I don't think enough people have explained to you how seriously awesome that is. Let me with a language I learned on pluto that fits perfectly, awsomeese-
The flaming orange milkshake in the hollow diamond shape slabs make for a perfect illusion of awesomey opticalness. It gives an incredibly sense of space and ominism, yet somehow manages to make me want to set up a shrine to it.
But seriously, amazing man. Might have to keep an eye on you
Erm. Try make the shapes either stand more apart like they are floating, or give them support beams. Maybe light up the path as a focus point. The idea is ok, but the way it's worked out creates just a mess.
I disagree with everything but the path as the focus point. Honestly I think giving them support beams would take away from the illusion, the mysticallness of it. It would make them seem too... well, real. I don't think that was his intention, and IK that if they had been supported I wouldn't have been as amazed by it. Instead of thinking "wow, nice lava illusion" I would have thought, okay, there are lava diamonds. On sticks. Wuh? (Ironocally, the more realistic option is the stranger, less incredible one, at leas to me.)
Maybe to make the path a focus point, have the same thing you did there, but have the diamond- shapes be in a circle, or rudimentary tube (albeit with overlaps and some views outside to keep the illusion), around the path.
Ok, first thing this needs: A better room to hold it. The blank bedrock walls are boring as all get out. Have fun with it, make something creative, something that fits with the massive lava diamonds better
Second thing is the giant lava diamonds. Now they look really cool, but there's just waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many of them, and all flippantly placed. You need to take some of them out, and place them with purpose. Not necessarily symmetrically, just in a way that doesn't look like you just MCedit-yolo'd it
Third thing: It needs some sort of light at the center point of the path. and speaking of the paths, for an intersection like this, you might consider making the paths look supported, but I really can't tell if you need to do that until you fix the room that the intersection is in. In the blank shell you currently have, the paths need support, but depending on how you transform that room supports for the path might break the atmosphere, which you don't want, so send another pick this way whenever you make the changes so I can evaluate that. (I mean if you don't mind, an' all)
Fourth thing: For some reason this intersection just screams stalactites-and-stalagmites to me. You could make them out of lava if you want (:P) but that really, once again, depends on how you change the current shell of a room you have. If you make the new room out of sandstone, lava would work, but if you made it outta stone, probably not what you wanna make them out of. Actually, quick thought: You could do a cool fire and water contrast, doing lava on one side and water on the other, but maybe you should do that in a future intersection as idk if it would work with the lava-diamond-things. (Sorry, I'm rambling XD)
Ok well that was a mouth-full, so I'll shuddup now. .3.
This is a map series that is currently under development. I encourage you to check it out! It will most likely be released sometime in August, if no unforeseen disaster strikes. Also, I am looking for Beta Testers, you will be included on the Spawn Point walls. PM me or reply to my topic if you are interested.
Well guys I'm about done trying to make an open-sky area, I just can't seem to get it right. I really wanted a big open-sky area leading from I3 to I4 but I just cant get the cavern/valley thing shaped right, Plus I don't have a theme for it (like Forest, Ruins, Waterfalls etc.) Do you guys have any suggestions for like a cool or unique theme?

Hai it's Kaider I predate pretty much all of you yadda yadda yadda.
Someone name me a map that's easy/medium difficulty that I haven't played, and would be good to get back into LP'ing with.
(the last thing I played was UT3 for context)

Ragecraft 2 is pretty easy and relaxing map
And also The Painter is almost done.

Hybran is a lovely person who is nice to everyone and not judgmental whatsoever, he also gives out free candy to every new person he meets
The Painter is finally getting finished?
Yes, that description of Hybran is succinct and most accurate. Also, will the CTMCommunity account get a logo/something or will it be forever a grey Steve face? Just wondering, cause it's been a year.
Joke is I'm always lurking... so not much of a miracle Posted on my thread a few times and play Minecraft all the time now, even tried to do mapmaking again, but just don't feel like posting.
But the presence of reunion makes me feel better around all these new people :3 miss everyone, just don't have anything to say. Anyway, it's fun only turning up when my name is called. Makes me seem like an arrogant moo who enjoys having people talk about her. totally the case...
On topic: The Painter hype!
I have summoned the Skeeto. (who turned out to be super-lurker)

Force15> So, I kinda need help downloading the ctm mapmaking mods again, can anyone help me through skype?
Wait, what map?
Did you click on the signature?
OK, got a few options
Merciless Jungle by Elias1 and Keksmonster
Open Sky by Iciliser
The Tale of Two Swords (Lots of Supercharged Creepers though...)
Shards of the Void by Reshif
Titan by Grimdeath
The 3rd CTM Jam Maps
Aima Caves 2.0 by Vitto
Hope that's enough to choose from!!
I'm aware. Just pointing out the lack of any information or link in the actual post.

I can arrange that
1. We need a new nickname Apocalypse. Not enough of the people here now were present during the last one. Get on it Goomoose.
2. I feel like an extreme noob with a bunch of mature and experienced people even more than I did before.
Also.... who's Hybran?......
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaa...
oh, you're serious.
Yeah, basically.
Well, you're the mod, so of course you can.
I saw that! It was awesome. Now you're thinking with portals.
Yeah, Hybran hasn't been here in 5ever.
I dunno bout Skeeto being here, that'll take a miracle.
A person. Who goes fast. The ghost in the night.
