Can i get a tutorial on how the water thing works on the wheat farm?
I can do something. Any specific part of the system? Water distributor? Harvesting wheat with water? There are probably some good tutorials already on youtube.
Othewise, it is fairy simple. Water flows oven the top of the wheat and the wheat breaks into wheat and seeds. It is then carried down to a trench, which carries the water into the collection room.
I have seen the pictures of your build. I like how it all fits into the terrain so well. Very cool.
Does your mushroom farm work? I have a couple mushroom layouts built in the big room under my sugarcane farm. I am trying to figure one out that works somewhat decently considering the new 9x9x3 rules. I will then expand it into another indoor farm.
I so far have 10 seed mushrooms down and have only gotten 3 new mushrooms over 5 minecraft days.
thanks! well your results with the shroom farm are better than mine, I only get 1-2 shrooms every 5 days. new rules require a spaced out farm with as little starter mushrooms as possible and frequent harvesting to avoid their numbers reaching the cap wich is 5 per 9x9x3 space i think?

That is the new rule I have heard. I am working on trying to figure something out.
My progress will be getting slower through the Holidays. I am also in the process of quitting my job and starting a new one in Jan. Plus I will be going to NYC for a couple of weeks.
The only way I could find to get decent results with a shroom farm is to make it MASSIVE. I personally gave up on automating my shroom farm in survival worlds, and instead just place down a mushroom in an open area and bonemeal it whenever I need more. 100X faster than a auto one can get now.
I am needing to find some slimes. I am debating if using one of the programs to find slim chunks is bad or not.
I did see a mod that tells the light level of the block I am standing on. I may get that one as it's more of a quality add than something like an inventory hack. Could really be helpful in the shroom farm design.
My main goal is to avoid mods that allow inventory hacking or flying. Though the mod for planes and the one for balloons are pretty awesome. Not exactly the same thing as being able to fly like creative though.

I plan to make a mushroom farm, but I might not make it automatic given the new rules. I may make it similar to my tree farm; multiple level with a lot of mushroom beds. I will then manually harvest them.
Yeah i meant the distributor, i know how this farm works, but due to changes in the water physics my old distributor doesnt work anymore and im having trouble finding a new way
No sure when I'll be able to post pictures, but maybe I can explain how they work.
I'll have a flat wall of stone, then blocks stick out from it. Water from the source block falls down, then hits one of the stones sticking out. That stone then splits the water into 3 flows; left, right, and straight ahead. You can then have a 1 stone gap, then another stone sticking out so one of the new streams hit it. And this continues until the flow is as wide as you need it.
Did I explain it well enough? I'll get screens when I have time. Not spending much time in minecraft with the holidays.

Finally got around to taking some screen. I probably over did it with the screens again and have more than you want. But, I am bored at work so here you go.
Update 2:
Wheat Farm Redstone, Water Distributor, and Harvest
The process starts here at the switch. Hit the switch, turn signal off, pistons retract, and water harvests.
For the wheat farm, the redstone goes through an above ground tunnel, under the wheat farm, then into the wire tray, which runs to the other end of the building.
Outside of the tray under the wheat farm:
It then steps up to each level, though I have been shown a better way in this thread.
Here is the redstone branching out to a piston.
Here is the piston holding back water. This piston is actually on the water distributor on the level above the water it is controlling
Water distributor OFF. I got this design from a youtube video, but I do not remember who from:
Piston at top retracts and exposes water source block stored in the back wall of the distributor. The water hits first level and is split into 2 strams. This water then runs off each side of the first level, hits a block and is split into 3 streams. These then split again when they jump down a level off the distributor.
Wheat harvest going:
Here comes the wheat!
Harvest Results
And the top level finished:
Sugarcane Farm Redstone and Water Distributors
The sugarcane redstone is designed to oscillate the pistons. This signal can be turned on/off
The harvesting can be turned on and off via a switch in the collection room, show here on the left.
The signal then travels under the collection room into a tunnel.
Underground tunnel
It then comes up out of the tunnel into the wheat farm.
And goes to the right side of an AND Gate:
The left side is connected to a repeater:
The out signal of the AND gate goes back underground:
The redstone then completes as shown in the OP. It goes throught the tunnel, up the redstone tower, and out to the three level of pistons.
Here are the water distributors in the botton layer of the sugarcane farm. It is the same concept as the wheat farm. Water falls 1 block and contacts another block. This block then splits the stream into multiple streams.
4 block wide distributor. OFF (water comes from where dirst block is held):
This is all legit? Thats fricking awesome. This would have been impressive even in creative but in survival..... Wow.
Texture Pack? I should know but im dumb

wow I have never seen these water distributors! I was using rows of pistons to achieve the same waterflow but in some cases (my 2 sided automatic pumpkin/ melon farm) too many pistons are needed!
this is absolutely insane, I love it. I want to build some automated stuff just like this. I love how you use water, you try to make it realistic coming from a source and feeding to things you need. Like in the underground tunnels the water coming out of the little dam thing between the stairs looks great!

I didn't know that would work! I have to give it a try then as it will save a LOT of redstone. Thank you!

diamonds to u my friend
There was water there when it was planted. I stopped the water for the sceens, which is why the sugarcane broke when I started the water again.
