I have noticed a bug with paintings where I try to place one and it doesn't place and I get the message "paintings locked" "scroll to change paintings" message. After I break the block the painting is supposedly on I get not just the one painting I placed but several paintings. I will do a bug report on this just thought I would let others know of this bug.
edited: ah I did read the above post about this very subject and wanted to post this website which I believe was already posted but will here that wil answer the question I had and might help others with this same problem.
I seem to be having my minecraft crashing every time I try to use my 1.5 texturepack. Yes it's formatted for 1.5. It's annoying because it doesn't do it in the previous snapshot I have.

You may have to reset your options.txt. Go to your .minecraft folder and delete options.txt.
Random holes that resolves itself momentarily means you have a slow PC, or you're on incorrect drivers.
This happened to my favorite world as well. I was never able to fix it. Sad. (Mind you, it was in 1.2.5 after a strange texture pack related crash, so I'm probably just story telling...)

I'm probably the only one having this issue, but, I run a private server for meand my friends using the basic hamachi servers and since my laptop is constantly overheating we get these permanent "beta holes" where we cannot place blocks (or fill using mcedit) so mobs are frequently spawning/ walking into these holes which causes the server log to produce hundreds of messages saying that mobs are in the wrong position which causes a large amount of lag and eventually crashes our server (and I am currently unable to even login to it in single play). If anyone knows how I can fix this world holes I would really appreciate it, or just stop the server from giving me this annoying messages.
note: the world holes will not fix themselves as they have been there for months, and I am unable to fill them in any way (that I know of)
(example of error message)
[SEVERE] Wrong location! sb['Spider'/1584, l='world', x=345.59, y=46.00, z=424.68]
thanks!

I experienced the above problem where there was a hole in the map. I tried pressing F3+A, exiting the world and reentering, and logging out fully. Nothing worked.
Placing blocks caused them to disappear. There was a sort of invisible wall around the hole, so I jumped in the hole from above and got stuck a bit below the surface. After a while I would go into a loop where I would slide down for a few seconds and then pop back up. I could destroy blocks (they didn't drop anything) and exit the hole but I eventually would get sucked back in. Then the game crashed and I got this error report.

If this is not the correct place to post this, please direct me to the right one. Thanks!
I found something strange in my Minecraft, I'm not sure if it's a proper bug, but it is surely bugging me. Chat height is lower, meaning that messages cross over the health-xp-hunger bar, instead of going over only the armor bar... and this is really bugging on servers as I can't see my xp or health, and I need to keep chat up... I have to screens:
before
now
At first I thought I messed up something with Optifine, but I tryed Vanilla and the situation is the same...
So I'm asking for your help, is this a bug, or I have some way to turn it as it was before?
Sorry if this is not a proper bug, I didn't feel like creating a whole thread for this.
This is a new thing in 1.5. Go into your options, multiplayer settings, and change the 'Width' Slider down to 207 pix or less. That will confine the chat to a part of the screen that is not in front of the HUD.

Optifine allows you to zoom in but otherwise no not in vanilla
And thats the problem it doesn't resolve itself
If you'r referring to chuck errors, those should fix themselves when you relog into the world.
Alternatively you should be able to press F3+A to reload the chunks.
note: the world holes will not fix themselves as they have been there for months, and I am unable to fill them in any way (that I know of)
