updated pics july 25 13
work in progress. this is where the broken tower used to be.
UPDATE 2
august 15
update aug 24
the new air ship station and docks.
yes the airship is ugly. its meant to be a simple design to act as a people mover. essentially its a bus... a bus that can fly.
Update jan 25 2014
just a small update jan 25, 2014. took a hiatus from the project, but i busted out quite a bit of work over the past few days. also showing off the skyrim texture in all its glory.
thanks... it resembles the stuff that's done on pc for steampunk but with my own style. im really having to wait to unleash this place cause i need the sky cap increase. floating islands, massive towers, airships, giant steam powered kaiju fighting robot of awesomeness. all things i have planned. and when i get done laying down the main infrastructure im going to b developing it into an adventure map with clues. puzzles and mysteries that must be solved.

Sounds amazing. I can't wait to see the airships and floating islands especially. I'll have to check back here, or watch for a new thread in the future
I really like the new pictures. It looks like you are using fence on the side, and that really adds a new type of texture to it. I can't wait to see more.

thanks. add me on xbox and ill give you the nickel tour. lol.
another update guys. tryin not to spam but keep you all updated on the progress been spending most of my time on this map building the new mountain range, its actually one of my favorite projects so far, im also tryig to button up a few of the things ive already started and im going to be adding the docks very soon. my ADD keeps kicking in so its hard to stay focused on one project. i think though the biggest drain on my minecraft time has been the adventure elements that you cant even see yet a few secret door concepts im working out and some puzzle ideas im working. well hope you all enjoy my latest progress report.
I wouldn't mind having a peak in "person" either. I've always wanted to build stuff like this. Steampunk builds always seem to be the most impressive to me. I just don't have the creative imagination for stuff like this. Such a shame. =[

steampunk is great it has a whimsy to it. with a touch of fantasy and real wolrd historical architecture. and it doesn't have to play by most accepted rules of architecture. want a building leaning 300 feet over a cliff held up by rope. can do. want a tower that twists. why not. a bulding larger on top than it is on the bottom. hell yes.
and there's some great source material for inspiration as well . in fact the building with the bridge and arch between it is based on original plans for the London bridge... you know before it burst into flames and what not.
being mechanically minded you could easily come up with some steampunk designs. even a steam punk computer. based more on Rube Goldberg mechanisms. and of course overly complicated piston contraptions always make me think of steampunk. im trying to figure out a bridge design right now. the raw mechanics are easy the logic behind it not so much.
and sure thing. id be glad to give you a tour as well, and in fact i was gonna see if you and overlooked wanted to contribute to the redstone. i know we had talked about it for my other steampunk build, but i figured you were still busy with computer

It's actually pretty funny you mentioned that. In the beginning of Project XENON, I actually thought about making it appear to be water-cooled.

I am... sort of. I've gotten burned out on it repeatedly. It's actually ridiculously close to being finished now. I just haven't taken the time for any screenshots or videos. I wouldn't mind helping you out, it's so lonely working on XENON.

lol. i thought that said water colored for a while there, you can tell i just woke up. lol, thats exactly the kid of thing im talking about...... you could even put a netherrack block that gets lit on fire every once in a while and have it get put out by a water blade, you couldcall it the '360' chip, lol.

yea i know what you mean. ive gotten burned out on this map so many times. thats why i started the grifball mini game, i even read the hunger games while taking a break from it. it does suck doing everything solo that alone can be draining.
also. ill make sure to leave space for the people who help me. there's lots of room for air ships and im planning an island area with lots of houses so there should be plenty of places to practice your steampunk bulds.
hey guys. i appreciate the attention the map is getting. and the interest you guys are showing. but please comment on here and refrain from sending me messages on xbox live. the map is no were near ready for general public tours, and im only planning to let a select few people i associate with onto the map until its a bit more polished.
the best start is with a dialogue on here, and maybe ill give you a tour. or even help with the build. just dont send me a ton of messages saying. "show me your world" or "can i build on your world". no worries to those who already have, like i said i really appreciate the kind comments and the attention my build is getting its just not a good time to public tours.
chances are if im online and not in a party theres a reason for it, i tend to be very quiet when im building, also i dont have much time to work on my builds so when i get the chance i try and squeeze as much build time out of the day as possible and i tend to be a bad host when i have so many other things on my mind.
not trying to be a jerk but remember im working on my schedule not yours.
but dont worry im keeping you guys in mind and when its at a point i feel is presentable ill be more than happy to set up some time to show you guys around. maybe ill start a large party and take a few at a time idk yet.
I apologize for the message. Didn't think about the attention you'd be getting I really like the style and the terrain you're building is amazing. Keep it up!

no worries. i was shocked lol. since it didn't get much attention when i started it i wasn't expecting the 6 friend requests and messages when i updated it and went online. I'm definitely gonna make some time for all of you, i just want it to be a little further along since there really isn't anything new to show.
and thanks again, I'm glad you liked the terrain im pretty happy with it myself, especially since i had no idea what i was doing.
