Agreed, things got out of hand and it takes more than one person to create a problem so I'm sorry too for the tone of my responses and throwing gas on the fire so to speak. Although I started out with the intention of defending someone's perspective I can agree that things went too far and there were much better ways to handle the situation. I think at this point we can just agree to disagree on the topic and let the argument die, thank you for taking the first step, I will follow suit.
thank you for following as i was fearing you would have tried to continue the argument. and yes i use to defend people i didnt know too. but after so many post the forums it changes you and make you a bit ruder. like mustache guy. i remember when he use to approve of every topic. now i notice he is a bit hostile.
<----------into this after a few hundred post's -------------> and mustache has 6000 something post last time i checkedp.s i remember this because i use to have a different account before this oneand i am not saying mustache guy is rude im just saying he denies many ideas

That would be because I would like a Minecraft that isn't convoluted with a bunch of half baked features and items, much like I believe the PC version has become.
It also gets a little trying sometimes when someone just says "I want (Insert thing here)" and that is all they say. They don't say why they want it and don't give any larger details as to it's functions, uses, limits, etc. They don't create a discussion about the subject. They just make a sentence. I would image 4J would just skip most of those kinds of requests and look for people giving more fleshed out ideas.
As for this thread about world size, 4J have said time and time again that RAM is the limiting factor for the world size, yet people refuse to acknowledge it. They've also said the whole "portal at the edge of the world" idea isn't viable either. Yet people still suggest it.
(Also, I didn't have a big part in this thread. I made 7 replies, this being number 8, and there are 64 posts in this thread. I expressed my opinion, replied to someone who disagreed, and left until now)
u know what i see it not fit to be arguing this much. even though i may not approve of the idea, i am sorry for all the mayhem i have caused. i am aiming to be the better person and end the argument. last username has been the best of us all as he didnt agrue but simply suggested. and for the i thank you last username for not stooping to the level i was at.
Oh please your embarrassing me
I think all and all some pretty good points were made and hopefully 4J are paying attention to what their community are saying.

Not to take sides in any of the other stuff because I can completely understand your feelings since I too think a lot of the forum gets filled with threads about strange/absurd ideas or things that will never or can never happen, but the bigger map thing isn't entirely hopeless it just depends on the final decision regarding dedicated servers. No servers = No chance. With Servers = Slim chance.
Since 512MB of RAM is pretty much a bad joke these days console-hosted games could never be any bigger, but with dedicated servers part of the processing load could be shifted to make it more practical; basically by turning the console into a thin client for server-hosted games. 4J Studios has mentioned the possibility of rental servers on their Twitter feed so it is not a completely lost cause (just mostly lol), but I'm with you all the way in saying that it's definitely not going to happen the way most people seem to expect.
P.S. The frequently recurring "Portal" idea drives me a little nuts too lol, especially since it wouldn't even feel like "bigger" maps anyway since the parts would be so disconnected.

I feel that servers = high chance of bigger worlds.
Because like you said getting servers in place is no light job and wouldn't if you were setting them up take it that bit further to have better performance regarding player count and world size?

yes mustcahe guy i agree with you 100% but latley i have been trying not to shoot down ideas anymore. i do know what your saying and that why i was shooting down ideas too. it bugs me when they say "I WANT BUGS IN MINECRAFT!" and nothing else. if someone wants something they just need a very good reason. and its annoying how people try to spam ideas that wont work. but i shhot down ideas because i dont want people to get dissapointed when thier idea doesnt come trueP.S. the bugs in minecraft isnt a bad idea i was just using it as an example

I personally think that getting your ideas destructed by a member on the forums is a horrible experience.
Instead I prefer to compliment what I would like most from their post and suggest how I might like it better rather than just saying that I don't like it and always say IMO

yes it is but think of it this way. you have an idea..... everyone loves it.... you bring it to 4J... and all they say is "NO" then you would be even more devastated because you had such high hopes

What's the likelihood of that happening?
They'll always be Mustache guy to swat down dreams like flies with the morning paper.
To have a conversation on most forums there is usually two sides of an argument being represented, unless your role playing like I do on Forumfield OffTopic.

hey mini man no trash talking about mustache guy hes one of the guys i respect most on the minecraft forums. and if a topic can get very popular 4J can check it out and maby like the idea. as some people from Mojang come on here and they tell 4J what they see here. so if there is a topic with almost everything positive about it then 4J can take it in consideration.
