I like the concept of similar to "mount and blade" game. But for now, I was hoping is to get a musketeer to attack since the game is released. This game called "mount and musket". It was a game that has 50 more players and using muskets to fight by line column attack on the enemy fronts. Still, making the soldiers do a line formation is pain to script. But I like the idea of having them march in a line.
For the archers, you should make sure that they stay where they are at if you put their command at "Stand Guard". And then if an enemy comes into their range of, say, 25 blocks, they just start firing. So they basically stay where theyre at, not like the melee soldiers that charge the enemy. Also, the further you upgrade an archer, the more range they should have.
Tested it out, and for some reason my soldiers wouldn't attack a bear from Mo' Creatures. Do they only attack Vanilla mobs?
(Also, these soldiers really make me miss Battlegear. That was my second favorite mod of all time.)
I've seen them attack mo'creatures mobs. Sometimes you have to get the fight started first tho. I like to take shots at mobs, then the soldiers go after whatever I've shot.
How do you set up this mod for multiplayer? just wondering, because i spent all night trying to set it up on bukkit but nothing worked. will this mod have bukkit Support?
i cant figure how to make mine & blade-commander work. Whenever i try to make a flag it doesnt do anything i put two same colored wool on top of each other on top of the stick but nothing wwould be created in the crafting box

Could a unit be an attack dog? They follow you and don't have morale (but they have less hp than the militia) They do more damage than the militia and are faster and only require 1 gold nugget to spawn. Can be upgraded to armored wolf or something. Also for the summoners maybe you can make it so when soldiers die their body lies on the ground (right click to remove it). Then a summoner (whichever one can resurrect) will resurrect that soldier for a period of time to fight enemies (like in skyrim)

Well, bears have randomly been attacking me too, which is new to me (but may also be a new feature). They just went after a werewolf and zombie horse though, so yeah, awesome!
I have an idea, what if he ad soldiers that randomly generated, but were buyable? using other things instead of gold, like food, or a water bottle, depending where they spawn?

i have a suggestion; make more motions like stabbing, deflecting, slashing, chopping, and backhanding... and make a way to block them too. that will make this mod really addicting!

i know, he just gave us the middle finger by 1- discontinouing a great weapon mod and leaving us with not-so-useful alternatives (seriously.) 2- giving them good and awesome weapons to npc's and leaving us with the useless sword, AND 3 Ruining the only mod that made minecraft combat better. Dont get me wrong. This mod is awesome (especially with the invasion mod) but still, im going to go learn java coding and make some sort of private mod that does kinda the same.

hmm, rechecked your planned "map" of class and realize that there isn't a mounted pikeman? , I'd love if you try to,, but I do understand how much work goes into a mod as complicated as this one.

I plan to have archers out in the release after next. The next release will focus on some other issues players have been having with the current soldiers (ability to change the attack range, stops them going after creepers etc). I just see these issues are more urgent than adding archers which will likely take me a lot longer.
Not sure if this idea of mine is already mentioned but for the archers, similar to the goto command... Instead of proceeding to the assigned spot, the archer will go into good range of the target, stay there and fire arrows at the target without even moving... With this I will form a firing line of archers and make them fire at an incoming enemy army.. Like they did in 300...
I will likely make them go to the assigned spot, I just find this as much easier to control the guys.

As I said to the guy before, feel free to make an addon pack or even a texture pack that changes the bow into a musket of some sort (when the ranged units come out). I must warn you though that I will likely change the set up of the soldiers with no warning (especially in these early stages) meaning if you do go the latter route upkeep may kill you.

This was the plan, they will only move from their "stand guard spot" it they have been hit/knocked out of place, in which case they will walk back.

Unfortunatly it is not avaliable for bukkit. To set up a server you must install minecraft Forge on the server, the mod in the servers mods directory and Forge/Client mod/Coremod installed on all the clients.

I am guessing you don't have the mod installed correctly, make sure Forge is working and you have the .jar file in the correct directory (or force update and use my installer a couple of pages back)

The attack anything that implements the IMob interface. If a hostile mob that is added by Mo'Creatures do not implement this they will ignore them. There is really nothing much more I can do about it sorry.

If you want, however I would not recomend you jump right into the deep end, ro do the whole duel wielding thing right (i.e. no base-class edits) you would have to learn some pretty advanced Java techniques (i.e. ASM/Bytecode manipulation). If you were serious about wanting to learn Java start by actually learning the language. Go to your local library and borrow a Java programing book. I have heard that "Java for Dummies" (don't take offence to that) is great for beginners to both Java and programming in general. Programing is great fun and is an employable skill and learning it early (I believe you are 11?) could give you a huge head start if you wanted to ever pursue a computer programming orientated career.
