So... Um... 700 posts. That's quite a lot. And that makes me a Diamond Miner. I seem to be quite determined in this community, and it shows through my post count. So, thanks to all for encouraging me to be an active member of this community, and only 300 more till the big "1000".
So, for now, I leave you with a screenshot of things to come in my map, with caption-like features underneath (Hope you don't mind Fang! ).
The nest has awoken, stomach grumbling ferociously in hunger for flesh, and fangs poised in wait. But what is it waiting for? Even I don't know...
Community question:
How much lore and adventure features do you like in a CTM map?
Lore is a thing I like in a map, just to help immerse the player into an experience that they are experiencing. Well-crafted lore can really make a map feel good.

I kinda like lores added to areas because for the mapmaker may be able to try learning poetry cus poetry is manly and for the players, they can have theories about a certain area and make the map experience greater and when they provide the theory to the mapper, they can just be claim that that was how the whole thing was formed if they are just providing random literary lores to areas.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Every bloody CTM map series boasts that it's bigger, longer, and harder than other CTM series. It's almost as if it's a **** measuring contest. (bigger, longer, harder...)

Depends, I don't read the story in Pantheon, and other stuff like that. I like trades, and maybe a small story for each area. I don't like parkour stuff.
(*cough* Septum Immoriel *cough* The Rabbit Hole *cough*)

The rabbit hole parkour is easy.. There are 0 hard jump total. It gets annoying though after a couple time.
Here is largely unfinished Research Facility X, an area from my WIP Arcane Tales 2... A federal research outpost located in the northernmost regions of our planet. It is a large compound of futuristic-looking buildings, conducting illegal experiments and research, it is known only by a handful of people. It houses terrible and wonderful things, most of them genetically altered... or worse. But it serves a greater purpose...! Find out what, in the next episode of Arcane Tales!
snip
Note: I recently bought Crysis 3 (amazing game, btw), and suddenly I have so many ideas... wonder why...
I've been working on something new for my next map, and I really like how it's coming along. There are items that will be in "sets" together, meaning they are similar items, have similar attributes, etc. I wanted to incorporate something more than just having similar items, so I built something that would "combine" them.
This is just a rough prototype, although it does function.
Basically, you put in all the items in a particular set, press a button, and you receive an item that is a combination of those items. I just thought it was an interesting concept.

I know its easy, but its still annoying to have bedrock parkour in the beginning of the map. I had a ton of stuff and my computer lagged and I lost it.

Ouch. Yea I was afraid something like that would happen to me. Thankfully nothing bad happened.

Actually, I have something like that in my map, but its villager trades. Easier to make and probably to use.
Comments: Fog of Demise 1 was a famous map, and the second one is just like that. The premise of this map is you cannot jump, you are very slow, you have blindness, and fast creepers are coming for you. You have Knockback weapons, and you have to find 2 wools and a record. The aesthetics, are pretty good, for that kind of map. It is dark and dreary, and the same pattern is pasted along the whole map. The gameplay is fun and creative, it is not a typical CTM. Some of the differences between this map and the first one, is that there is infinite spawning, and the map automatically resets if you die. You get "tips" at the beginning, and the aesthetics are better than its successor. The problem I had with the map was that the spawning was broken. When I hit "Start the Map" it drops me into a pit and gives me items. It is supposed to give you items and teleport you. But the fall damage killed me, so I eventually went into creative, then went back into survival once I got into the arena. Overall, this map is unique, and I would definitely recommend playing this.

Villagers don't care about damage value, item name, or lore text. For example say a villager is trading a notch apple for a Rhubarb (golden carrot). You could give him the Rhubarb for a notch apple (what a scam!) Or you could give him a normal golden carrot. Sorry :/

Meh, maybe that wouldn't work for him, but for leather armour you could change the color codes to ones unobtainable in game. When you get the sword or item it could come with a leather armour.
As long it is interesting and it brings a nice touch to the map, put all you want!
