Hello so I'm in the process of making my prison server and I have a mine. Basically its a cube in the ground generated with world edit (//set 98%stone,1%ironore,1%coalore)
I need some way I can reset the mine at will.
I figured I could do
//copy
//save mine1
//load mine1
//paste -o
However thats the same mine over and over again. People could memorize ore locations...

What do you mean by "reset"? I'm not sure you can get the server to regenerate the region completely randomly every time (without doing the worldedit commands again).
Also, what's a prison server?

Obviously the server couldn't do it... it would require a plugin. Secondly if you don't even know what a prison server is.. why bother commenting?

Bro there's no reason to be a little chode about it. I'm trying to help you. Never heard of a prison server.
No **** the server couldn't do it. The plugin you're talking about is WorldEdit. Don't talk to me like I'm retarded.
Copying the region "mine1" will copy EXACTLY what "mine1" is, not just 98% stone, 1%coal, 1%iron. To make it different every time, you have to use the worldedit commands EVERY TIME to generate a completely new mine.

there are several ways to do this... i use it to regenerate mines on limited sized maps. but i dont know what a prison server is either. sorry i bothered commenting.

What way are you talking about?
cute. if you're so experienced, why don't you figure it out yourself?

The plugins you'll need:
1) WorldEdit
2) CommandSigns
3) Essentials-type thingy that allows you to set warps and teleport to them.
Let's say we have a 3x3 pit like this (top view):
Key:
can be any block; I suggest bedrock, but if you have a protection plugin like WorldGuard, it does not really matter.
and are the same blocks as :Orange:; I used them to to show the location of 2 different side views below.
will be the place that will be reset automatically
is air
Now, you'll have to change the pit in such a way that you will be able to mark both edges with //hpos. Something like this, showing opposite sides of the pit. Side view.
One side
Other side
Set warps on both sides so that that when you run //hpos on either of them, the coord will be set on that block. In the end, the blocks that are highlighted with and on my charts would mark the corners of the cuboid.
Basically, you are done, unless you want to automate it even further. We use CommandSigns; there are other plugins like that, I think, but the basic idea is to run several commands by clicking a sign.
Here are your commands, assuming you've set the warps with names mine_pos1 and mine_pos2
If something is unclear, feel free to ask me, but start talking to me like you did to other people - and you are not getting a shist. This method works perfectly.

I am still a little confused by this I am just starting so I have less experience is there a smipler way to explain it?
Is it possible to set specific locations using worldedit CRAFT-SCRIPTS? so basically, you import the worldedit blocks, and then you, well this is the part I'm not too sure how to do, then you can do the command //set (block percentage) and then broadcast: "MINE RESET"...
Basically, I'm pretty sure there is a way to program an automated mine reset with worldedit craftscripts, so any Java script programmers want to do this?
Or is there a way to select regions using coordinates only...
How about something more easier?
//set 70%stone,2%diamondore,9%coalore,3%goldore,6%ironore
Simply explains itself.
And you'd only need wedit.
It randomly places it all over instead of being in the same location. Simple reset.
Although, if this doesn't work, you can always copy half of one mine and half of another, then rotate them both so it doesn't seem like a familiar mine.

What we do on CheeseCraft is that.

Code a mod to build what your looking for. Can't be all that tough for a hardcore developer like yourself, eh?
In hindsight, that name looks familiar.
He helps with a Spleef plugin. Meh.
I meant from another game/site.
Where if I'm recalling correctly, he's just as childish and bratty.
