule is one silicon atom combined with two oxygen atoms. That is glass. Now malachite molecules are two copper atoms, one carbon atom, and three oxygen atoms. Very different chemical formulas. Beat that for research. I have played oblivion, which also has glass tools. I have played skyrim but I like oblivion better because I can actually read the text in oblivion.

I don't know of a quote from 4J, but I never claimed there was.
Perhaps Im wrong to repeat unfounded claims, but Ive seen enough posts from others on this forum, and elsewhere, saying that extra teirs will not be added to armor and equipment.
And honestly, Im in favor of that. Once I suggested adding a Bone armor, but have since rescinded that suggestion. It added nothing substantial to the game. Once the novelty wore off it would be another useless recipe buried in the Armor Crafting tab. And thats exactly what all these other suggestions for new ores are... useless.
If you can think of a New item that would justify adding a new ore (like comparators requiring quartz), I'll have that conversation. But until then, I'm sticking to an obstinate No!
magnetite would be a cool block, it would be rare, and if you place it in the ground it could cause iron to form around it, like that aliens vs predator mod where you put that block in the ground, and blocks around it become just like it

So you mine that iron, replace it with dirt and mine the iron again? Nope. Infinite iron without any effort at all
Exactly. If anything, it was mojang saying that no more tiers will be added to the PC version. Mojang is not in charge of the xbox version. 4J studios is.

Fair enough.
We'll just have to wait and see how 4J handles it then, hmm.

Copper
Varying crystals and gems ( quartz, emeralds, Amethyst,&ct)
Mythril
Adamantine
to minimize the list a bit

Huh? So more tiers could be added. Interesting...
