Because it is not like on PC, we can have a server and keep it running all time, so when my friends creat a really nice map and I want to keep it,I found I can't, that's a shame. Also when I co-op with my friend to build a world, and I join his sever, that means I can do nothing until his back online, that's annoying too. Therefore, I think players should able to share maps with their friends. We can do this in Minecraft P.E, why we can't do this on Xbox?
I like this idea. however this would mean people could take credit for someone elses work. It would have to have an 'Author' label which could tell players who had originally created the map. Other than that i couldn't see any other huge issues.
Yeah, like sharing maps in Halo, you could upload your maps to a community or a server, than other players could download it.

Then the problem comes when two different people try to update the same map. What happens when your friend does something to a map, then you go do something to the same map... from the same save? What happens when you guys mine the same blocks to create different things?
Having the option to save a completed map while on someone else's server would be a nice option, but it's not a valid option for an active map that 2+ people are working on.

This isthe main problem with CastleMiner Z and it's map sharing. When you end a session on CastleMiner Z that had more than one player, it gives a copy of the map to each player.
However, exactly what you said becomes a HUGE problem. One time I made something on the world just to find out hat a friend of mine had made something on his copy. We now had two different maps and neither of us wanted to give up our builds. Massive problem with that form of map sharing. Unless you literally want to make some kind of schedule as to when you want to play and who can build on the map on which days or times.
They could just make it so that guests on your map have the option to save a local copy for themselves. Add in an option to transfer hosting to your friends machine and you can let him run the server while you are gone. Solves all the problems and allows you to get your desired result without the complications of actualy transfering the map.
All you need is a USB stick formatted as a memory unit and a program for PC called Modio.
The saves ARE hard coded to your profile ID. However you can use Modio to change the profile ID, rehash and resign it, and then save it to your memory unit.
The only issue is that when you load the save, you don't get the original players inventory and you spawn at a random spot. So the original player would have to deposit their entire inventory into a chest if they want you to have the items in their inventory. And maybe tell you the coordinates of where they were when they saved the map.
And technically this isn't modding. I mean it's not like you're cheating or anything. Just enjoying someone elses creation.
