Gorgeous detail and quite challenging. This map is a great example of good area design, surrounded with large- and small-scale detail that can be appreciated from long and short distances. You cannot go charging headlong into these zones, as mob swarming and clever traps will keep you on your toes. I particularly liked the monument mechanics (and location in relation to challenge areas.)

Massive jungle. I played a much earlier version of this map, and at the time, the visuals were quite impressive. Traps had fairly limited mechanics, and the borders of the map were rectangular. But it was my first CtM and holds a special place in my heart

GORGEOUS builds. ENORMOUS world. Those two features are clearly the highlight. Unfortunately, you can gear up super fast and then it's about as easy as vanilla Minecraft. Lore starts off strong, but seems to taper out by the middle. A bit too much 'out of character' humor for my taste, but I don't count that against a rating. Really good transportation system, with clever lockout, except that I wish it were enabled a lot earlier than Wizard's Point. There's no benefit of getting to the monument early - the chests there have low level gear and areas you haven't seen are locked out - so why not let us come store our eggs here or make this our central base? 12 eggs is a nice, unique goal, but the end is even more anti-climactic than a sandstone monument (in terms of function).

Great twist on CtM - the world is made of wool and you are collecting normal blocks! Small and not too difficult, even though there are 2 good mob dungeons and some good exploring. You are given gold and diamond in abundance (since there are no ores). The build needs a little bit of smoothing.
I added some buildings and other things to the area. What do you guys think about it?
Looks good, but still I think there needs to be more coal for it to be a proper mine (if you're going for resource scarcity ignore this). I really like the way you did the buildings and the hanging lamps. Also since I'm guessing you're going for a limited amount of cobble because of the stone bricks you should try double cobble slabs or cyan stained clay, just to see if it looks better for a mine area.
It's a starting area, so no stone, leaves or a lot of resources. Lorewise, it's all mined out.
Well since there isn't going to be a lot of coal at the start, I'm guessing that most players will rely on charcoal, so personally I kinda recommend having some sort of convenience wood/stone axe that has high efficiency and unbreaking. Also how did you make that pattern with the hardened clay, sandstone, and quartz?

So I decided to change spawn of my map.. let's hope I wont have to replace half of the map with water.
Poison water.
That kills you.
So you won't escape.
Ever.
Another WIP area. As before, I'd like feedback on block variation and buildings. It's also part of the previous area, but also a series of mineshafts beneath that area.
Choose either the stonebrick-quartz and remove the sandstone/sand, or replace the stonebrick with smooth and/or cobble and go all sandstone

I'm with Apollo on this, you should use either stone bricks or sandstone, but not both at once. (I myself think that sandstone would work better with the wood and lapis you have there)
I also would appreciate some general feedback on the thing I'm working on:
I honestly think I might have gone a bit over the edge with details.
Also, I will probably put something on the walls of this cave-thing, just so it will not look too boring.
Hello friends, Minecraftians and countrymen. After my funk has ended-the madness and sadness of Ragecraft victory passing over me-I feel I am ready to entertain once again. Please feel free to join my journeys once more. I currently have Inspired Gallery, and Vigilis Oclus in my maps folder, so let's go from there.

Wow... Love it, the castle is amazing. No need to add variation to the walls, it will take attention away from the castle. Maybe some structures in the side would be good though.

The bridge could stand to be a little less detailed, also arches in the bridge would look good. Don't worry about the cavern itself, you want the player to focus on the castle so its good that the cavern is bland-ish. Other than that, you've nailed it

My general feedback is that it looks amazing and it doesn't need more details like Gnome suggested. The colorscheme you've got going really works well for me, and I feel it would be kinda ruined by adding another color in (green, for example.)
...yeah that's about it. It's a great simplistic area that looks great just as it is.
Hi guys. I've been playing around with Kamyu's Custom Spawner Tool for a while, only to realize I have no idea what-so-ever what the various options do (sure, I've figured out a few things). Could someone point me towards a tutorial or something?
Also, I've been sniffing at playing CTM maps and I'd like to ask the community for some recommended maps for beginners :-) Thanks for your time.

I'd not use Kamyu's Spawner Tools anymore - it's hideously outdated, and the health side of things doesn't even work anymore. I've personally been using Sethbling's Create Geared Mobs filter for pretty much anything I need now-a-days.
His various filters for MCEdit pretty much do anything you could really ask for with Mobs!
As for good maps for beginners... I'd take a look at perhaps Rockenroll4life's Arachnopocalypse (A pretty tricky, but well balanced Minimap), TikaroHD's Animosity, and Grimdeath9740's Titan map, for ones that I personally feel like fit the introductory side - not easy per-say, but ease you into things solidly.
I also totally wouldn't mind you playing my Minimap, but it's pretty difficult!
UPDATE: Who would've thought editing would take such a long time?
@Eiliya I would suggest something like Monstrosity (which isn't that easy, but it's manageable). The only thing bad about that map is that the wools aren't in order, and the brown wool has a chance of exploding (at least it happened on my creative test world).

Pwetty and all but whole area could be more smooth.
