Request: Tension
It looks like most of what I'm saying here has already been suggested in one form or another, but I'll leave this here anyway.
-Winch item or block to increase tension; decrease rope length
-Place rope on rope to decrease tension; increase rope length
Fundamentally, this would let us adjust how low the ropes hang.
Too many of my zipline projects have been ruined by the ropes hanging down to the ground or just far enough that I don't get enough momentum to reach the other end.
If you want to go the extra mile, you can simulate actual tension. Ropes hang lower if there's stuff on them.
They might snap if you have too much [stress] weight on them (this would likely be a result of weighing your inventory, or just multiple people in SMP) or too much tension (or any combination of the two).
Use stronger line (I suppose you'd use iron or diamond) to take more stress before snapping.
Maybe require special stanchion/piton-esque things to prevent the rope from getting pulled off of the anchor block as you add more stress.
Rope bridges might need nearby supporting lines to ease the stress of people walking on them while they're taut.
If you don't want to make it more complicated for the normal user, the current amount of tension (read: none) wouldn't have to require anything new.
While this mod is fun, I cannot seem to climb ropes, as in the video. I have attempted many things to do so, but I cannot appear to get it to work. Tips anyone?
I copyed the class files of the mod and modloader in minecraft.jar when i ran the mod i got a black screen (ohh the dreaded yet so common black screen) what did i do wrong
P.S. i didnt know how to download it so i did my best.

You probably forgot to delete the META folder or you have another mod that it is conflicting with. Check the ModLoader.TXT.
I'm betting on an ID conflict. Do you have ID resolver and ModLoader? I know that they will automatically change the IDs if it senses a conflict with something else and it may be changing the rope to the piston ID for some reason. I'd try reinstalling.
Features:
Rope, Rope Bridge, Arrow with Rope, Ride Rope Zipline with Handlebar, Cloth Sheet, and why not, Placeable Leather!
Version: 1.7.3 (not backwards compatible) Mode: [SSP] Survival Single Player (multiplayer support in progress) Completion: [WIP] Work in Progress Type: [C] Adds game content Modder's labels: [VC] Vanilla Candidate (want in the real game!)
Requires: ModLoader Installation: Normal (.jar)
Ids: 101-104, 400-401 (configurable) Achievement ids: 1001-1004 (configurable) Config file should generate in mods/zipline/zipline.txt Conflicts: bt, px, qz, sn (modders: message me for a compatibility .diff)
(Re: px.class, You can install with optimine/optifog if you install zipline first. You will not get the rope wobble effect though...) Notch: If you are reading this tweet me! @binarydoodler
You can check ModLoader.txt to verify, but if your game crashes the very first time there is a rope block placed in the world, then you installed it wrong and the error was this:
Error:
java.lang.IllegalAccessError: tried to access method bt.<init>(DDD)V from class MyVec3D
(This means you didn't put everything into minecraft.jar)
only instals are modloader and TMI, with no zipline modfire spreads fine, with zipline cant even light trees on fire.
Sure is!
Sure is!
Can this be resolved easily or will it require a recode of one of the mods?
Risugamis Mods
Thanks!
