I made a maze, a really big maze. Now because of void fog being able to be disabled/enabled by anyone. My maze is ruined. Because people can cheat. So, with the addition of void fog I had to destroy my 100x100x10 city at bedrock. And then make it a maze. Now, I have to destroy the maze. And make it a city again.
I believe if the host wants it to be optional for players. (s)He can make it that. But if he wants no one seeing void fog or everyone seeing void fog. (s)He should have that option too.
See the problem here?
Now I know the update isn't out. But I still have to go through this process once it does go out.
Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.
Just enable void fog and watch them through a hidden room through a glass. Not only that but you don't even need to see them. Just make a iron door on the entrance to the maze and make them unable to mine anything so they HAVE to find a way out.

You don't know what my maze is.
It is a 100x100x10 maze at bedrock I made BEFORE 1.82. It does not work like that. And people can cheat because you are supposed to have your gamma on 80% (easy) 50% with void fog(medium) 15% with void fog (hard) with void fog.
And if you do hard you gotta have proof. Meaning record it with your camera or something.

There is something called LIEING.
Like I said, I'll do it. Would make a pretty interesting youtube video.
Of course they could cheat, but it doesn't really matter. People can cheat on adventure maps. And some of them do, but it's only ruining the experience for themselves. People who build adventure maps know this, but they don't destroy their challenges because of it. If everyone scrapped an idea because cheating is possible, games wouldn't even exist.
I campaigned hard for the void fog toggle (due to vision questions). However, I agree with the OP and I'm really, REALLY, surprised that (as rumored) turning off void fog doesn't also disable leaderboards and achievements.
We don't really know exactly how this one is going to work yet, so I'd at least wait until after the update is released before getting up in arms about it and destroying your maze. Perhaps 4J is considering that vision issues are a personal thing; so they may have given each person the ability to turn the void fog off just for them own viewpoint, allowing other players in the game at the same time to see the void fog. Perhaps the host would then get a notification if any individual player turned their void fog off, so that the host can then decide whether or not to disqualify that player (if the maze is going to be run as a competition). If the toggle turns the void fog off for everyone, then it should probably be controlled by the host (and it may actually be that way since the change log does not specify it one way or the other).
I understand that some people might cheat; but I think that the majority of people who voluntarily join a map to try out a maze that is dependent on void fog being there would leave the void fog on; particularly if there's no incentives for completing the maze other than just the thrill of having done it. For me and my issues with the particle F/X giving me headaches, I just would not be able to even consider trying your maze. I wouldn't see a point in "cheating" at it, so I'd just stay out of it.
This toggle will make things far more comfortable for me and I'm grateful for it. Since this update has come out, I've be avoiding doing absolutely anything below level 12 and really limit my time below level 16; whereas before I spent most of my time in those lower layers of the map.
You know, i'm just stating my opinion. If the host wants people to be able to choose, that is fine. I just want more power to the host.

Lol, I think the host has enough power. He gets to control the game pretty much, which is good. They don't need anymore privileges. Most hosts now are acting liking jerks. (Disable you to mine or hurt anyone and they keep killing you over and over with a diamond sword.)
By the way, don't you just have to enable bedrock void mist? I mean surely you won't be able to see but still. By the way, why do you want to be able to see without the mist? Are you gonna kill them with a diamond sword if they go to the wrong place in the maze?

you have already said about recording the hard, just make them record the lot, you already HAD the lieing prevention mentioned.
The game host's setting for bedrock fog is used for all players in the game.
Thanks padware. OP, it looks like your worries are for nothing. We both should be happy; and your maze should be awesome. I'm sorry I just won't be able to try it out.

No, but if void fog is disabled on the maze. The maze can be turned out easy. It took me about 2 hours to defeat medium on the maze when I deleted my cache and went back to 1.6. Then I went to medium in 1.82. It took me 5 hours. (I timed, I played about an hour, then the next day I played another hour, I didn't play 5 hours straight) I have not been able to defeat hard. None of the testers can either. But I need to modify the maze a tiny bit before I open it to the public. Should take another month or so. Depends on my schedule.

Thank you for clearing that up. Guess I don't have to get rid of maze I just need a few tweaks.
