Honestly, slime farms are not worth the trouble. I built one legit a while ago and it yielded a very large output of slimeballs, but took ages to make, and in the end I had nothing to do with all the loot. It took me nearly a week to build and in that time I could have just killed enough slimes to get all the slimeballs I'd ever need... I'm not saying you shouldn'f build one, I'm just saying be prepared to use A LOT of time on it. The only reason I'd ever build another one would be for bragging rights.
When xp comes they provide a good xp farm, because a little slimes are so easy to kill. So there is good outcomes, plus all the resources you get from mining out the areas.
Very true. I have almost full chest and Im thinking now that i have them, do really need this much? But i know i will be making a bunch of sticky pistons
Very nice guide. Bout to start the excavating for my slime farm but I'm not 100% I'm reading the slime finder right. Some clarification would be nice if anyone is willing to help. My seed is 808 and my map center is X=0 Z=48, It shows two chucks near the center but I'm not sure what coords to dig from. If anyone would like to help or give some incite hit me up on xbox.
From utter scratch, on a new map with co's to dig, it takes 1 and 40 minutes to dig out 4 chunks or(32x32x3) starting at layer y-12. You will gather some really nice supplies.
The whole drive for slimes for most are sticky pistons. I truely hope after collecting a couple of chest of slime you all remember to have an equal amount of redstone and iron.

Okay so I entered your seed and coordinates in the slime app.
(0,48) would be the bottom left corner of the chunk. NOT the middle point. Now the second chunk on top of the bottom would be another 16x16. So this whole area would be 32x16 long when you finish.

So my farm should start on 0,32 and end on 16,64? Sorry just started researching how to make a slime farm like 30 mins ago, needed some help.
Alright finished clearing out my slime chunks and was wondering if slime's will still spawn if there's dirt, redstone, iron and torches as part of the floor? Pics up in a few.

You can place torches on the wall and dig a hole on the ceiling for more torches, just not on the ground.
Edit: you can also try Jack-o-lanterns on the ground, I heard it acts like a block so its spawnable.
Thanks didn't think of jack-o-lanterns. One more thing lol, will my ladder in the corner of the chunk mess with the spawning of slimes, if so how could I fix it, just move it back a few block?
Anyone see anything that could keep slimes from spawning in here of let other mods spawn? Each of the holes in the ceiling has a torch in it. Now to test it out. Only thing that I would think that could is the ladder in the far corner, hopefully not though.
@AR3 Im sure I can I was just saying

CORRECT.
Torches get in the way, the rest are fine.
