any solutions? (i did everything what you said
Please make sure you installed the latest version of Forge. Someone already had the same problem, because he used an older version of Forge.Sorry for linking to the wrong download, I was in rush when I updated the thread.
Download link is now updated
Please try it again and don't put the files into the minecraft.jar, put them in the mods folder (not extracted)!
I've downloaded all files, installed it in a fresh downloaded .minecraft folder and it worked fine.
This mod adds a new mob, currently called Block Mob, that has the form and texture of every block in Minecraft! They spawn randomly and adapt to the environment, that means if it spawned on stone, they will look like stone. If it spawned on a log it would look like log.
If you look at these living blocks they will stop moving and look like a regular block.
In the next updates I'll add special features for every block! For example a living lavasource block will burn down everything it touches.
NEW! You can now even revive blocks from other mods!
I will write an API soon so other modders can give their own blocks own properties.
Pictures:
Blocks with cracks will attack you!
Blocks (Real blocks ):
The reviving machine!
How it works:
In the left slot you put diamond(s), in the bottom one you have to put soulsand. In the top slot comes the block you want to
revive.
The 4th slot is the output slot. You have a random chance of getting the diamond(s), the soulsand, or just dirt back.
When the reviving has finished a living block
spawns above the machine.
Block Effects:
Snow block leaves a snow trail and freezes water:
Lava blocks will set wood on fire:
Grass block turns dirt into grass:
If a log and leaves mob comes together they
generate a treeand die (Metadata of the leaves
and log is random):
Todo:
+ Finally adding a crafting recipe for the revive machine.
+ Maybe adding a portable (but really expensive!) item to revive blocks instantanious
+ Adding glasses so the blocks won't stop to move
+ Adding special effects for most blocks
Changelog:
V 1.1.5
+ Added legs
+ Works perfectly on servers now
+ Only the owner of the revive machine can
open the machine
- Removed many bugs
V 1.1.4
+ Fixed ID conflict
+ Added Reviving tool
- Removed crack block
V 1.1.3
+ Blocks move smoother
+ They can now move in creative mode
+ A grass block turns dirt underneath it into grass
+ Log & Leaves Block (Mob) generates a tree and dies
- Removed some block due to invisibility and not existing block ID
V 1.1.2
+ Blocks with cracks now do damage to the player according to the hardness of the block.
E.g. Stone does 1 damage (1/2 heart) and Obsidian does 8 damage (4 hearts)
+ Blocks with cracks now spawn (The chance for a cracked block is 1:20)
+ Added some special rendering for example for the lava block.
+ The mob imitates the block under it when spawned first time
- Only blocks that you can find naturally will be able to spawn
- Removed some blocks that would look weird if they move (E.g. lever, redstone, torches, and so on)
V 1.1.1
+ The mob now saves it's Block ID
V 1.1.0
+ Added crack blocks (Mob)
V 1.0.0
+ Added the mob
+ Renders properly
+ Mob stays if seen by a player
Download & Installation:
1. Download the newest version of Minecraft Forge
2. Download the mod
3. Install Minecraft Forge
4. Put the downloaded .zip file into the mod folder (%Appdata%\Roaming\.minecraft\mods\)
5. Profit
I downloaded version 1.1.5 and spc and made a new superflat world. I put my self in creative built a mob proof glass block shelter, then back to survival mode. Waited for 5 mine craft days without seeing a single living block spawn I then did the single player command "/spawn blockmob 100" and 100 grass blocks spawned all w/ legs! I thought they were all sorts of blocks that were disguised as the block they spawned on, (Grass) but no, all 100 living blocks dropped grass blocks...
Is this what is intended to happen?
I thought that I would see them spawning naturally like any other mob? But I did not.
I thought that I would see them spawn and appear visually as the block they spawned on, and drop the block they really are. But again I did not.
I'm missing something? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't really understand the problem you have there, if they spawn on grass then they are grass and also drop the grass block.
And it can be that you didn't see any block mobs, you have to travel to find some. Same is with the normal mobs, sometimes you can wait for hours and no pig will spawn. And since V1.1.5 they have legs and they should drop what they are
Edit: They don't spawn yet, but they will in the next version
It should work with every block, the only thing that might not work with blocks of other mods is that the legs won't have the correct texture. But it should work

Ok thanks!
Also I would really like to see them spawn in as something other than what they are on. Example: You would see the same ratio of amount of stone blockmobs as you could in an average chunk. Yet you would also see a diamond ore blockmob about as often as you would see diamond in a chunk (~1/500? would be a diamond ore block & while the majority of the block mobs will be dirt or stone)
Edit: I also liked the blockmob better without legs. But it is fine if you want to keep them the way they are, just giving feedback

The idea is good, but there is a little problem. If, for example, a stone block spawns on the surface, on grass, and you would see the block it couldn't hide very well. If the block always adapts to the block it spawns on, there would be a better chance that it can hide and that you won't see it. But I'll think about that, maybe I can find a solution for that

Maybe the blockmob disguises itself as what it spawns on, but drops a natural spawning block that is based on the y cord it is killed on or the y cord it spawned on. For examplie you could only get a diamond ore block when you kill a blockmob below y=20.
Rarer blockmobs could only spawn in a low light level too.
Is there a config file where you can change block ID's anywhere? I'm having an ID conflict crash and I can't find a config file to change the IDs.
All that will come in the next update
You'll be able to chose if you need the glasses to see the blocks moving and you will be able to change the block ID of the revive machine.

Hello there i was going to do a mod review when i noticed a few things you might want to add in your main set up you should add your forge description and all that also name the spawning block something and this does make alot of lag and is very bad when you have a good bit
Please make sure you installed the latest version of Forge. Someone already had the same problem, because he used an older version of Forge.Sorry for linking to the wrong download, I was in rush when I updated the thread.
