IMHO, Survival is WAY better than Creative. The hunger, new 1.3 exp, The End, all of it is optional. Everything you had is still here, just better. Just play your Creative world, no need to hate Survival. Or just downgrade and forget about Dragon Mounts.
I have seen much bickering over "oh the new updates suck we want 1.7.3 features" if you care so much just get mcnostalgia and play it. I for one love the way it's progressing to create a more adventure theme to it but if you don't then just make a thread somewhere eles. As for the dragon mounts many including myself love this mod and it probably will be better then the one Mojang will make but idk yet. Hopes for Red Dragon and Skylands!
Okay, I fixed some of the severe issues that came with the 1.3 update. It was quite a hassle and I'm still pretty far away from a release, but with each fix, I'm getting closer to a working multiplayer version.

Soon.
I will grief the troll's house with glistening fruity DEATH!!!
You people are haters. 1.3 is epic, it's just Minecraft with "mods". The REAL only bad part is the LAN Worlds. But even THAT is a good idea. And 1.4, is even MORE awesome. Noobie players who can't go against an armored Skeletons will hate it, but REAL Minecrafters will go up for the challenge.
you are really stupid you only see good parts of 1.3 and 1.4 the villager infection is cool the armored mobs are too the bad part is that they said they fixed bugs and there are A LOT OF F*****G BUGS CHUNK BUGS INTERNAL SERVER BUGS MOVEMENT BUGS AND THAT IS NOT FAIR BECAUSE THEY DID AN ALPHA VERSION AND A BETA SO MINECRAFT SHOULDNT HAVE THAT QUANTITY OF BUGS HAVE A GOOD DAY
Quite honestly, I'm a bit saddened that all of you are complaining about the progression of Minecraft. Sure, it's not the way it used to be. Sure, it took a different path than a lot of people were expecting. But it's still a great game, and I'm not going to whine about every little thing that they tweaked or added to the game that I didn't like. It all eventually grew on me. And you know what? Alpha wasn't even that great. I started all the way back in Infdev, and all the new features have been life-savers, both building-wise and AI-wise. You'll see in a year (if Minecraft's still being updated with new features) that a lot of people will be looking back and saying "Gee, I really miss the 1.3 update, this 1.7 update just doesn't feel the same." And the only reason for that is that despite how hard the developers work, they will never make every single one of you people happy; someone's negative opinion on something is all it takes to ruin an entire fanbase's reception on a feature.
TL;DR - Stop being spoiled brats and enjoy the game, plox.

And to be on topic... I hope all is going well for you with this update, Barracuda. I've seen some mods discontinued due to the SSP/SMP merger, but I'm glad you're staying commited to this mod.
I agree with you that minecraft is a great game and all changes are great, but the only thing I dont like about 1.3 is: lag and bugs I also agree that people who are saying alpha was better should use mcnostalgia I also agree that alpha and beta were good but minecraft 1.0 , 1.1 , 1.2 and 1.3 are GREAT the only bad part is bugs because alpha and beta are used to fix bugs and there are still lots of bugs

The bugs the bugs the bugs... Honestly, every game cant be perfect. Its hard to do every bug-fix. They release snap shots for the reason of bug fixes. They find bugs and try their best to get rid of them. They cant test every little detail their selves. Thats why there is bugs and soon they will fic these bugs. but until then you cant do anything about it. and we will have to wait a little longer.

Personally, I see NO bugs whatsoever, and every update brings joy to me. The only bad part is the un-updated mods. Just enjoy the game Mojang worked hard on and ignore the bugs.
I think this is a brilliant mod that adds much more to the reward of defeating the Enderdragon. With that said, I would suggest a few changes. This is no more than feedback from my opinion, however.
The dragon egg should not be able to be mined regularly. Considering the power of the reward and the fact that it was interesting for us to have to use tricks to get the egg to drop, I see no real good reason to make it a regular mined block.
The dragon shouldn’t just turn back into an egg after use. I personally don’t think Pokemon belongs in MineCraft. As an alternative, you could simply dismount the dragon. Doing this at a considerable height would be consequential, but a player should know to land first. If the dragon is abandoned at a high altitude, it could simply land itself and wait.
Furthermore, the dragon could be more constant to mimic MineCraft’s passive mob constant behavior. By this I mean, when hatched, it stays hatched. When saddled, it could act like other tamed mobs, and only walk around in a small radius until the player chooses to fly it.
The dragon as well could be hooked with a fishing rod like other mobs, and in doing so, will follow the player by walking. This is if so the player needs to move the dragon a short distance.
The dragon could also have to fully grow before you could saddle it. It would grow and scale like a regular animal, and when fully grown, could be mounted. The player may need to cage the dragon to prevent it from wondering too far until it is saddled.
I love the idea that the dragon has a health bar as well, and it would be a very interesting aspect if the dragon mob was made constant rather than deployable. However, to make it interesting, perhaps the dragon should eat ender items. For example, ender pearls would comparable to meat for the dragon. Eyes of ender would be a little bit stronger, like a Tier II healing potion. You could also let it eat things like obsidian, white stone, etc.
The dragon shouldn’t be affected by water. I personally think it shouldn’t be able to drown, but the player should if it rests under water. The water should affect it like a player in creative – not at all, and act more like regular air. If anything, perhaps slow it down only slightly. This would make it fun to dip in and out of water.
And finally, if you make it multiplayer compatible, please, please, for the love of [divine_entity] PLEASE make the fire breathing and block destroying mode toggle-able in a configuration file. In Single Player, a player can simply not use this feature.
Been dreaming of a mod like this. This is just my personal notes, take them as you will. I do hope you at least consider them, but thank you regardless.
Edit: To clarify, I'm saying in the last note that if a player doesn't want to use the fire breathing and block destroying feature, they don't have to in Single Player. But in Multiplayer, a player could grief a world with it, and an Admin could have a hard time stopping it, so it should be configurable.

except for the last part (that the player cant use fire breathing) ITS AN AWESOME IDEA DUDE!

I wasn't saying to disable the fire breathing. I was saying that when it becomes compatible with Multiplayer, to let the server administrator turn the feature on/off for obvious griefing purposes.

Maybe rather option that dragon fire wouldn't burn terrain.

That's a nice collection of ideas, some of them I've been considering already. I'm pretty sure you'll find most of them in the next version!

Good for you. I got it when it was released. Now I'm making my own mods for it.
