Figured I'd ask here in addition to the Strawberry Jam thread, since it's been half an hour since I posted there and I'm impatient...
So, I'm planning on livestreaming as I work on my entry, and am currently working on setting up the stream... I've never livestreamed before, but I think I've got it pretty much all figured out. Problem is, it's difficult to tell what the viewers are seeing and hearing when I do test streams. Would anyone be willing to pop on over to briefly to help me work out the last few issues I might have?
Edit: Okay, thanks, that's done. Everything working; make sure to check out the stream tomorrow when I finally begin construction on my entry into the CTM building jam/competition thingy!
Drago what about me, I finished the first intersection and then ran to set up stuff at the monument! Don't know whether to start again or not D:
Well, were you playing the map in its original version, or in 1.6? If the former, I might just say that you should continue as you were. If the latter, you should restart, I think.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Mapmaker and LPer of Complete The Monument (CTM) maps.
Creator/owner of the CTM Community Mapping Server - ask about it on the CTM Community thread!
Current projects:
Thanatos - a subterranean semi-open-world urban CTM
Titan's Revolt - a collaborative project run by ProjectCTM; sequel to Pantheon
Pinnacle - a "sketch" mini-CTM intended for newer players (nearing completion!)

Ah man, sorry dude, I know you were playing it. >_< There are actually a lot of aesthetic additions I think you might like earlier on, and since you've only conquered I01 (and a bit of I02,) I'd say you might want to restart on 1.6.2. If you'd rather not, that's fine by me, but you won't be getting the newer, more polished experience.
So I have been redesigning, reworking the Elemental Shrine (Monument) area (along with many other things) for Legends of Argonia, and I have been working on the sequel to villager trades at the monument. Lands of Desire II mainly used EXP bottles for currency, and I'm continuing that on this one.
For more details, click the spoiler.
I've got 4 different villagers set up and I think I'm staying with that. These villagers sell:
Potions
Weapons
Armor
Misc. Tools (TNT, Golden Apples and other stuff)
I have made a display, a sneak peek of some of the items available to buy from the armory villager, using attributes to make things more interesting and make the player choose which one to get. Keep in mind that these items are priced differently, not all of them are the same price, so some pieces of armour are more powerful than others.
This is how much health the Granite Platebody gives you, if you wear it:
If people really want to see some of the weapons available, I'll create another display for you guys. Any suggestions or feedback is definitely appreciated. I'd love some more armor ideas.
My first thought is travel time, do the areas it goes to just not exist yet or do you intent the played to run for a long time for no reason. Also random question why is the glowstone on the bottom path seem more spreed out than the others?
Yay, I get get home for school, and a whole new server has started, and now I can never be in( I wanted to be in really bad). Oh and who missed me?(Yeah, probably no one <3)
On a side note, I have draw up the map for Lands of Mystery #2 - Lost in Time
Check my thread in an hour or two to see the info.
I suppose it depends on what you mean by veteran. By which date, or which map release?
(I joined July 2011, which was around the release of Sunburn Islands, but that was back in the time when Vechs made maps a lot faster.)
There are many factors that could contribute:
1. Date joined.
2. Around X Map release time.
3. Number of maps completed.
4. Number of maps completed with below X number of deaths.
5. Popularity and participation in the CTM Community.
6. Speed in which you complete maps.
7. Etc.
The term veteran is subjective unless we create a codified "achievement" system whereby one unlocks the term "veteran." Because no one could ever agree on the criteria for veteran status, the term has remained wholly subjective.

4 and 6 are really kinda invalid. I consider ZombieCleo a veteran even though she dies a ton and takes a long time to complete maps. And Zisteau...well he's Zisteau, it took him like a year to beat legendary?
also to be clear i realize you were only stating examples, not an actual criteria. I just wanted to add my two cents. Carry on.

No, those are good points. It proves my point that veteranship is subjective, and has different criteria for everyone.
500 post.. wow.. really.
My 500 post is.. this? FML.
But really, I am the only one here who thinks vines are really overused in maps? They really not make the map look better (mostly they do but they are still overused, UT3)
While trying to read that, I forgot how to spell/pronounce Emeralds.
Damn it Drago!
1) Too small
2) Needs moar lava
3) Needs moar fire
4) #adswag2013

Exactly as planned. :3

Delete the vines and post it again.

I don't have build commands, so I don't use vines. Its a pain to do.
