Map wise, I think Legendary is a kind of center, hub type area, with the other areas connected in some way. Sea of Flames would be in the Merciless Magma Zone, Endless Deep would be connected by some of the underground rivers in Waking Up to the East Commons, Infernal Sky would be above the Forlorn Rest, Black Desert is connected to the twisty tunnels in legendary and is over Kaizo Caverns, Sunburn Islands + Canopy Carnage inhabit the ocean of Endless Deep, Nightmare Realm is nether linked to the face of evil, Inferno Mines would be under Merciless magma, and spellbound caves would be a link between inferno mines + kaizo. (Lethamyr would just be near sunburn + canopy). This would make Legendary + Endless Deep the 2 main hubs between the various maps/worlds.
Just default textures usually. Sometimes I use a simple pack (like OCD), but I always end up going to default again.

Of course to make sure you do things right, the difficulty would ramp up very heavily. Backtracking hell here we come.
My friend Ajax and I have started a playthrough of Inferno Mines. Even though we have played a few SH maps before we aren't very good at them, so expect much failure :).

I'd consider this method very annoying for an actual map, because of how close the various maps would be, causing heavy amounts of lag. You could use teleports to make it work well, though moving loot would have to be stopped somehow (Otherwise, you'd just get to east commons and get full enchanted diamond for the rest of the map...). Maybe make some form of detection, so if someone, say, beat waking up then returned to legendary, they would get a bonus of some good loot slightly above the normal loot craftable at that point (This way someone doesn't take an enchanted diamond sword because you could find one already).
Dang, I was fooling around in the Nether part of IWHF and I was destroying creeper spawners w/ the Power Miner 1000, one creeper blew up which shot me onto a railing, I backed off, I landed on a one block wide walkway with half a heart left, and then escaped alive. I only lived because I put on some gold Feather Falling IV boots...
Power Miners help a lot with the beginning area of the Nether part of IWHF.
Vechs has stated that he does not like to make maps based around mods because sometimes the mod gets outdated or not updated anymore. Aether is a great example because before Aether II, the last version of the mod was released around a year ago. You can ask someone else, but as for Vechs, I know he stands firm on that policy.

I always felt that was a rather narrow-sighted way of looking at things. How many people, in this day and age, use MCnostalgia often? Not just for CTM, but for plenty of other things too. I think the whole not-being-updated thing is really not that big of a deal... I doubt anyone would have any qualms with reverting back to a version using MCnostalgia, especially for something like an Aether CTM.

this thread would turn into "how do I the ether 2s?"
So, any news on FK, CC2, BD2, 13 or 15? I don't check twitter very often, so I don't know if he's said anything on the subject.
Also, someone should compile a map like that, where all the SH maps are in the same world, and when you finish one, it clears your inventory and teleports you to the next one.
Nothing new. I imagine Vechs is taking a break from mapping after finishing Inferno Mines.
A compilation map sounds nice, but it's probably too much effort for just loading up all the save files into your maps folder. Not to mention you'd have to ask Vechs for permission first, and he is a slippery man nowadays.
Hey guys, i wanted to do another quick community question: What's your favorite texture pack to play CTM's in? (Besides vanilla obviously )
Faithful32, with a few minor mods by me to some textures (eg the glass texture). Draws a good balance between good looks and keeping the game looking like vanilla. That way, I see maps the way they were intended while avoiding the blurry mess of the default.
I also really dislike it when a map requests me to get a custom texture pack, because it means that the mapper can be lazy while I have to work hard, and it's usually the other way around.

This - This is why we keep you around Hybran. lol
Also: I wonder if the new attribute system will allow for food that gives effects when eaten. And if there will be a tag to hide attributes. And if Vechs will poison all our cookies or not. :-3

unarmed skeletons in Lush Ruins? They pose zero threat except as armor eaters. My only guess is that they are supposed to grab weapons and use them against you if a creeper blows up a loot chest, but most players are careful enough to avoid that, it seems.
Vaks needs to make dis. Nao
Now I only need to do IWHF to finish Waking Up D:

what is this, the fifteenth time I've heard this?

Technically exists.

Is the black wool in the diamond room of IWHF?

I decided to cheese the black wool w/ invis pots:
Lol, the only SHs I need to finish that are still downloadable are Lethamyr and Canopy Carnage.
Why did you need to repeat the question? I didn't ask for a repeat, I'm not in a spelling bee.
Anyways, #2 used to be Endless Deep but that got removed from the main SH series and the new #2 is going to be Fallen Kingdom.
YOU'LL NEVER GET ME! AHAHAHAHA!

Danger zone.

Silly Red, you're just a block of glowstone

After checking his video I have seemed to fix it. I feel silly since it seems it was just an issue with java and updating it fixed the problem.
Now I can finish the map~ Thanks
