Just as the title says, we could have different types of arrows for the whole minecraft or maybe only as an MCXBLA unique feature. Like the different swords we have, we could have different types of arrows:
We could have:
1.- Stone arrows
2.- Flint arrows
3.- Iron arrows
4.- Golden arrows
5.- Diamond arrows
6.- TNT arrows
The recipe for each arrow would be the same as the normal arrow but the top would be the different part. For a stone arrow you would need 1 stone, 1 stick and 1 feather. For a flint arrow you could use the same recipe just as we have it now. And do the same for the other 4 arrows.
The only difference between each arrow would be the damage that each one will cause.
Also you would be able to enchant the arrows (as a stack).
Each type of arrows could have a special enchanting like the flint arrows could have the "fire" enchantment, the iron arrows could have the "nail" enchantment, (these enchantment will make the arrow make the same damage even if a player has armor) the diamond could have the "lighting" enchantment, (this enchantment would have the same effect as poison) the golden arrow could have the "golden touch" enchantment (1% probability on killing the victim in 1 hit), the stone arrows could have the "aero" enchantment (gravity affects less on the arrow) and the TNT arrows could have the "bigger explosion" enchantment (with this it would be the same size as a creeper explosion)
If you have any other idea for this let me know
PD: To some of you that dont know, this enchantments in here will be rare enchantments. Sometimes you will get silly enchantments like "spider ace" or "zombie ace" (depending on the name it will inflict 1 heart more of damage). Again, you can tell me some more enchantments to be changed or added
Yes they too good.
But I do support the different ways of crafting arrows soloing as damage difference remains rather small.
Would stone or gold be the weakest?

Since stone is the easiest to find, stone would be the weakest.
Gold would be better than iron but worse than diamond.
Also, if you want me to change some arrows or delete some stuff just tell me, I just want more things added to the bow because there is only the bow and arrow, in the sword you can make it of different materials.
You just got me thinking of spruce, oak and birch wood bows.
They could all be simular.y balanced seeing as their about as rare as each other.
How supple a wood is effects a bow very much.
Spruce /pine trees are very flexible being so thin and tall so they don't snap ( that could mean more durable )
I'm not too sure how birch and oak could be different ( more tense, more power, faster draw times, less drop. )

Maybe they could also resemble bows from the area of the world the tree is associated with.
Like when I think of birch I think of England which reminds me of the long bow.
Again not sure about other 2.
Just really hazey ideas.

I think they disallow aluminium bats in bigleages baseball because the amount of bounce back it has would assure every ball was out of the park.
So they stuck with the best of the best wooden bats.

Maybe you heard from same place as me coz I don't follow any baseball.
I was thinking for X bow.
Oak planks on diagonal line.
Four iron bars two each side vertically and horizontally.
Last two squares be string.
Or maybe give us bigger 4x4 crafting things on anvils.
Which could also give us longer swords like claymores.
Long weapons like polearms.
Warhammers
Battle axes
I should probably leave my weapon craziness to the there shall be war thread.

Maybe you could get this in a new thread so it can get more attention, if you want 4x4 crafting things I would like something else like a workbench or I dont know what but anvils are great for repairing things like in the PC
Maybe you could have an explosive arrow. It would make a small explosion, even smaller than a creeper's, and would be disabled when tnt explosions are disabled. You would craft it as a normal arrow and then combine it with a block of tnt.

Wat about instead of flint u use tnt.
Then the tnt would be split 4 ways.

I had another idea. A poisoned arrow. You could make two types, a splash damage one and one that would only hit one enemy. You would craft it with poison.

We already have fire and the iron arrows would be insanely OP in a battle...
Stay fluffy~

I just put that as an example, I am bad with enchantments but if you want just tell me and I change them

Hmm... awesome idea!
Also, thanks for the feedback

I was hoping crossbow would have a completely different recipe like iron arms and stuff.
Maybe oak could be recurve?

I was thinking about the recipie being like that, but i thought it would be just a bit overpowered.
Why not give arrows more drop and go slower since they'll be powerful.
It just takes a little balance.
The "fire" enchantment for the flint arrows will do that
No they don't they light mobs on fire not blocks
That is what the flame or fire or whatever enchantment for the BOW does, the "fire" enchantment for the arrows could light blocks on fire.
