Hello -- 2 areas I need some help: Essentials Kit Signs not working & TownyChat config help
Essentials Kit Signs are blue and were working. I changed the kit name/contents, redid signs, they are blue but now say "you do not have access to this kit." I can access the kit via /kit but not via a sign. Here's pastebins of my Ess Config http://pastebin.com/hgk62X5V and my Privileges Permissions config for groups: http://pastebin.com/aHHCcV5Z.
I use Towny in 1 world and have 3 other worlds where I don't want TownyChat. I can't seem to setup the permissions correctly and get Towny chat prefixes/towns/postfixes in all worlds. I'd also like to add parens around the player rank, but can't figure that out either. Here's my SimpleCHat config pastebins (2): http://pastebin.com/uc9rAgSJ & http://pastebin.com/VucG4Vpb. Here's my Towny Chat config http://pastebin.com/Qzs6VYu2, & TownyChannel config http://pastebin.com/E1i8ZEKF
Not sure if I should do separate posts . . . I thought this might be easier. If I need to separate the posts, please advise.
Thanks!
The Kit Signs has been resolved -- was adding color format to the group name on the sign which is not allowed.
Currently am testing a solution to TownyChat issues -

Completely wrong topic. If you want help, you will have to post in the correct place. Not shouting at us in caps would also help.
Could you put me a link to what is "blah blah" so I could see what the problem is?

Bukkit always loads the default permissions file no matter what. If there's not anything in it it's not going to do anything. From what it looks like PermissionsBukkit is working fine however if you send us your permissions file and full server log we may be able to help you better.

You need a permissions plugin like PermissionsEx for permissions if you wish to have basic functionality. The permissions file you posted looks like its for PEX so I highly suggest you get that plugin anyways even if it isn't your personal preference since you won't have to do anything to it. Just make sure you leave Bukkit's permissions.yml empty and then put the permissions you had in PEX's permissions.yml.

Can someone please help me figure out my situation?
I'm experiencing 2 issues:
My guest group can still build (place and destroy blocks) regardless of my settings.
Additionally every single group receives the following message when placing/destroying any kind of block. "TimberMP: You don't have the permission to mine this Tree!"
In some other places I read people suggesting to install ModifyWorld with PEX, but I really would rather just stick with WorldGuard if I can. Unless they're two totally different types of plugins and I need both?

Well, you don't really have to use both Modifyworld and worldguard at the same time, but most of the power and flexibility of PEX comes from using modifyworld with it.
Looking at your permissions, the only line I see that has anything to do with building permissions is the build: true/false line, which I believe does work with essentials anti-build. However, it does nothing with PEX (unless there has been a major change in PEX that I'm not aware of)
EDIT: I just checked to make sure, and I was correct. Your inheritance lines are incorrect as well. For example, you have the mod group set inherit from vip, member and guest, when vip already inherits from member and guest. This is causing a lot of duplicate entries when a node is checked. The PEX wiki goes into more depth on the inheritance tree
As for timbermp, according to the dev bukkit page, you need to have the node timbermp.use in your permissions, which you do, but you also have to have your config file for it set to enable the permissions hook. See http://dev.bukkit.or...ges/config-yml/
Note that there is also a worldguard capable version of the plugin according to the dev bukkit page. You might have the wrong one installed and have a conflict.
Hello fellow admins, I'm trying to force players to only build in their own regions that I've already made for'em with SRM ( Simple region market ) they would buy the region and build his house there, preventing them from breaking, placing or interacting with anything outside his region, here's my PEX:
There are 3 main groups, Babilonio, Japones and Enano, wich have the exactly same setup but diferent prefix, but players can buy a region with SRM but once they try to build or something the essentials plugin ( I guess ) tells them that they're not allowed to use INSERTNAMEITEMHERE, allowing the /pex user Elthar add essentials.build.place.* allows him to place blocks in his own region and not outside, but he can't break the blocks or eat anything, any idea why?
Remove EssentialsProtect and EssentialsAntiBuild if you don't need them, they're just something that comes with Essentials that you should only keep if you need it.
Same as the other guy, try removing EssentialsProtect and EssentialsAntiBuild. I also suggest turning your server into online mode so nobody can fake each others names.
You were missing some :'s before some group names and inheritances http://pastie.org/8433360. And for future help please post your permissions file on a site like http://pastie.org

Hey there, trying to add permissions to my server and I get an error in the console which in turn stops Permissions from starting.
I'm using PermissionsEx, here is what I've done: http://pastie.org/8433753
I used the Online YAML Parser and it doesn't specify anything wrong.
In the console I get this error:

What it is telling you is that you have tabs (the \t) in your permissions file. The PEX wiki has a section on this in the FAQ.
You are going to need to hunt down the tabs and remove or replace them with spaces. Keep in mind that a tab anywhere in the file that is not in quotes will break the file, even if it's on it's own line. YAML is picky like that.

it comes up as if i wanted help or something. IDK what to do, i can't chat in game or do ANYTHING except move.
I can't do anything because when you post permissions on the forums it doesn't do the spacing. Please put it on a site like http://pastie.org
I can't seem to fin out what the error is, so I came here hoping you can help me.
I was doing my groupmanager permissions by using the IGN commands and i went to see if the prefix for owner worked and it locked the commands

I'm using PEX and got the following problem:
When users can use /spawn, they can't build.
When users can build, they can't /spawn.
Pastebin: http://pastebin.com/nN0CRKb8
btw there's no PEX relevant errors in the server log, but anyways

PLS HELP! ;(
I'm experiencing 2 issues:
My Permissions.yml file is here:
http://pastebin.com/VE324sLN
The Plugins I have installed are:
We need your permissions file to help you. We can't figure out that much just from an error log.

Can anyone help
I'm using PermissionsEx, here is what I've done: http://pastie.org/8433753
I used the Online YAML Parser and it doesn't specify anything wrong.
In the console I get this error:

Not exactly sure what it's telling me is wrong, would love any assistance on this.

I get this in the yaml parser at https://yaml-online-...er.appspot.com/ :
Looking at the output you pasted in (thank you for that BTW ), I see this error:
What it is telling you is that you have tabs (the \t) in your permissions file. The PEX wiki has a section on this in the FAQ.
You are going to need to hunt down the tabs and remove or replace them with spaces. Keep in mind that a tab anywhere in the file that is not in quotes will break the file, even if it's on it's own line. YAML is picky like that.
