Do you think that you could make the texture pack a separate download? Because I played this with a couple of friends on multi-player and it was annoying having to download the map as well.
Well, this is the saddest Minecraft map I've played so far. The last grave was terrible and the nightlight later on ... ;_;
Ahem. This map is very well designed - the buildings fit right in with the terrain, and the interiors are furnished well. The chest contents in particular (along with more freedom than usual in the rules) lent to a much more natural experience than most adventure maps. I was sucked in pretty much immediately, which made the emotional parts all the more powerful. The guides from one location to the next were just sparse enough to feel like you were exploring without getting lost. Climbing up a hill to look over a town was fun, but when night fell the creepiness factor set in quickly. Everything just flowed very well.
... aaaaaat least until the mine that is, which I could not locate after half an hour of wandering around, getting lost and finding out that the codeword was apparently 'diamonds' but no more than that. It doesn't help that there's at least one cavern system right between the two towns; I came back to that after finding torches and was a little disappointed to not even find a chest down there. At this point I've given up, which is a shame given how good the first part was.
Other than that, the notes could use proofreading. The signs around town were a excessive at times. ("Upstairs", and the 'prices rising due to lack of stock' would be fine just implied.) The number of notes repeating basically the same thing was also a little tedious after a while, so a bit more personality or mentioning some other world-building elements would help. Really, all this map needs is a touch up to the writing, a .txt hintfile and maybe a few more thematic easter eggs around the countryside to be amazing.

I can see where you are getting confused. I will PM you to help you out with it. Anyway I appreciate the review. As for the code word "diamonds" That was a bug on my fault. I was originally planning on using it as a "check" for a high score table I was planning on implementing. If someone said that they found 50 ingots I would say "ok then whats the code word?" I later decided to take out the high score idea, but forgot about the sign that said the code word. In a future update I will remove the sign. Apologies for that. As for excessive notes, I only used them to enhance the story, and allow for the player to get to know the characters. I hope with a little help, I can help you continue the map. Again, thanks for taking the time to let me know about this.
Nice! That is the best score posted so far. Be proud, ingots are not easy to find.
It is also good to hear this map has some replay value. :tongue.gif:
This map is amazing! However, I am having the same issue as Nameless. I loved the first part of the map, but I can't find the mine. A PM would be greatly appreciated!
*edit*
never mind, I found it. This was the best adventure map I have ever played. The suspense throughout the story kept me wanting to find more answers and driving me on. It was very compelling. The twist was brilliant. I enjoyed this map very much.

I am very happy you enjoyed it! It appears a few people have gotten stuck at that part. I really feel bad for the people that really get into the story and than get stuck at one part. Remember to post how many point you got!!
I will be going on vacation for 2 weeks and will have limited internet access. I will still read and reply to all comments, and upload your playthroughs. Just don't expect it to happen right away. :tongue.gif:
Just a hint for recording videos (trailers), pressing "F8" will make the camera smooth, useful for cinematic shots. You can experiment with it in-game to see what I mean.

I didn't realize you could do that. Thanks for the tip! I hope you enjoy the map. Let me know how it goes!

Hmm Ill PM you.
I don't mind at all. In fact, depending on the type of video I might put it in the playthroughs section. :smile.gif:
