why do we need an HD TV. i bought this game for splits screen and you took it out. trust me its not fun fighting on who gets to play for an hour. so 4J studios let us play splitscreen
If they let you play split-screen on an SD TV you'd then be complaining about how you can't see jack . If you want to play split-screen, get that other person to help invest in an HDTV. If you and/or them don't have a job because you're too young or whatever then just be grateful for what you have.

They did offer refunds to people who bought minecraft xbox edition for playing split screen only to find out they needed an HDTV. When it was first released it never stated that you needed an HDTV that is why they decided to refund buyers. You shouldve taken up on this offer long ago, and if you had bought it recently then you should've read the info cause it now says you need HDTV to play split.
HDTV is the way of games now .. you don;t see jack with old junk TV's .. everything looks dated on them. since going HDTV Ive never gone back and considering how cheap HDTV are and how much damn easier they are to carry compared .. go hd .. don;t be a cheapskate,
The reason Minecraft on the Xbox is so limited is all because of split screen Just imagine on your PC running a server & having 4 minecrafts open. That's CPU murder.

If you'd like. I'll take you to a special place in town. A place where all your wishes come true.
You really can't compare the cost of a house to the cost of an HDTV
You can actually. I'm in the same boat. A decently sized HDTV is about $300 to $400. That's $300-$400 that I could be using towards rent, especially since we have a new baby and my wife's health prevents me from going back to work. Luckily I traded an old fish tank for an older HDTV, but it works with a composit cable
I really cant understand how some people are still using rubbish SD tvs in 2012?
you can pick up a cheap 2nd hand LCD 22inch for under 100 or a new one for 150...
Because that is all that is affordable at the moment since it is what was handed down. Bills are more important than some tv that the true only difference is legibility on the screen. Everything else is easy to see. It is the games that focus on HD this and that that cause the illegible stuff to a point. However Most games I have played i can actually read so that rules that out.
I just don't understand the "Need" for HD. I "Need" other things before something that i have already a comparable one, even if it is SD. I can still play and watch tv on it. There really is not much difference in that respect.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Thats almost like saying theres not much difference from a car from the 90s and todays cars which there is MASSIVELY!
its called progress and trust me as soon as i got my HD and compared it next to my Tube TV quality the tube went outside with a please take me sign on it, and surprisingly no one took it apart from the rubbish man a week later
if times are that bad id think about cancelling your internet and tv licence plus selling your phone would be a good idea too...
eh yeah... 90s care compared to today's cars.. not much difference beyond how much more repulsive the exteriors are on them now.
I have seen HD tvs I have seen low qualty hd, high quality hd, and to me there is not much difference. Quality sometimes doesn't matter... That is like saying graphics in a game matters, so if it is not all 3d then it is pointless to play. I am sure to some it does matter, but to me Quality in tv at the moment does mean graphics, as all hd does is make things a bit more crisp. Big deal. so what in my opinion. Would i ever go back to an SD after having a HD for a while. I would say yes, especially when that tv goes out.
To compare something in a decades length is futile as there are only minor changes in my opinion. However the industry has changed in its own right. But nothing ground breaking as it was 50-70 years ago. Now if it was a Black N White monochrome tv then I would understand why people would want to switch up, as that adds color. Right now my eye sight is well enough that i don't "Need" a HD tv, as per what i mentioned, all it really does is make things supposedly crisper. Well there is not much difference, since i can read on both screen and determine objects on each fairly well.
Basically it is like Resolution, since that for an HD tv apparently matters too. 720p is standard or the base you should even have, at least with minecraft. I do have a HD tv but doesn't work with multiplayer due to the fact it only handles 480p and does not support the 720p. Of course this does not mean i would go out of my way to get an HD tv just for one game. That is like saying i would get kinect for just one game. It just doesn't make sense. Sure it may or may not make life better. Won't make my life any better or easier. It just adds value. that is all...

Yes, you can compare costs of any items, we all know that. Mustache_Guy was referring to the difference, $300-400 for a HDTV compared to thousands for a house. He wasn't being literal.

Best Buy: 29" LCD-720p-60hz-HDTV - $180
If you can afford an Xbox 360, games, cable/satellite TV, DVDs, etc, etc, you can afford an HDTV. It's very easy to save up for one.
Also, your Xbox 360 and Minecraft combined cost more than a decent HDTV nowadays.
I mean does it matter?
i would rather have a house than a hd tv

Blame yourself not 4j.
Do you really expect split screen to be playable in sd..
I'm sure it's the xbox's limitation mainly.
