Everything except the map and the book cover. Those are compilations made using photographs I've taken and processed digitally. Santiago3 does awesome work though!
Some of the shots on the Imgur album were created with a vectoring program that makes them smoother and gives them shadows.

I've been working up some new test structures for the sequel: Letters From A Dead Earth 2: Gasoline Dorado. The first shot is of some new structures I'm experimenting with, and the second is a shot of a repurposed structure-- a tract home from the first map that's been through some tough times!
A sequel? *faints*
But the first one. . . is so big. . . so much to do. . . love. . . overload. . .want. . . more.. . time. . .. . . to . . . play. . . .
how do you take pcitures of the screen? I am loving this map and all the awesome stuff in it!
F2 is what you want to press for Minecraft. Then if you are on windows go to the start menu and type "%appdata%" into the search bar and hit enter. Navigate into ".minecraft" then the "screenshots" folder and there will be your screenshot!
Alternatively you can press printscreen on your keyboard and paste it into paint or something like it. lol

My wife and I were watching the vid and we both thought it was funny that the first book your team found was the one with the quote by E.E. Cummings. It's not part of the storyline, more of something that's there to add some flavor to the map.

Yea thats pretty cool! I kinda figured they were extras by episode three or four. Reason being that we found a few more of the extras and then finally stumbled upon a story book. They are very well hidden... Or are we just bad at looking? But either way... Nice work!
Haha, nah, they're meant to be pretty well hidden, but not unreasonably so. There's only one story-related book at the bottom of an ocean, but even that one is in an area where the terrain suggests there might be something down there.
Most of them are in chests, furnaces or dispensers more or less in plain sight though. It's just a big map, hehe.

I've also modified the description a little to avoid future confusion about this map, haha. It's free play, meaning you can do whatever you want in it. There are no rules.

The map with the pins is the map of the minecraft map. Once you start collecting bits of the story and start exploring, it's supposed to become apparent where each city is. Like a puzzle. But, to give you a hint, you start in Citrus Flats.
The quests are essentially to collect the books. There are two different kinds of books in the game. Storyline books (numbered) and flavor books (named.) There are also other secret books which you can collect all of as well.
The point, I suppose, is just to relax, explore and have fun. Play it like normal survival.

I'm only playing with 1 rule which is don't destroy anything in buildings... Only because it feels it would be too easy to gather resources.
