The Original Unearthly Encounters CTM Series (3/1/13 d/m/y starting date).
Unearthly Encounters is a CTM series, not going to lie here, JUST like the others! In this map, you are tasked with the challenge of completing the monument of 16 wool and 3 Metal/Mineral/Resource Blocks. The series is designed to have unexpected turns, jumps in difficulty, and oh yeah, ENCOUNTERS.
The Rules of any Standard CTM Series: 1. Find and complete the Wool Monument. 2. Survive in any way possible, that is, without leaving the map boundaries or making ender chests. 3. Do not make spider string wool for the monument. You may use spider string wool for other purposes, but not the monument. 4. You may craft the metal blocks for the monument. 5. NEVER play on Peaceful, only play easy or above.
6. Pay attention to map ratings and difficulty suggestions. The map ratings are as follows. 1-10: Easy, training maps. 11-15: Easy, full maps. 16-25: Moderate maps. These maps are standard, on the same level as Inferno Mines. 26-30: Medium maps. These maps are on par with Waking Up. 31-40: Slightly Harder maps. These are on par with Nightmare Realms. 41-60: Hard maps. These maps are designed from the start to be difficult, but have a nice jump somewhere in the map. Not recommended for new CTM players. 61-80: Hardmode. These are the standard maps in the series. They are designed to be extremely large, and extremely difficult. Areas have playtimes of 1-2 hours. The map has a story usually. 81-100: Hardmode +. These maps would be on par with Ragecraft or Pantheon, without a set size for areas. They tend to have randomly sized areas, ranging from large to small, and push Minecraft's difficulty to the limit. These maps are not recommended for casual CTM players.
The Difficulty Suggestion Scale is a scale for suggesting the difficulty maps are played on for different kinds of players. Each map has its own suggestion scale, and each map is rated differently.
Maps: Unearthly Encounters I *Version 2.1 FINAL* After a long debate, I have decided to fix, update, then subsequently abandon this map. It is released in its final form. As I have abandoned it, I cannot provide up to date screenshots. I do sincerely apologize if you'd like to test the waters first, but what's done is done. It's up to you to decide if you want to play this map. I'm not going to make you play it, nor make you like it. http://www.fileswap.com/dl/r5k3rN1iJi/Unearthly_Encounters_I_(V2.1).zip.html
Unearthly Encounters II: Flaming Abyss (Hiatus) Official Hiatus, but a brief description is a combination of Ragecraft and my own mapping style. Featuring short, unique challenges for bonuses, long, painful areas, unique takes on intersections and my own blend of flavors and spices, you'll find this map a welcome surprise that will leave you with grease on your face a disgusted, pained look on your face. Map Rating: 98.6. Just kidding, the temperatures here go off the map rating scale.
Difficulty Suggestion: Casual = Peaceful, but that's against the rules. Veteran = Easy, possibly normal. God or Goddess = UHC. Mapmaker = Normal.
PICTURES EARLY ALPHA
Unearthly Encounters III: Skyward Souls (WIP) A Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword themed map which takes you on a journey through the lore and creations of the lands we have today in the world of my maps. The goal is CTM, but the theme is creation of the new world.
The Lore is that you are working with the gods to create the new world, the old having been destroyed due to the invasion of a dark evil that had overtaken the lands of old. For thousands of years, the world was in pieces. Now, there's a second chance.
Me and my friend played the second one I think. The pathing was terrible and we got lost, it had no erosion, you had TWO of the same wool areas, and it's just terrible. I'm sorry, but try again.

Played the second one? It's not out yet. It is very, very early beta. Wrong thread? In the case that it is the wrong thread, I'd ask that you'd remove the comment; it's inaccurate (haven't reused areas or released map II) and it slanders the map. Also, the comment didn't give any detail on the problem; what areas?

I'm really sorry for spamming you and my own thread but really, this comment is driving me crazy. You tell me the second map, which isn't out yet, is terrible, that the pathing is terrible, and I had 2 wool areas that were the same. The first map has only been (to my knowledge) played in MP by beta testers, me and my IRL friend. Even if you're talking about the first map, you can see erosion in the early beta pictures, and the same with the second. I don't see how it's actually possible for me to have the same wool area twice, when I haven't copied and pasted any areas whatsoever. You inform me that the pathing is terrible without giving me info; paths such as leading you around, or mob pathfinding? It can't be being led around, because the map isn't open world; it can't be the latter because I don't rely on mobs being smart in the map at all. With the little description given, it doesn't sound like THIS map. It doesn't sound like you "played" it either; the black wool is something no one could forget. Either way, your initial judgement is extremely harsh, veteran mapmaker or not.
Sometimes I really love picking apart comments, piece by piece, especially when they leave snide judgments at the end that usually end up sending me into a crazed outrage. Maybe you should try again, rather than rating it badly and not being specific.
Either way, thanks for the "feedback" although I'm hesitant to even call it that, since it seems to not relate to this map at all.

And a day later, no reply. Thanks for both the spam and absolute lies. In the end, if this map series completely flops, I'm blaming it on you, and only you.
In all honesty the screenshots look very bad, they are very bland and they are extremely empty. I am not going to try the map for this reason. If you don't believe this is an accurate comment please post better screenshots of better areas.

I didn't even notice my beta screenshot was still up. Thanks for the heads up. Also, the screenshot of map 2 is supposed to be bland. That's early alpha. In all honesty, talking about map II, that's as much as I have. Can't update that.

Don't tell me it's bad and to try again; you're just being a ****. I don't care what you think, play the whole map then rate it.

Second map, eh, I just finished the first map. I don't want to get really far in on it yet, I'll get burned out.

I'll review it if you like, but it probably wont be positive, it will give you a lot of good advice though.
