Introduction Hey guys! So, "Cave-In" is a minigame created completely in the latest snapshot versions of vanilla MC. (14w11a specifically...) This game started out as a simple concept for an MC mechanic. Since then, it's gotten progressively more complex, and I can finally say that it is at the point of being an actual, playable (and pretty darn fun) minigame. I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed making it!
This map requires one of the newer snapshots for 1.8. It was created in 14w11a, so anything that or beyond should work fine. If you open it in 1.7.4 or earlier, you will need to re-download the world file, as it will likely be corrupted.
How to Play When the game begins, you are teleported to a walled off arena, and are issued a three second countdown. When the countdown ends, blocks start falling from high above you, following any move you make. Your goal in the game is to climb whatever mountain you have formed with the falling blocks, until your feet are above a certain height which is marked off by a layer of particles. There are four base game difficulties, two unlockable difficulties, and two more unlockable bonus levels. Each one provides for a different experience, making it new and challenging each time! The map download includes a manual, directly in front of you when you first spawn, which explains everything more in-depth.
Other Notes This map is multiplayer compatible, in that multiple people can be online at once while the game is played. Only one player can play Cave-In at once, but spectating is allowed and encouraged.

Hi there!
I tried to download this map, and when I put it onto a server and hit the start game button, I saw the countdown but nothing happened. I went into the arena manually and nothing happened again :C I tried putting it on singleplayer with the minecraft snapshot version that you listed above and same as before..
Hey EliotsGraphics! When you used the snapshot version, did you use a re-downloaded version of the map? If you used the same world file, it could have become corrupted when you opened it in an earlier version. I would try re-downloading it, and playing it exclusively in the new snapshot. Let me know if it works for you!
hi there!
I was EliotsGraphics that posted above! I just redownloaded it and it worked great! I made a video for my channel on it, if you want to post it on the thread that's fine with me! This mini-game was extremely fun and addicting though so great job!!

Glad you enjoyed it! (Despite the typo ;P) I'll be posting a link to your video on both posts that I've done.

What typo?
Also I'm not sure if it's a visual bug or just minecraft but when I reset the playing field there's usually a large empty hole in the playing field but when I start the match it's fine again:)

The "preforming" as opposed to "performing" typo.
And that's a Minecraft bug. A chunk update error from the reset. It should be fixed when you move closer.
I loaded it up in 1.7.5, but it won't work properly. It doesn't teleport me to the arena when the game starts.
It doesn't work properly unless you use one of the newer 1.8 snapshot development versions. ie. "14w11b"
You'll have to re-download it, and use it exclusively in the version I mentioned (or newer.)
Great idea... It reminds me of a game in the gamemakers apprentice book.
did you know of that or am I off in left field?
Never heard of it.
Actually, there really wasn't any direct inspiration for this game. The idea just popped into my head while I was experimenting.
I'm glad you enjoy it!

My client keeps telling me 1.7.5 is the newest version and won't let me download snapshots. Is this a bug, or is 1.7.5 the newest version?

The map is multiplayer friendly, however, the game itself is only one player at a time.
