Is Pinnacle Catacombs going to be graveyard themed? Because I don't think graves fit well in a cave. I don't know, but you might be able to do something, I just can't visualize it.
Also, school started last week. I apologise for not checking this thread often (although I check notifications every day).
EDIT: Dang it Sketch, I was going to reply when you did...
There is actually a (partly) graveyard-themed area in the map, but it's not Pinnacle Catacombs.
Also, now that I have Worldedit and Build Commands working for 1.6, I'm finally able to jump into mapmaking again after a month. Here's what I did yesterday (WIP):
I love the new clay blocks.
(And by the way, as long as I don't get too picture-happy, I plan on only releasing two more preview screenshots for the rest of map construction, so those might slow down a bit. I'll still give some progress updates when I feel it's appropriate.)
Definitely up there on my maps to LP next cant wait for release!
Awesome. I look forward to seeing that.
Anyways, Progress Update:
This morning I managed to finish up Pinnacle Catacombs and Intersection 4. Both turned out nicely. I'm not posting a screenshot of Intersection 4, but let's just say it utilizes stained clay quite well. I'll see if I can get a head start on Pneumatica later today.
And while finishing up Pinnacle Catacombs, I realized how massive Intersection 3 as a whole is. I spent over 40 hours just on that intersection, which is more than I took for Intersections 1 and 2 combined. Pinnacle Cavern and Pinnacle Catacombs are most likely going to end up being the two largest areas in the map, and I really like how both of them turned out. And since I went through a month of not working on anything, it's probably been two months since I finished Intersection 2. Seriously, it kinda feels weird to have moved on to a different intersection.
That being said, I can (hopefully) guarantee that Intersections 4 and 5 won't take two months each. Intersection 4's areas aren't too massive, so I can probably finish that within another two weeks or so. Intersection 5 might take a bit longer, but it probably won't be more than three weeks to a month. My original goal was to have the map released by the time my summer break ends (around August 20th or something like that). I doubt that's going to happen, but I think the map will at least be in beta testing by then.

That Looks soooooo Sexy brotha, i like what u did with that clay :D, i cant wait for this map, but im afraid it mgiht be to big for me to handle lol (not what she said :P) Do u have a projected release date?

The map will be pretty big, but it won't be too difficult, so as long as you don't get bored you should be fine. I'm adding teleports at every intersection and a decent amount of loot to try and prevent that.
Projected release date is late August, although that can vary. I can make areas very quickly when I concentrate. For example, Pinnacle Cavern, the largest area in the map, was made in three days. What you see in that most recent screenshot was made in one day (although I've been adding on to it since then).

Ok thanks bor, i cant wait to play it :D, How long do u spend on an area to consider it a "day" like 4-6 hours?
I would like to do a video of this map. It looks amazing. If you want me to do a video before release let me know.
Thanks for the offer, but I don't want anyone LPing the map before release. If anything I might let the beta testers, but even that I'm not sure about.
Wait... is it my memory, or was I4 supposed to be named Artist's Block or something like that?
It was originally Painter's Block, but I changed it because I had a better idea for an intersection.
Progress Update:
I haven't worked on the map in the past few days, partly because I've been at a bit of a standstill. Originally I had the idea for Pneumatica, but... I don't know. Something about it just doesn't seem right, and the layout of the map makes it a bit difficult for me to make. For now I'm going to work on the other two areas in the intersection and then return there when I've either found a solution or come up with a different area idea. I might also be changing The Scorch to an entirely different area, but I'm not quite sure about that yet. I'll think of something.
Edit: Found a solution. I'm keeping the concept of Pneumatica, but I just have to move it to a different side of the intersection it comes off of. I haven't made a decision about The Scorch yet, but that area's still pretty far away when it comes to when I'm making it.
Also, I quickly took the time to add a death counter enabler to the starting area and a few (small) aesthetic changes to Overgrown Outpost. When the map is done, I might go and put more detail into the first few areas. (That would go under the 'post-creation tweaks and trailer' category.)
Additional Edit: I now have much more respect for people who can build giant death fortresses. It takes a long time. I've been working on one for over three hours and I just finished the outer wall.
Additional Additional Edit: After looking over Trust Fall, I've realized it's kind of a tunneling area, and because of that I'm not too satisfied with it. I might change it to some kind of jump boost CTM-parkour hybrid area.
This post is getting really long with all the edits.
Oh, and I hope you don't do random stuff to prevent people from playing the map as they like it. I've heard some map makers have something against tactics such as bridging and carpet bombing.

Because the map is meant to be relatively easy, I'm not including any of that stuff. All I've got in areas that are easy to beat with "cheaty" methods are books saying it'll take away from the experience. If at some point I find out that I should include something like that (like if testers tell me or something), then I'll add it, but I'm not planning on doing so before then.
And thanks for commenting. I was getting tired of editing that previous post.
As much as I'd like to say something helpful, I don't have anything to say, other than good luck with the map, and I'm definitely excited for it.
Also, I hate to ask (because I may sound impatient, and it may make you want to rush) but what's your estimate the map will be done by? Again, I don't want to feel like you need to rush, but I'm just really excited for the map! So good luck, hopefully have fun making it (if that's possible, I have no idea how that stuff works) and can't wait to play it!

The most specific date I can give you for release is September. I'll probably be done with the building of the map by around mid-late August, and then I have to do testing (alpha and beta). And somewhere in the midst of all that I'm putting together a trailer.

Umm... this is Sketch we are talking about. Although I also am rather interested.
With five hours of erosion and block variation.

Depending on how busy I am on said day, it can be anywhere from 3 to 8 hours. Most of the time it's around 5 or 6.

And I thought that this thread was dead. Where is everyone else?
Wait... Projectile Haven... what's the main concept like? We haven't seen a screenshot for a while, even if it was just another Karrott.
I actually posted a screenshot of it over in the CTM community thread, so I might as well put it here too.
Note that there's no loot or spawners yet.
