Yeah, I think "soul" works better than "spirit," it's the "bottle/bottled" part that I was wondering if it could use a little more flair. "Ampoule" or "vial" or "cache" or something. Might just be me being weird.
I did not know the API update wasn't going to be in 1.4, I thought that was a given! Sheesh.
Well, given that the cultural infuser, at least for Japanese souls, needs to be on top of the infused soulsand, is there a merit to having pistonable infused soulsand? Interesting notion, at least. Never thought about making it moveable.
Would it be possible if infused soul sand fed into the infuser
This idea is mostly what if instead of the infuser checking the data value of the souls and. to the sand Sending information to the infuser now look the soul sand can be pistonable
Another idea would be to make the inches trial infuser 2tall and have the lower part accept all kinds of soul who even needs pistons right
Ok, I'm drunk, so I apologise if this isn;t my best post in the world ...
FIRST NIGHT AT UNI WOO AHND IT'S JUST STARTED!
Anyway yeah. Pelirow. If you come up with a better name, let me know. Keep 'em coming!
API I can't say with any certainty, but I know what I've heard ...
Well, there are other uses for infused soul sand. Just 'cos they weren't in the 1.2.5 version, doesn't mean they are there.
Applesisme, this goes for you too. Your suggestion is great, but there are other uses in immenint mod future that require more than the infuser ... I'll keep thinking
My typical building type seems to reflect a old time British style i think, with cobble roofs and tree logs divided by planks, I always wanted to build more accurate Pagodas though, and this looks like just the thing I was looking for. I can hardly wait for this to be updated to 1.3.2 so I can use it in my LP.
Also, on a side note, I was attempting to make a mod that would actually go very well with this or vanilla minecraft called the Fried Rice mod. Here's a link if you want to check out what I do have for it Eriottosan.
Do you plan to add sliding doors, if you haven't already(haven't checked out the mod because I'm in 1.3.2
If you look back a few pages in comments you can see that sliding doors have been addressed. Also you can see the cultures being implemented into CultureCraft
Japanese
Egyptian
Greek
Viking and
Mayan

ok, This mod is still gonna be updated though right? I only want the Japanese stuff out of that list. If I wanted the other stuff I would likely get Millinare but I mainly just want Japanese.

If you simply read the last couple of pages, you would know it's getting updated.
And this mod is very different from what Millenaire does. You really can't compare the mechanics of creating and obtaining the Japanese stuff in this mod to what Millenaire has, and a lot of the blocks look much nicer in this mod, in my opinion.
I wouldn't be surprised if the other cultures Eriotto has in the works for down the road also have a very unique and distinctive feel from what Millenaire has, so you should probably keep your eyes out for those as well!

Well, like I said, I only want the Japanese stuff at this point. And I said millinare because it had cultures and quests. I know this looks way better
First thing's first, great apologies! I know I suggested that I'd get work done this week, but I've not done much. I've been very busy, meeting new people, finding the best points in the new town, and getting Freshers' Flu.
Lectures start tomorrow, so the crazy evening/night life should calm down somewhat, which means that becomes time I can use to code (once I've done all the work required for Uni. Plus, I have 1 hour of lectures a week that I can't attend due to clashes, so I need to catch up by listening to recordings &c)
I know you guys have been waiting patiently, and I apologise greatly for the great delay. I am going to try and get a release of CultureCraft out in the next few weeks, but it will only hold the Japanese stuff. This is largely 'cos I need to get the ball rolling. I will also release a conversion mod either at the same time or within a few days of release, for those that wish to convert old worlds (it's not quite as simple as reassigning block IDs in a config file - CultureCraft is a lot more metadata-friendly and ID-conservative. I know Forge has 4096 support, but it makes sense to conserve IDs if you can).
Regarding your questions, I think applesisme, Pelirow and Azradun have covered pretty much everything.
Regarding updating ... Technically, I'm not updating, as this mod is being superceeded by CultureCraft and the BTW-addon (currently titled "Better Than Bakumatsu"). However, CultureCraft will contain most or all of the blocks in JW&A, though some systems are slightly different.
Pelirow, Azradun & applesisme: Thanks greatly for your support, through addressing questions and your kind words about the mod. I will hopefully have something for you to play with in 1.3.2 before too long, as I mentioned above. It is a coding nightmare, though, and I'm having to do a lot from scratch, but I think I'm nearly there with regards to working out how to do everything. Sorry it's taking so long, guys - 1.3.2 was bad enough, but it came at a busy time, too!

Better than Wolves? I hate that mod with a passion. also, is Culture craft going to have options to turn off certain cultures? Cuz as I said above, I only want the Japanese one.

Dude, when quoting a long passage, learn to snip, or just quote the bits you are responding with. Otherwise it just clogs things up, especially if your response is only 2 lines long xD.
You hate BetterThanWolves? Good for you, you have your own opinion. However, I *love* that mod with more passion than you can possibly have against it. So if you have a problem with it, fine, but that problem is not to be expressed on my thread.
However, I will take 2 lines to mention that *I* hate in-your-face bronies, animated avatars, and Technic/Yogbox, and you have all three on each of your posts ...
Moral of the story: The world is so much nicer when we only mention the things we like, don'tcha think?
So yeah. You don't have to use the Better Than Wolves Add-on. In fact, once I have CultureCraft and Better Than Bakumatsu released, they will have their own threads.
And as far as turning off Cultures goes, no. You can just not use the bits of the cultures you don't want. Especially as things will be doubling up on metadata, turning things off would be near impossible. Just don't use them. Nothing is world-gen, the only things from other cultures you will see are the occasional mobs if you are in their biomes.

why not have the cultures separate so then people can use only the ones they actually want? I was looking for a japanese specific mod for a long time and when I found this I thought I found it. As for no world gen stuff. what about the Sakura, and Mulberry trees, and the other plants? As for the mobs, Mo'creatures adds tons of mobs but has options to turn any of them off that players don't want to play the game with, so I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to have the option to turn stuff off, or have moduals like how buildcraft handles it(meaning the cultures are in their own folders that a config can decide weather to load or not).
Sales-kital did you read the post i mean the mulberry trees are crafted from a culturer infuser atop infused soul sand you get soul from karate zombies and you put it in bottles if you want the mod for building use creative or too many items i am still improving an adventure map that i made you can see a few snap shots earlier in the replies its not really a big deal
So no nothing is world gen this is because how annoying it is when you have your beta or even alfa world that has a million loaded chunks to go out and find these new things eriotto san has been most firm about ths concept since the mod came out please read the forums next time please.

I did read the op. and didn't see recapies to make Sakura or Mulberry Saplings, I also don't see any recapie to get Bamboo, I assume the other plant's seed can be gotten easily from tall grass like with most mods adding new plants/seeds.
My point still stands though that I only want the Japanese Culture stuff, including mobs. Otherwise I would wind up with an invintory of items from the other cultures mobs that I would never use, and since it would be single player where I would be using the mod nobody else would get any use from them either.

Quote from From the OP, about the Ancestral Infuser »
The second thing you can do with it is chuck several items on top of it to do different things. The items are:
Saplings, which will be converted to either Mulberry or Sakura Saplings.
Seeds, Wheat Seeds, or Melon Seeds, which will be converted to either Tea, Rice or Rush seeds.
Sugar Cane, which will be converted to Bamboo.
No recipe, no destroying tall grass, just good ol' fashioned infusing items with innocent souls, with no interaction required!
Also, no, you will not get clogged up with items from the mobs. They don't drop mod items. Because that makes the game easy. They can spawn spirit when they die, which could be dangerous if you don't collect it, but you don't have to. And you don't have to kill the mobs, anyway.
And please, don't try to educate me by telling me what other mods do. I know what other mods do. This is *my* mod, and I do what I want with it. Don't tell me to do something that means a lot more work for me (configurable options are a pain in the butt with the heck load of testing associated with it), especially when I've already said no. And especially when it's not even released yet, so I know you haven't tried it.
This conversation is worsening my already low mood. If you are that desperate for just the Japanese stuff, go play 1.2.5 with this mod, or find another mod. To be honest, if you are planning to continue with your attitude, then I'll either get rude, or ignore you.
Sorry my mistake the recipes for plans aren there i was thinking about the old op before the incestrial infuser to get plants you put seeds into the infuser along with different sapplings and you will get new ones for bamboo insert sugar cane uf you get not what you want just put the new plant in again
Your main point about different mibs there are things called chest crafted with wood planks in a square leaving the empty blank or you could throw it on a cactus or lava plus wventually mobs will be biome specific besides japanese will be the only culture in culture craft v1.0 you can just not update the mod
