spacing out the glowstone seems to work pretty well. for ground affect i tuck them under leaves and thy will cast a nice beam up around 7 blocks. putting one in a wall you want lit will usually light up a round area with a diameter of around 5 blocks. other than that im still working. my pagoda house is rediculous to light. its basically 30x30 cube.
Yeah, the thing is that I have a rather large build that requires several stacks of glowstone to be lit up completely, and it just seems like overkill even though any less wouldn't light it up well. Imagine your 30x30 cube being a 75x75x50 castle. I'm not sure about the exact measurements, but you get the idea.
Placing glowstone under leaves sounds like a good idea, though. Thanks for the tip.

well with something that large id place columns and chandaliers to help light it. and i could easily place glowstone in the building im just not particularly fond of its texture so i try to hide it as much as possible. i did build a 3 teir firepit in the center that looks rather nice. and helps a little.
placing it under leaves is far better than placing it under glass. for some reason it doesnt defuse as much.
The sphere NEVER gets old! LOL The trick to that one is getting the feel of the town just right with that ancient alien tech in the center of it.
yea im working on the city right now. im figuring out an archway to go over the road and the round buildings directly adjacent to the sphere. its looking ok so far.
Updated my projects list to include my new secret storage area. and my nearly complete god tree. also will be adding my skysrapper luxury apartment building with personal penthouse as soon as its at least half way complete. may be waiting till the update since i may need more sky box to build in.
I love God Trees. One of my favorite things people make in Minecraft. I've seen some insane ones on the PC.
Agreed, that is the plan for my survival world with 1.8.2. A god tree home base....will be a bit difficult to build legit but always nice to have a challenge.

god trees can be as easy and as difficult as you want. this ones pretty simple and it can be dificult to do legit. this one is infact almost 100% legit. wood i collected from farms over the month or so i had the game before the project and the leaves i just took the leaves off of trees. they are quick to collect. and its a good idea to build one where there are a lot of trees. so you can collect any secondary supplies. look up block fortresses god tree vids. there are some good tutorials to get you started, but you also got to play with other tree ideas. like the tree from avatar(the one with blue aliens). its one ive got on my back burner or the one from the swamp in the avatar (the one without the blue aliens) .
I really like your airships. They look so dang cool!
thanks. i am rather proud. and though bower wolf will always be special since it was my first im really happy with how requin (which is french for shark in case anyone was wondering) turned out. it took forever to come up with a design that worked.... though the dirigible on that one isn't solely my design. ill try and figure out who did it but its part of their ship called the dawntreader not to be confused with the one from Narnia. other than that though its all my design. and just wait till you see cathulu the iron war ship. it will be able to fit the other 2 inside it... and you'll still be able to play a game of polo in the hanger. itll also feature a cathulu head along its bow to strike fear in its enemies
