"Hypixel's builder guy" is Gazamo.
Hypixel gets all the credit though.
Thanks!

There ain't much left of the world these days. The gods have forsaken us, there's no denying that. But still you press on. For what? A chance to sift through the ashes one last time? The hope to one day be called a hero? Whatever your reason, you've got a lot of work to do. The corruption won't leave without a fight, so you better get started.
Yeah, this. If you're going to give criticism, don't just say "It sucks because it sucks" give actual details on why you think it sucks.
I mean, to be fair, Herobrine's Return's combat was actually quite well designed when compared the Mansion. The story didn't make a ton of sense, but the redstone and effects behind it, plus appearance and design was quite nice.
Please do elaborate on what 'it' is that Hypixal does poorly regarding that.
If find boss fights to be a grind. They have a large amount of health, and since you respawn right next to them, you're just dying, landing a few hits, and dying again. It's sooo repetitive. There's a similar feel when fighting his non-boss mobs. And since he doesn't actually do the visuals in his maps, he deserves none of the fame he has.
I think the boss fights + normal fights were mostly meh. THe vast majority of his normal mobs are just meatshields. At the very least he could use some variety, other than zombie, skeleton, and wither skeleton. It would play better with some cave spiders + spiders, maybe some pig zombies. Some mobs that make it harder without resorting to meatshields. The boss fights would also play better if the bosses had much less health.
Really? Every Hypixel map I've played has been good fun (except for the rare tedious tank) and the newest one is amazing.

Villager: Oh no! Our village is being destroyed!
[Insert player name here]: Don't worry! I'll save the village from [Insert boss name here]! Cue renamed loot Cue overused basic enemies Cue left-clicking repeatedly Cue left-clicking repeatedly Cue left-clicking repeatedly Cue left-clicking repeatedly Cue corny dialogue Cue anticlimactic ending
The redstone mechanics in his maps are fantastic, but not much else.

I can beat that boss on hard without dying. One of these days, when I get a computer good enough to record, I will keep to my promise now and show that. Your problem is 2 things -- you're not good at combat, and you're too laggy to play right. Like, that lag surpasses me. And the recording is probably lagging it even more, making your argument somewhat cherry picked. Also, OH LORD, A BOSS WITH A LOT OF HEALTH?! THAT'S COMPLETELY FRIGGIN CRAZY!

- Yes because games that have villages that get attacked by bosses SUCK! Which is why Skyrim must suck too, right?
- Renamed loot? Oh gee it's a good thing you'd never see that in a CTM map.
- Overused basic enemies? You'll probably fight the same exact enemy hundreds of times in Borderlands, but that isn't considered a low point. And even in CTM maps and Minecraft, you have... big shocker here... THE SAME KIND OF ENEMIES!
- Considering you left click to fight, you'd die as much as yelkca_ if you didn't.
- It's an adventure map. If it isn't your thing, fine, don't play it. The dialogue will feel corny to those that don't love them.
- Anticlimactic ending? It's almost like there's going to be a sequel to the map :O
Well, i do agree that some of his mobs were tedious (all of them if you're talking about the mansion), but i think that in the second herobrine one he did a pretty good job with some boss fights. I liked the witch battle because it actually wasnt a zombie with ridiculous amounts of health like most of the other ones, but yes, lots of his boss fights are very boring.

1. The lag is just in the recording. While I was playing, it ran smoothly. Also, I played it once before without recording and had an even worse experience.
2. You can't act like I'm an isolated case and that I'm "just bad at combat". The majority of people on the thread had similar experiences, and most of them are at least pretty good at combat.
3: There are ways to make a boss with a lot of health and not make it a grind. Hypixel is obviously not familiar with such ways.
EDIT: We should probably stop talking about unrelated maps. Fangride deleted the entire conversation last time.

You're talking like yelkca_ is the only person that isn't good at combat. Even if the person playing isn't a good PvE'er, he should still be enjoying the map, not spamming left click and dying over and over again.
Also, if a map is laggy, unless the person owns the worst computer in the world, it's the mapmaker's fault for making it laggy in the first place. "Like, that lag surpasses me."

- I was pointing out how all of Hypixel's maps' storylines go. It's always the same thing.
- Your point? :/
- In Hypixel's maps, you fight the same enemies over and over and over. In Herobrine's Mansion, it was the two zombies in iron armor and a skeleton. In Herobrine's Return, it was the diamond armor zombie and the Wither Skeleton. He could have at least made them a little bit unique and not use the exact same custom mobs at every single part of the map :/
- Hypixel doesn't tend to use any unique gameplay mechanics to defeat enemies. It's just taking hits and spamming left click.
- "I fear Herobrine has come back to seek vengeance." "I can feel his presence, he has become stronger." "I am going to tear your world apart, bring chaos and destruction." "You coward, I'll fight you." That's the most stilted dialogue I've seen.
- There was a sequel to Hypixel's Zombie Apocalypse? :O
Agreed.
Perhaps, but that again falls into the same issues as Minecraft -- the combat isn't exactly spectacularly advanced. (It's no Bioshock Infinite.)
We work with what we can.
WHAT?!

Yes. And Hypixel does it poorly.

Sums it up perfectly.
