Is there any way to make a mob poison you upon death unless you kill it a certain way, with my particular need being with fire?
I'm trying to think of a way to have mobs that inflict Poison III unless you kill it with fire, sort of like the Engorged Zombies from the Painted World of Ariamis, which inflict toxic upon you unless you kill them with a fire weapon.

Inflicting an effect on death is impossible afaik, much more so excluding fire deaths.
Well, stacking a splash potion on a mob, it falls and pops when they die.
Unless you do the death by bow from range, probably not. But it would work well if you did it so the effects happen only if you didn't use ranged weapons.
Amlup made it so if you kill a mob with one certain type of damage it won't drop a potion or something bad and all other types of damage make it drop the potion?
How?

He didn't. WaterTipper probably misunderstood the question. No matter how Amlup's zombies die, the potion drops.

Oh, I thought you were asking how you would make the potion drop from a mob.
As for the potion dropping when you kill the mob a specific way, I'm not sure.
Edit: I messed around with some negative Fire Protection, but no luck.
Try speedrunning inferno mines in 1.6.2, food is a major pain
I know what you mean, in 1.5.2 I never had a problem with food, but in 1.6.2 I ran out at the Lower Mines and had to resort to eating cookies and rotten flesh. But still it makes it more of a challenge.

But that's impossible to filter how it would drop. Unless some wizardry is done I don't think that would be possible anytime soon.
Technically exists.
Amlup pulled it off...

I thought it did?
It does. It only shows up if you dont have internet. Also why are you posting this here? It seems a very off-topic.

Oh I don't get that (idk why it was just cause I'm playing CTMs in the older launcher and it's making me angry)
