Karrots, I have seen your map on your channel. It looks like it has great playability, I think you should skip betas for a map like yours it will just waste time. If you do encounter problems you can always update the map.
I can't disagree harder. DO NOT release a map without a beta - EVER.
Community Question: What tiers of armour do you have according to your intersections.
For me I have:
Enchanted leather Armour = first intersection
Mixed chain and iron Armour low enchants = second intersection
iron armor = third intersection
diamond/iron armour = fourth intersection
diamond armour = fifth
Thanks I may do open beta or something similar . I think it worked well with Dragos map Dreadsky isles as it hyped the map a LOT more.
Edit: sorry double post. Fang can you delete my last post?

Comments: ok so this map is bad because i cant do it. i played it so many times and i always goto to this one place with alot of loot in it, it has full gold armor and stuff and its awesome and i should be able to win the whole game right? and then all of a sudden a green cactus comes and blows up in my face and kills me and i lose. it makes me sad. so anyway, da other stuf is that the astetics or whateverare also very bad because when i look evrywhere the whole screen is graey besids where i am and that looks like grey poop. cause poop is funny. the creativity is cool because it gives me lots of stuff and thats so creative. the gameplay is weird because its so grey everywhere and i dont know why cactuss get to explode. but its still kool but the map is so teribl! yay!!!!
SCORE Asthetics: 0 Creativity: 9001 omg its over 9000 lol Gameplay: idk TOTAL: i cant add so idk, im sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Notice: This is a fake/joke review, based on a true story of me doing terrible on this one map. The map is actually really good so far, and if I ever get to the point where i can write an actual review on it, I probably will. Or if i beat a map in the near future of any other kind. Anyway, yeah.... Bye!
Also, edited because i swear the last time i was on the forums (like, 3 years ago) there wasnt a swearing rule, so i changed the profanity.
Sunburn Islands - 3.0
by Vechs (or Vetches, if you're Joe Hills)
Difficulty: 4 Overall Enjoyment: 8
Comments: This map definitely lives up for what its supposed to be. A relaxing Super Hostile - not kill you every 5 seconds Super Hostile. A map that will relax your warm heart of stress with some cool island breeze and an overflow of loot to play around with. If you played it before this version (3.0) , I suggest playing it again as it takes advantage of 1.5 Hoppers as well as a new storage system. The nice fence + sapling palm trees set the mood of the map very nicely, along with the various caves and occasional hard to spot treats, forming a good landscape. There are also some basic traps, such as pressure plate dispensers and (for lack of a better word(s)) mine coal > fall in sand traps, making it a good beginner map, as well as a Veteran map if you feel you need to relax and look at the palm trees. Finally, the gameplay. The gameplay is a little too easy or hard in some areas, depending on where you go. As this is open world, it could be expected, but could also catch you off guard. The dungeons themselves are pretty interesting, such as the 'Easy Newbie Dungeon', the Hall of Loot and Paintings, and an underwater area with creepers, so you may need to get some blocks to patch the inevitable creeper floods. So, all in all, Sunburn Islands does what it's meant to do - relax the veteran player, or be a good newbie map. The creativity is a little bland (besides the fence + leaf palm trees) and a certain dungeon I dont want to spoil ('Polar' opposites is a hint) and the gameplay is a little off, but is still a welcome addition to the Vechs series.
Before I end this off - fair warning to various people of various types of OCD - You're gonna have a heck of a time sorting through the chests. You have been warned.
If i missed something that I should add/edit to my review, please tell me. I'm new at this stuff, and basically took a shot in the dark at making one. (after joking around with my crap review, see above )
Also, with my Difficulty and OE ratings and the first SI, i swear i didnt mean for them to be the same - I tried my best not to look at the first, actually.

Therefore you are wrong on at least one point from earlier, now just going to find someone with lots of maps.
He doesn't consider them mini-maps, just abbreviated normal maps. And he does acknoledge that some of early maps were not that good (terrible). Doesn't really matter in the long run, however I still think Vechs was the first person to make a mini-map(for ctm's), or at the very least call it a mini-map.
Upon reading that glowing passage, I remarked to myself how terribly mentally deficient the reviewer must be! And how it would feel to view everything with such a dull understanding; to see the obvious and wonder at it; miracles at every turn! After reading the extraordinary account for a second time, I laughed. And cried, a little
XD
I enjoyed reading that, although it was very insulting. +1 rep methinks! I look forward to seeing how a properly conducted review of Skyward Ascent would look- hint hint people!
I have an idea for a CTM series that I might or might not create.
The series has to do with levels of a divine rift that separates the real world from the unknown that awaits you.
Each map increases in difficulty.
Map 1: Noobish-Easy
Map 2: Easy-Normal
Map 3: Medium-Semi-Hard
Map 4: Semi-Hard-Hard
Map 5: Hard-Very Hard
Map 6: Very Hard-ROMhack Hard
Map 7: ROMhack Hard-ROMhack++
Map 8: ROMhack++-Impossible
It is basically a ladder of difficulty over the span of the maps. I would urge the players to play the maps in order to have that difficulty curve that I want. The first map(fully planned), will take place in the first level of the rift that everyone tries to get through. Map 8 is basically the rift's final stand in attempt to wipe you from the face of the universe. I need ideas for rift-like areas that would fit with the maps, any ideas?
Also, those that are good at mapmaking, can you tell me the tools that I will need and possibly point me in the direction of tutorials that will teach me how to use these tools and filters. Thanks in advance.
Sounds interesting, 8 maps is a big goal but totally within the realm of possibility I might suggest that the rift lead somewhere for the last 3(ish) maps. Otherwise the whole "rift" theme could get a little boring. Maybe the rift leads to the planet where all these monsters are coming from? Sounds fun By the way this guys craftscripts are great if you like WE http://www.planetmin.../member/inhaze/
Hmm... I've done some testing with stacked with stacked entities, most recently having enderman on the bottom. This creates a kind of "teleporting mob" effect. However, if they are on the top they don't teleport. (Which basically means you cant use zombies or spiders.) Having skeletons, blaze. witches (very evil, doubt this would ever be used if I made a map) and creepers (probably my favorite, with shorter fuse ofc). I was surprised that the Enderman didn't teleport when the skeleton shot. Just thought I'd share this, I'm sure most of you have thought of it tho.

We're going to be talking about 3 maps each episode, this one is Desolate Dreamscape by kaider, Inferno Mines by Vechs and Rugged Horizons by Aimoskeeto!
We've mentioned our favourite/least favourite areas of each map, and basically had a discussion about each one!
Oh, and we mentioned GI Joe a bit >.>
Should be up soonish! We'll see how long it takes Kaider to upload it!
