This is certainly an ambitious project and I can't wait to see the first version! I've never played in the original Aether before (I've really wanted to!), so I'm going to be having lots of fun. I wouldn't recommend removing Puddlehund's Dimension API from the dependencies because it wouldn't be compatible with some other mods.

Please if you want to, update us on whats going on. Like how long time it may will take, or if there is anything you are going to change. You said something about some features may would get lost, what features are we talking about. Stuff like that, would just be nice to get updated on how far you've made it
Will the Christmas stuff be removed? It never really looked good in the Aether.
Ill probably remove it, i never liked it either, and i dont see the point in having it in the config.
I may keep the present block though, and the items, just for people to have fun, and hack it in with creative

You can make a dimension with forge, without editing base class files, its just harder!
Im having problems with the dimension API anyways.
And as ive said above, compatibility is my number 1 priority!
This topic deserves more attention! You are doing a great job, and I can't wait until you are don, but take your time and do it as good as possible. I love you! ( Totally homo )

Oh! That's a nice feature I never knew existed in MC Forge.
I'm really looking forward to this and hope that you do a better job in case of compability with other mods than the older versions of Aether which were basicly incompatible with everything
I'm glad you decided to update this, thanks and good luck

I have to disagree, there is every reason to release now, 1.3 will not have the api for mods... and will require every mod to be smp. which means reworking it all anyway, might as well have the mods out in the public hands to get valid ideas and potential bugs one could not consider without.... plus, who knows how long it will take 1.3 to become mainstream with the leading mods.... Basically saying wait for 1.3 is like Bill Gates or Steve Jobs saying I will wait for quantum processors before I decide to look into development... mull this idea over for a bit, what would keep modders from waiting till 2.5 before releasing cuz one day they will have to update

Heres whats being removed.
-Possibly the extra inventory slots, if i cant get it working without editing base files.
(If thats removed, all accessorys will still give you the bonuses, but the item must be in the hotbar.)
That is a great idea.... one thing.. I know its a bit more work, but if you do an "accessory inventory" could it be made as a separate mod to be used hand in hand with this? maybe....
I ask because that could easily branch off into its own creature
always thought it would be cool if something like this work like.... ok rought idea, like the girl scout sash, where you would put the sash in the inventory and it would open up additional slots much like how the back packs work, that way you could exchange various different configs easily that you would open up and put the accessory items in..... but just an idea

That would be a good idea, except, im not really that good with GUI's.
So im probably not the guy to create that!
Cheers!
Im keen on this mod being able to be installed through the /mods folder!
They dont reply.
But if they really dont want me to be doing this, i will just take the download down. (When its up)

Since it's forge, it should be ok.
Cheers
Ill make a section on the thread

Forge has many wonderful features!
I'm glad you decided to update this, thanks and good luck
So far so good!
No base files edited
Thankyou!
Added a progress spoiler on the main thread!
Check it out!
Well said.
Why not do something like Nerd boy did in his mod : http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/895339-125-forge-mine-blade-battlegear-development-paused-until-i-get-my-motivation-back/
Pretty much made a new inventory type thing, where you can equip the accessories. I think it would be a better idea
Oh a seperate inventory!
Thats a good idea
