I'm making a map, and I want to change the render distance for the player. I think I can do it, because they did it in the Herobrine's Mansion custom map.

I do not think it is possible with command blocks, but it may be easy with custom beacons using sethblings custom beacon filter. Then you set the blindness effect to the beacon in mc-edit, and ta-da, perfect. Just make sure the beacon in only having its effect on the part of the map you want, I think the beacon effect goes 40 blocks in all directions. Hope this helped!

I see. I thought they were command blocks, because there were pressure plates on the ground.
I actually think that they did use a command block, but they just didn't change the render distance but gave the blindness effect.
uummmm are you guys sure you cant because Im making a adventure map too and I need to set render distance to 32 but I can't figure out how
