And the best of all, this mod will be compatible with as many mods as possible because of the use of ModLoader ,ForgeApi and NO BASE FILE EDITED so you will be able to experience even more and more without worry of conflicting

Although you can know everything about Magicka from the wiki, but i'll put some informations from the wiki here, along with some changes that i made to the mod.

Exceptions/workarounds
It's impossible to simultaneously cast Steam and Ice because adding a Fire element will change Ice to Water before it will change Water to Steam, and adding a Cold element will change Steam to Water before it will change Water to Ice. In other words, if you have [Ice + Water ], adding a Fire element will change the Ice to Water, not the Water to Steam. Conversely, if you have [Steam + Water ], adding a Cold element will change the Steam to Water, not the Water to Ice.
However, it is possible to add lightning to water . You just cast ++++++. This is so because the fire turns the ice into water and the lightning is still there. Note that thie bevahiour has been fixed in later updates.
Element interactivity
The elements in Magicka can be divided into different types based on how they influence the result of a spell. Each element type has a priority that determines the final type of spell that will be cast. For example, if the player casts an arcane element and a water element, the result will have the explosive beam properties of the Arcane element and the soaking effect of water. The result will not be a spray of water imbued with the arcane element, because the Arcane property has precedence over water. Note that while both Earth and Ice are projectiles (Earth firing a single projectile and Ice firing a barrage of ice shards), Earth has precedence over Ice; combining the two will result in the single projectile.

Force/Beam effect (press right mouse button) Sprays:
Raw elements spray. Can cause burning, wet, freezing,....extinguish fire, freeze water, cast snow.
Water sprays causes knockback.
Lightning Arc: can add
Lightning arcs jump between close targets to damage multiple enemies (or allies). Discharges up to 6 hits. Can cause elemental effects.
Lightning arcs causes enemies to be slowed down.
Beams:can add
Elemental beams thrust forward. Can power redstone wire, redstone lamp, unpower redstone torch, trigger TNT. Can cause elemental effects.
Beams can not be crossed at the moment.
Projectiles:can add
Charge to increase power and range. Shoots out projectile bombs/boulder(earth) or ice shards (ice)
For ice shard, each ice element add 6 shards.
For rock boulder, each earth element increase the size of the boulder and damage.
Shields/Mines/Walls/Storms:can add
Will create a 1/4-circle arc in front of the player.
Walls and shields provide physical block to enemy attacks.
Walls and shields can block all kinds of spells.
Special walls can explode after a finite amount of time.
Mines will be detonated when living entities collides with them or mines overlap.
Storms are downward sprays.
Adding earth and ice will make walls
Adding arcane and life (but no earth and ice) will make mines
Adding all other elements (but no earth, ice, arcane and life) will make storms
Area of effect (press right mouse button while holding area-cast button<default G>)
Area Nova:
Additional elements increase the radius and damage of nova.

Similar to Area Nova but can slow down/knock down enemies or send enemies to the air

Heh, there are quite a few magic mods out there and a few more in WIP as well, so whatever you're thinking about doing, I hope you have some unique concepts and ideas to implement because unfortunately, it seems like only a small group of Minecrafters who like magic-only mods and it's a crowded area.
I'll definitely keep my eyes on this and check it out when it's ready.
The best thing I can suggest is to make it engaging and challenging to use magic- make it so that we have to hit buttons in a specific sequence (A,A,W,S,W= fireball) or something of the sort to make it other than point and click.
Is Magicka an actual game? If you could provide a link for whatever, that'd help. I think I found what you're referring to but would like your confirmation first.

I think i've solved the WASD problem with configurable spell buttons, by default they are Y U I O G H J K respectively to Q W E R A S D F so you can both walk and conjure spells. Here are some first images
The spell particles are very very experimental, and they're going to look a lot better than in the image. There are 2 versions atm, tell me which one you prefer:P

Mmm, not quite sure I fully understand Lord_Cerberus' explanation of how spell-casting works in Magicka, but I think I do. I'll have to wait and playing the mod whenever it's eventually released to get a feel for it.
Not sure what you're trying to show with the two pictures? One looks like an ice attack the other looks like a water one? Different particles/appearances for different spell types would be cool. I'll reserve comments on particles until I see them all in action myself.
I do suggest that the GUI be smaller than it is; it's nice that it can be closed but when it's open I feel like it takes up a lot of the screen. I would say about 25-30% less size would be better.
From someone who knows almost nothing about that game, it's novel stuff! Voicing an opinion in the affirmative for your post lets Will know more than one person likes the idea.
Just hope they're codeable and that Will wants them too.

I use my left hand to press WASD (pinky and the finger next to it :P), pointer and middle to press TYUIOGHJKL (8 spell buttons and 2 cast spell buttons, T is force, G is area cast) and my right hand can still operate the mouse normally

Just make sure you KNOW it's permission given from someone from Paradox. You don't have to disclose that person's name, just make sure you know it and what the person's position is in the company.
I have to admit those icons do look really cool. If I enjoy the mod as much as I think I will, I may indeed have to check out Magicka, so you can go ahead and tell the person who gave you permission that you may have already gotten them one more customer and at the very least one more interested person.

awesome I never thought that they would reply to your request so fast. on the other hand such a thing is possible due to the fact that paradox is a inidie game publisher and magicka is a indie game itself. In such a situation the people who manage the game sure have more freedom than "AAA-Companies" (refering to EA, Activision,etc -> they would never so such a thing).

You probably know the mentioned stuff but I'm just posting this to give the people, who don't know magicka, a better idea of the game.
Anyways, mobs that have to be added:
- Goblins (You encounter them almost everywhere in Magicka, basically your daily hack and slay treat.)
-> there are 11 Types of Goblins!
- Trolls and Yetis (Troll are stronger than goblins and appers less frequent. Yetis are rare (only appear in Chapter 11 ) but might be to tough for unexperienced Players -> instant death if you don't wear stone armor)

I've finished all kinds of spray spells.
Lightning will give targets the same effect as if they're stuck by real game's lighting and will cause more damage if the target is wet or frozen.
Water will soak and push back targets and extiguish fire.
Steam is the same, but without knocking back the target.
Cold will freeze target if it's wet, extinguish fire and freeze water or place snow.
Fire thaw snow and ice, set target on fire.
And frozen enemies can not move at all.
nope the lightning spell will have nothing similar to mc's thunderbolt
And yes i'd love myself sooo much if i can make the lightning spell similar to wireless redstone mod's jammer xD

I use my left hand to press WASD (pinky and the finger next to it :P), pointer and middle to press TYUIOGHJKL (8 spell buttons and 2 cast spell buttons, T is force, G is area cast) and my right hand can still operate the mouse normally
Anyway, this mod intreagues me, and I want to see it completed! If you need any textures, let me know, I'll be glad to help you out a bit.
And now i can continue this without worrying
Glad you got that permission! I meant to comment on how you could do it without violating the copyright since I know a thing or two in that regards, but nothing beats getting a license to use the copyright for free!
Just make sure you KNOW it's permission given from someone from Paradox. You don't have to disclose that person's name, just make sure you know it and what the person's position is in the company.
I have to admit those icons do look really cool. If I enjoy the mod as much as I think I will, I may indeed have to check out Magicka, so you can go ahead and tell the person who gave you permission that you may have already gotten them one more customer and at the very least one more interested person.

Yea thank you To be honest I was struggling to remember the effects that magicka has xD, i could only remember freeze and wet :P.

Life's still long
Lightning will give targets the same effect as if they're stuck by real game's lighting and will cause more damage if the target is wet or frozen.
Water will soak and push back targets and extiguish fire.
Steam is the same, but without knocking back the target.
Cold will freeze target if it's wet, extinguish fire and freeze water or place snow.
Fire thaw snow and ice, set target on fire.
And frozen enemies can not move at all.
And yes i'd love myself sooo much if i can make the lightning spell similar to wireless redstone mod's jammer xD
