Also, I can't add any of the new things from the Portal gun mod yet, because I can't update to 1.7.3 yet, because the VerticalRedstone by DJoslin hasn't been updated yet! The outside (and inside) of my map RELIES on VerticalRedstone to work. I wish DJoslin would hurry up!
If you want to see more, everyone should go bug him to update VerticalRedstone :tongue.gif:
all the chambers should be easy now with the Portal spawners and stuff. and now Radios :biggrin.gif:. and so should chamber 2 now with the portal pedistal. For the Glados battle. what im doing is making her have 3 cores attatched and the logistics core on the ground and im making it with a Piston activated incinorator with timer and ive got a HEP catcher planted on glados with TNT behind it ready to blow. And in the side of the room a small glass opening which a portal can be fired and inside a automated HEP. The only problems i see with ALL glados battles is theres nothing stopping you from just going an killing glados before you destroy the cores. Anyway really nice map and i like the textures and the idea of using speakerblock was one i never thought of doing :biggrin.gif:. Cant wait for its release
I've already added Portal Spawners, single color guns, and pedestals to the appropriate chambers. I've finished most of Test Chamber 18 and am still working out a few minor bugs in the other test chambers, such as music, spawners, and GlaDOS sounds. A few other problems were caused by the switch from mod pistons to vanilla pistons because they act differently.
You could make the torches invisible or add glowstone instead. I'm actually working on a map that uses furnaces as another source of light, they are textured as the glass lights from portal 2 (the ones on the metal wall)
I kind of like the torches. But that would look very nice! Though maybe jack o lanterns instead of furnaces? The furnaces would stop at some point, right?
And I'm using glowstone, for the observation windows.
Wow, this looks great. It's funny, I've had the exact same idea, but you've beaten me to it...you could use controllerbloc as a substitute for moving platforms until iChun adds them (hopefully) to the mod.
Do you mind pointing me in the direction of where you got the sounds from? A download or did you just extract them from the game itself?

The thing is that i already used Jack o' Lanterns for the wall of light on the Extended Relaxation chamber and the Glowstone for the Wall lights, so i got stuck with the lit furnace block (Data value 62) for the Glass Lights.
I'm also thinking about replacing all the lit furnace blocks for Jack o' Lanterns and using the furnaces for the Relaxation Chamber's wall.
PS: Try adding a glass layer before a painting placed over the Glowstone layer on the Observation rooms, like this:
GLASS PAINT G.STONE
LAYER ING LAYER
This will add more depth to the room and also let you use glowstone for other things.
hm... so, for this to work, we need portal gun mod, modloader, audiomod, vertical redstone, the texture pack, and speaker mod? wow. i just need the texture pack, speaker mod, and vertical. but i will check in every day to see if it's done... just hope he updates vertical redstone.
Technically, the SpeakerBlock mod is optional. But if you don't install it you won't hear any music, button sound effects, or GLaDOS!
Beta situation:
I don't feel comfortable sending out betas to people I don't know. For beta testing, I'm testing it out myself, as well as having friends come over to my house and play the map. I have a few friends who I've sent a copy of the map over to test out. Basically unless you're a good friend of mine you're not going to be playing this until I release it. I want it to be totally finished when I post the download link.
Also, I may do advanced maps, tests from Portal 2 (maybe with faith plates), brand new chambers, and other bonuses, but those will be released in an update.
Finally, a question about the escape/behind the scenes:
I seriously have NO IDEA what I'm going to do for the escape and GLaDOS battle. I might do it, I might not… what would you guys prefer? Maybe I'll release it when I finish chamber 19 (at this point I'm almost done with 18) and then if I decide to do the escape I'll release that separately or in an update?

YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!! i can't wait, i'm guessing that the release date will be within the next hm.... 3 or 4 days? PLEEEEEEASSSSSSE
No, not in the next three or four days. I still have a lot to do. But here's a DEMO with the first 10 test chambers! (00-09)
These are the same chambers available in Portal: The First Slice, the official demo of Portal.
The readme file has details on where to get each of the mods needed. The texture pack (regular and HD) is also included. Some textures are from the Precisely Portalcraft pack, but most are made from scratch by me.

How bout I send you the Terrain.png so you can put it into a folder? It seems whenever I use my mac's zip feature it never works.
Ahh, that's hat you're doing wrong. I had the same problem at first. Instead of zipping the folder, select all of the contents at once and right click any of them and zip it that way. That will work.

This map should definitely be more popular ~

So… here it is!
Download: http://adf.ly/28iHA
Sorry for using Adfly :/
I just tried this, ended up with a black login...
In what order do I have to install these mods? I installed in this order:
ModLoader
AudioMod
Vertical Redstone
Buildcraft (I installed the A_core, that's correct right?)
Logical Gates
Portal Gun
Speaker Block
Black screen of death :sad.gif:
I hope you make a patcher/installer when you release this "mod", as it requires many additional mods.
I might… but I'd have to talk to everyone who makes every mod and ask them for permission to include them.
And I'm not going to write out all the notes in the song planner...
Anyway, what would you guys most like to see? I'm going to put up a poll.
