I don't know about the other ones, but Zombe definitely not only doesn't work with Forge but is also incompatible with it. Optifine doesn't use Forge; certain versions of it just coexist with Forge. I don't know if the other mods use Forge, but I know that they don't require it.
EDIT: I found an unofficial Forge patch for Zombe. Still, what's the point of Forge?

It's the modder desition to make their mods forge/modloader/whatever compatible. I guess because maybe it's WAY easier working with one, or maybe another one has many other features than the first, and you feel comfy by working with it. Idk boy, but most of the mods are now for Forge, I guess because it's better than Modloader. I suggest you using MagicLauncher or MultiMC to install it, its super easy, and there's no "pain in the neck". I think Modloader is good, but very old. There are not many modloader only mods that you most have forge mods then you can never play with them.

I must disagree with this completely.
1. It is Optifine's refusal to cooperate with MinecraftForge that causes the issues.
2. How would it be possible to install 50+ mods at once without a compatibility layer like Forge/FML . With even 2+ mods you start running into compatibility problems if they don't use Forge/FML.
Ugh, why?! It's such a massive pain in the neck. It's called FML for a reason. None of the other mods I like use it (Better Animations, Zombe, Optifine, Better Sprinting, Rei Minimap).
they are all compatible though! I'm using I'm using them all with forge! (Besides animated player, i decided to replace that for improved first person view. but i was using animated player for at least 6-8 months with forge)

So-so, looking at mid next week to finish, I have an exam on Monday and then I don't have another until the 26th, so I have a good break to code assuming my family doesn't decide to run off on some stupid "family bonding" trip...

When you get the chance, a bug I noticed was that when you try to move the slider to make something shorter or longer, or make it stay there longer, it automatically goes to the smallest size possible. Thanks for continuing this mod as well! I hope its not too frustrating.

Not really. The demand for the mob is pretty fairly judged, and there's a hard limit to how much time maxpowa is willing to spend. There simply isn't any more time available, and the complaints are really just whining.

As for the bugs and missing elements, I'm working on fixing/rewriting but I feel some of the work I'm doing might be pointless because how close 1.6 is. With that said, I will keep compiling against 1.5.2 until I see a stable version of 1.6 forge come out.
