I'm thinking of making my next map a Modded CTM, I feel it would add more gameplay
Meh, although I could see how some mods could add to the experience, those are the ones that are usually unpredictable and spawn random things everywhere. Also, some may not able to or have a hard time installing mods which would leave them not able to enjoy the map.

Personnaly, I think that there isn't much limit to gameplay additions now with command blocks and such. I can't really think of anything mods could add that you couldn't create, at least in a bit of a less- refined way, with vannilla. Sure it would be less refined, but I don't think that's enough reason to have the person download mods... Though if you can give specific examples of what your thinking of I think we could better judge.
EDIT: Unless, of course, your absolutely horrid with command blocks or hate typing the commands in general. In which case its a different ballgame.
To me, its not a question of mods anymore. Its a question of whether you use command blocks as a central part of the map. That's the main dividing line that people seem to have conflicts with.

So. As it seems that the group command block rage time has ended, I'd like to raise a few points and ask a community question.
Firstly, after what Skeeto said and talking a bit with Heliceo, I've decided that I'll just completely ignore other maps when making my own. I'll act as if my map is the only one in existence, and I won't try and compare it to others. Disclaimer: I'll still be taking inspiration from other maps and I won't talk like my map is the only one there is when I post here
Secondly, this command block stuff I realized is complete nonsense. Every one of us will make maps, and every one of us will have a different audience of people who prefer his mapmaking style. We DO NOT have to make command block stuff, and with the amount of people that it seems that won't do that, I don't see why such a thing will become normal (so RC will always have it's special sort of unique-ness, because Heliceo actually understands command blocks ). A CTM is a CTM as long as it has these aspects:
1. Direct combat with mobs.
2. The need to think of strategies/playstyles.
3. The need to eat food and make grinders here and there (even in Inferno Mines you could make grinders, Vechs' devcom is proof of this).
4. Having less than 5000 command blocks (I'd say 1000, but I'll probably exceed that when I make my next map in 1.8).
Community question:
Why do you make maps?
Because of the feeling of success, and knowing that this will make people happy and possibly rage. Also because otherwise I'd feel that I'm playing this game for a meaningless reason(s).
And one last thing: a page is 20 posts, so the 20th post will always be a page get. By the way, page get
EDIT: Because someone reported that dude, no page get
Nah, I'm doing it mostly because it's fun. I'm really not expecting people to actually go play my maps, although I'm getting a little scared now my troll map got 100 downloads. I never expected that many people to go play my full map even

This really depends on the mod, but I don't think it will work out as great
You mean like Agrarian Skies?
-modded CTMs can be pretty neat if done right; albeit this isn't your typical dungeon diver CTM
(if you get it registered as a private pack, then a working mod setup is just a case of entering the launch code and hitting the red button)

Btw, I've been working on becoming a member of the Vadact build team recently- made a couple of cool 34 x 34 block plots, now working on a 300 x 300 block one to get closer to working on the build team itself :3
That's cool! They're a decent team, though THEY DON'T DO INTERIORS ON THEIR PMC BUILDS!!!
I just received a PM by Sangiin, and apparently he's been IP banned from the forums. I don't know how, so don't ask me. He's making an effort to fix things, but until that happens he won't be around.
He says he's pretty confident he'll find a way to come back, but in the case that he isn't able to, he told me to say he'll miss all of you. Also, he was able to send me the PM through... other means... so don't ask about that either.

What the...
Add me to that PM maybe? Or make a new PM and lemme me now what happened, 'cuz this really doesn't make any sense.

What I mentioned above is all the information I currently know. I could ask him what he got banned for, but I don't know if that's something he would be willing to let me share.

Tell him to message me on Skype. If I have information I can see if something can be done.
So, I'd like a bit of help on my to-do list... I basically need to do 2 more wools, and then the finishing stuff comes in. This includes:
- Adding loot
- Alpha testing every area one more time
- Balancing
- No vine trimming (yes, new randomtick gamerule :D)
- Adding all entities (mobs, animals)
- Setting up all final parts of traps, so they wouldn't go off prematurely.
- Alpha test the map myself
- Balancing
- Send the map to beta testers
Would this be a good way of going about it? I'm not sure.
Also, I would really like a few beta testers. If you want to volunteer, reply here, on my thread, or send me a message

Reminds me of Ragecraft 2 first area, but looks cool.
The thing that interests me the most is not the modded CTM, it's the fact that you're considering to be back at mapping.

Thats a really bad idea

I just realized how useful this is for City of Fallen Trees in SI
