ok... I have something that will help(maybe take a little longer), but it will also prevent rendering it in game and figuring out that we did the textures wrong! i will go ahead and do basic, non noised(same color, different tints), sort of layouts! like for instance i already just made a skull for the atlas, and i will render it and fix it a little( I can do some textures, not very good tho).

Okay. Sounds like a step in the right direction. saying that I kinda feel like Dilbert's boss.

I was also thinking it would be kinda entertaining to use the Minecraft Skeleton head for the texture of the Atlas, but I think that 1) it would come off as we were too lazy to do it ourselves and 2) it gives the wrong impression of the Atlas.

What about the enderman head? Considering thats one of the scariest mobs in this game, and the atlas is supposed to the damned scariest mech next to the stone rhino or marauder... and also your a better boss than that

Hmmm... That would actually make a pretty cool paint scheme.
And yes, PHB is pretty boneheaded. Dilbert is one of my favorite comics!
also what modeling programs are you guys using perhaps i might be able to help on some models?
Well, progress is happening, albiet slowly. We are currently working on models, and as soon as I get a free moment or two, I am going to study the source code and see if I can hammer out some sort of test.
As for our modeling, us mac users are using FMCModeler, while our windows users are using Techne.
great idea for a mod, If I can make a suggestion, Id like to see the marauder and its larger counterpart (I think its called The stalker lol) Id be happy to do some beta testing when you come up with something. You probably have plans for it but a mad cat would be nice lol
On another note you might want to call it Battlemech instead of battle tech because battletech is an anime much like gundam lol

Yes they made battletech into a -shortlived- anime-esk animated series based on the board/tabletop game. Please try to read about what your talking about before saying stuff like that... http://en.wikipedia....iki/BattleTech. Most mechs have several artistic changes based on the user/loadout/manufacture For instance look at the Atlas it has changed QUITE a lot but the changes are so varied and similar one can argue each version is just made by a different manufacture, BUT is still quite clear what it is and why you should take it out as soon as possible...

btw Im only 23 so a lot of this is outside of my era. The only reason I love it so much is because my uncle introduced me to it and battletech (didn't care much for the latter)
