Just wondering, how many of these will be ctm's or are they all adventure/puzzle?
Well, let me try to break down the current plan:
- 10 maps total.
- 5 maps that lean towards darker themes, 5 that lean towards lighter ones.
- At least two adventure maps, two puzzle maps, one survival map, one CTM map and one parkour map. Therefore, three could be anything, really.
- The three maps currently being worked on are adventure, puzzle and CTM, based on the order they were introduced in.
I guess that anything could happen! Right now, that's the general idea. It all depends on what I feel like doing, and what I feel would be best!

You know I wonder if just for the fun of it, Should I put together a "Fun Box" of contraptions for this as a side quest or something for you?
I have something that I want to make and originally I was going to make them into a map but then I thought better of because I have no clue as to how to put them in a fluid map scheme. I could build them and show them but I wouldn't be able to guarantee an explanation as my mic port hates me.
Skype me and let me know what you think.(You seem to check here more than Skype.)

Yeah, Skype is less reliable on my end for some odd reason. Private messages here work great as well, as I'm notified of them faster. I'm feeling a bit under the weather right now, as I just said on Skype for the group, so I may not be in the best position to check out your fun box at the moment, but you should definitely consider sharing it!
I have been working on the map on and off (using the off time to test other maps, do school work and play Sticker Star), but things are progressing! I'd say the map is now around 10% complete, so a 5% gain over the last landmark. I have added this new screenshot to the post, but what could it be, and where will it hide?
That said, this isn't all that has been worked on. I'm purposely avoiding the other area in which I've put work, simply because it contains heavy spoilers. This one only shows an optional area that will barely provide around ten minutes of fun, so no big spoilers here!
Feel free to leave thoughts, comments and speculation!
That was a while ago, though. Ironically enough, though, I haven't gotten through world 5 yet. I think I kinda lost interest at some point because of some other game, and haven't gotten back to it yet...

I will definitely play the ctm's. And I'll play the puzzle and adventures maps when my map schedule opens.

Sounds good! The first CTM map should be the third map released, if all goes well. It'll be pretty cool, even though it won't be quite like most other maps of the same genre!
As for why that is, you'll see when the time comes.
An intriguing way to release the map. It all makes sense now! HAHA. But a quick question, Why wouldn't you release it all together? I guess it keeps people coming back and wanting more.

Well, that's the thing - it'll all be released as one map, once all the maps are done. If I waited until everything was done to release anything, though, I may either have to wait until next year, or perhaps even give up halfway through. This way, I'm sure that even if unexpected events take place, or if it proves too difficult to finish, at least parts of it will be done and playable!
It's more of a lifeline than anything else, really.

Ah, Fair point made. Well, It's a date closing in soon. Cant wait to see it and play it!
Just a recommendation, you might want to keep all the Project TMM maps on one thread. Otherwise it will get frustrating and difficult to keep track off.

Yeah, I wondered about the best way to organize it on the forum. I was also thinking about releasing each map in different threads while still keeping them linked to one master-thread, though. It'd allow more videos per post (as the media limit is a bothersome thing), and would keep everything in one spot while allowing more in-depth descriptions of each map...
If I do keep it in one thread, though, it'll be less to maintain. I guess I'll see when the time comes, haha.
I'm making all the maps, but I don't mind suggestions No guaranteeing that I'll follow them, but I like hearing what people have to say!
Do a barrel roll.

I lost interest after world 2. It just doesn't have the interesting gameplay that TTYD had, for it's really repetitive.
Anyway, on a note more related to the map, I really like how you divided the map up into 10 different maps instead of 1 giant long map. Reminds me a lot of Chronotide.

Eh, I liked it enough to feel like I should get back to it eventually, but I think what's lacking the most are the fun battles, the characters and the story that TTYD certainly did right. The bosses have also been rather disappointing... That said, the mansion in world 4 was reminiscent of areas from the previous games, so if anything, that was worthwhile. Seeing how you liked Luigi's Mansion enough to replicate a part of it, I'm sure you'd at least enjoy that one for the setting itself.
As far as the map structure goes, yeah, I think that'll work best. I'm still not sure what the requirement will be to progress in the story in the final map (whether you must complete one, two or three of the available maps), but I guess that'll be easier to decide once the average map length is measured.
Oh, and while I'm at it, would you like testing the first of these maps before I release it in July? I still haven't properly moved it into its own file (yet), but I'll probably have that done around the end of the month. If you're interested, say so and I'll add you to the list of testers.
Wow, just noticed this thread, yeah I am kinda slow..
This looks really fantastic, ambitious idea, look forward to seeing the results.

I guess I'll have to clarify: I don't mind suggestions relating to the project at hand. But I'll gladly perform a barrel roll.

I'll post the video on June 32nd, so look forward to that!

Please tell me your kidding.
(Btw, its not july first either...)
That's exactly why I said "32nd". It's not an actual day.
