Eh, I just wanted to share my world/home with the rest of you guys. I know it's not mindblowingly insane or huge,
but I was just wondering if I could get constructive criticism, advice, what I could add, etc. Tell me what you
think x) It's a four-story house w/ an underground stairway, storage room, and an alternate route out. The rest
of the world is pretty blank, but that's because I've mostly been mining and cave exploring. I don't know what
else I should add.
The inside I like, the outside I like too, apart from the bottom. The bottom floor is way too small, it doesn't look right. I think you should add supports to the corners and fill some of the gaps with fences or something to make it look more stable and balanced.
Also, now stairs can go upside-down it might be worth revisiting the staircases and adding upside-down stairs underneath to make it look more solid.
Otherwise it's good.
Mostly what I was thinking.
Also, you might want to think about switching up some of the cobblestone with smoothstone brick; people 'round here hate cobble for some reason. Personally I think it's fine for flooring etc. but just be prepared for people to diss it. Overall I do like your variation of materials etc.
The way you used cobble is quite nice, except the flooring could use some kind of pattern other than pure cobble since a lot of cobble does tend to look awful.
If I put support beams at the bottom, that'll allow spiders to climb up the side of my house. I tried to add some function in my house, mainly because I made almost everything for looks, lol. I wanted to make it a floating house. But thanks guys!

These guys basically said what my response would be, which would to go through and see what you can improve with the new building mechanics added in the almost year since 1.8 was released.

I do, and I don't agree. I think a lot of cobble can look nice if you build the rest of your structure in a way that complements it, like Odelogum did. The part I do agree on was having some patterns in the floors, personally I like a checkerboard of smooth stone and cobblestone, but I think its really up to the builder.
(Anyone think I could quote anymore of this topic?! )
EDIT: Whoops forgot to ask, could you upload the world somewhere and PM me the link or post it in the OP? I really want to look at your buildings (specifically the interiors) because they look both functional and use-able, while also keeping the element of decoration, which is something I always try to go for, but I always seem to mess it up somewhere!
Thank you! And there are a dozen more stacks in the other chest x)
There isn't many advances in technology because after 1.8, I pretty much got bored with minecraft and left the world alone for five months. After a while I came back, and I started building again.
No animals are spawning though D: I only see cows and sheep in the further chunks, I can't figure out how to get around this.
You trade it with villagers LOL I don't mine in the further chunks, I have to go wayy too far.
I'll put up more pictures. I have six full double chests of cobblestone, and here's the quarries to prove it.
Mining Operation #1: (stretches on for about 90 blocks)

Looks nice!
If he generated an extreme hills biome he hadn't generated during 1.8, he could have generated emerald ore.
