I've recently noticed an odd change, where Minecraft is rendering everything, from the GUI to items in my inventory, with little-none of the detail in the textures, turning items into vague blobs of color in the shape of their item, or creating JPEG-Artifact like defects on textures.
I'm explaining this terribly, and just hoping someone knows what I'm talking about, because it seems to be just me.
I've tried reinstalling Java, updating all my drivers, using drivers from my computer company, and running it in compatibility mode. Nothing has helped.
Does kinda look smudgy on the edges. Are your graphics on fancy or fast? Should be fancy (although I doubt that is the problem).
I've tried playing with all the in-game settings, from Fast/Fancy, the render distance, the new "Balanced/PowerSaver/MaxFPS" setting, Advanced OpenGL, GUI Scale. Nothing changes it. I've reinstalled Minecraft several times, and I've tried playing fullscreen/windowed. Nothing seems to make a difference.
Do you have any settings 'forced' in your Nvidia / ATi control panel? Make sure anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering etc are all set to "application-controlled" (or if necessary, make a new profile for Minecraft and set everything to application-controlled there).
I'm actually running Intel, but before you call that my problem, I've never had this issue before. I've checked through Intel's graphics control panel, it has nothing of real use to me.
EDIT: Nevermind, I'm a complete fool; I missed a line where it was forcing texture compression. Thank you! That completely fixed it. I'm not sure why it was forced, but I'll remember that. +Rep for the solution. :smile.gif:

Here's a few screenshots. Hopefully they do a better job of explaining.
