If you want that go with flans plane mod, he's still developing it but with his new coding the planes can fly like a real plane
Yes, th mod does have planes with roll and pitch, but can you make your own plane in game?
It'd be awesome if zeppelin mod could make these maneuvers, but there's one problem
The planes are coded as entities, like minecarts or boats, not like blocks, so it's infinitley easier to code yaw, pitch and roll
I think it would be much harder to do that with blocks

i thought that zeppelin essentially made the ship into one big entity, with block collision and stuff... but i might be wrong. could the mod creator clarify on this?

A while ago, DiEvAl worked on this mod. He left to work on a secret project. I suspect that it is Zeppelin 2, or something, because he released a screenshot of deformed block-grid entities (aka zeppelins). That is, they were in a direction that wasn't perfectly vertical or horizontal, and they were skew. I cannot find the screenshot, but it is somewhere early on in this thread.
I must share my latest creation with you. I liked it so much I made it my profile pic. Based on a giant dragon skeleton, it's made of sandstone, like your average fossil:
Overhead view:
And the bit where I lucked out: I knew the texture for the white metal post from railcraft would change when I activated the craft, but I wanted the dragon to have white teeth, so on they went. Here it is with the changed texture:
Lava teeth! Is that awesome or not?
Let me know what you think, I'm getting a swelled head just looking at it. Also let me know if you can't see the images. I put them up on Google+, and I don't know for sure that they'll display publicly, but if they don't, let me know and I'll find another way to post them.
Would it be possible to introduce a feature that allows selective attachments of blocks to other blocks? For instance, it could be specified never to allow wood to attach to dirt, gravel, or grass, so that an airship that lands in a grass field will not pick up the soil, but allowed to have wool attach to dirt, gravel, or grass, so you could make a central platform on a barge and cover it with dirt, gravel, and grass that will actually be carried along with the ship.
Heya blakmajik, just wanted to point this request out in case it was missed. Being able to selectively attach "forbidden" blocks to your zeppelins without actually marking those blocks as "permitted" would be excellent, if possible. Thus, you could prevent the wooden bottom of your zeppelin from picking up the soil when it lands, but still allow these blocks to be carried by the zeppelin for appearances (and the ability to carry blocks over distances when using a mod that prevents earth blocks from stacking in the inventory). This could be used for simple wagons and vehicles (Zeppelin mod's intent currently withstanding) or for barges, ships, trams, and cargo airships (already possible in Zeppelin mod).
Perhaps if selective block attachments is too complex, we could create "holds" in our zeppelins by building a box out of a special Zeppelin-mod-added block type, where anything present within the bounds of the "hold" would automatically be included with the scanned vessel regardless of whether it was forbidden or not.

You know, it occurs to me that the French are, in general, a highly melancholy people. On every street they rue something.
Are there any plans (even the inkling of plans) for having this work in both SSP & SMP after the 1.3* update?
* 1.3 is when there's going to be a mod interface for the vanilla client and server provided by the new employees at Mojang.
Assuming they actually do the mod API this time, maybe. They had also said they were going to remove the obfuscation, and that hasn't happened yet. If they manage to do both, it will be fantastic. But yes, I am waiting to see this API before I commit to an SMP framework.
If/ When you make the zeppelins require fuel, here is a good idea:
Make fuel useage dependant on the weight the the vessel, and add Balloon blocks, that subtract from that weight.

Goodness.... I just had a thought.... Creepers are like Daleks, they can Destroy everything that you know, Ever cared for, And even the whole of Reality....
We are all doomed.
Suggestion: control that goes in one horizontal dimension, akin to the elevator but horizontal.
Applications: sliding doors (such as in convenience stores), trapdoors, etc.

all i have is too many items, zeppelin and mod loader but for some stupid reason unknown to me my game keeps crashing
Could you post a crash report? Hard to pinpoint why without one.

"Wake up."

Yup, it came out as of last night, so I should have 1.2.4.0.29 out tonight.
