Poll: The name of that mod should be different from Ships&Boats and Ph
We have agreed with Eagle_Orion, creator of PhysicsCraft, and Shereis, to join forces to make a mod featuring physics from PhysicsCraft and also the rendering and block interaction facilities of Ships&Boats.
Rainbowdash's point reminded me you should add tordedos, they would be re-skinned cannons that fired with a red stone pulse
Redstone powered armaments are greatly needed for this mod.
Especially since you can't control the ship AND operate cannons unless they are directly adjacent to the command chair and that causes visibility and engineering issues.
Having a button to the right or left of the command chair that can fire a cannon battery would be ideal.
Would make my life a lot easier and more realistic.
Hey Siren how do other video game's displace water in their boats? I was just wondering that
The same way I would do it in Minecraft if it weren't so slow to update blocks: just changing a water block by an empty one.The real reason why subs have water inside is that MC is too slow to update blocks. If it were faster, I would manually replace water by empty blocks where the ship is at a given moment.

Starting to make more sense as it goes along. Do you think there will ever be a real solution that won't cost performance?
Maybe as technology gets better so will the game performance cause its still lagging in some aspects. Water in the hull doesn't bother me at all, as long as I can breathe than its fine by me. I'm just trying to understand why this is such a challenging problem, now I understand

Just consider the following, the bigger the ship, the more water blocks one must remove, following a cubic function (x^3). Just think that a ship 5x5x5 blocks may need to remove a maximum of 125 blocks. However, make that ship bigger and the number grows a lot. For instance, a ship 10x10x10 requires removing a maximum of 1000 blocks. Do the math for bigger numbers and you will see that it is not trivial for big ships

so if you do this method, minecraft will be lag as hell?
I wish to show off my submarine that has over 100 miles on it due to this never ending ocean, supplies are hard to come by
Center picture is my mark 4, slightly bigger, utilizes more room, more technology inside
Until I get torpedo's I have to have a forward facing cannon room
This one dives easier since its smaller than my mk 2
There I am at the bed rock level submerged
Lastly the name cause my main used name is F22RaptorDude
Very nice and I can build large sub realistically as possible but it take dozen of my drawing papers in order to make in minecraft's sub look realistic. (looks like I need dozen of water pumps as well because a sub needs to dive faster during navy war.)
I have make a ship for a test, but when I create a ship (hit the champagne) I find this error:

Yeah that's what i've been doing so far, but i was expecting something where i didn't have to close minecraft.
Try getting MineColony - it's got a scan function so you can get the builder to scan the ship and then have them build them in your nice little sea port town
When I smash the bottle in the ship, it just falls out of the world with noclip and I have noclip:O
hey man I had the same problem...but READING the post i founded the soluiton... You need to unninstall SPC (Single Player Commands) ...just give a force update and re-install the mods XD(without SPC obiviously)

The main problem I run into is I like my submarine as it is now, i'm used to it and its small and compact which leads to less problems. With my big one to the right in the picture I run into the problem of what do I do with all this room. I got a alcohol mod, computercraft and furniture to occupy space
Nope, no work-around for Single Player Commands. However, I would like to point out an incompatible mod: DynamicElevators_Client(v1.5.1) does not work on ships. You have to use ladders and/or steps.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I may be just a tree puncher, but I'm an AWESOME tree puncher.
mfcmflem the only problem is that it doesn't recognize the elevator block, the buttons work and I have also mentioned that earlier on both these pages and the request page.
P.S. about the water in subs, couldn't you just reskin it and claim that the decrease in speed is due to pressure.

Please help ...
Try getting MineColony - it's got a scan function so you can get the builder to scan the ship and then have them build them in your nice little sea port town
Read the main post. All the info is there
Sounds a problem with the Java Runtime. Try downloading and reinstalling JRE: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre-7u4-download-1591157.htmlAlternatively, you can try version 1.6 of the JRE, which is more stable: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre-6u32-downloads-1594646.html
Make sure you uninstall the previous one before installing this one.
can you gimme a naswer pls? XD
I think I might have a work around to this. I'll let you know if it works.
Thanks! I've solved the problem. My secondary question is; what are the control keys?
P.S. about the water in subs, couldn't you just reskin it and claim that the decrease in speed is due to pressure.
