How do I get tall grass and desert scrub to generate? I'm using the Hoodoo settings and they aren't appearing on the small strips of grass. Trees, flowers and reeds all generate, but patches of grass are totally absent.

I believe that in the latest PTM version theres a bug which doesn't allow tall grass to spawn.
Oh, gooch. Is there a previous, working version for 1.6_6?
The mod was just updated for 1.6.6 a day or two ago so no. I'm sure he'll have that problem fixed soon though, RTB puts a lot of time and effort into updating.
EDIT:
Actually, go check the thread now. There's a new bugfix up that solves the tall grass not spawning.
Hey guys, Im looking to make a Role Playing Server, Very soon, I have the mod working and all, But im looking for a specific world to use, If your interested in helping me with these configs Id gladly Appreciate it, And you would be given Credit!
- 1 Massive island in the middle
- 2-3 Small Islands around them
- Ocean ALL around from the islands
- All islands Mostly Flat
- No Snowy Areas
- No Desert Areas
- Flowers/Mushrooms/And other Vegetation (Very Rare)
- Resources (Coal/Iron) Med. Redstone/Diamonds Etc. (Very Rare)
- Mainly no trees.
Im just looking for a Very Big island, Not to big Not To small.
Ill be adding most of the things, so thats no Problem.
Anyways, Id Very appreciate The help Very Much, Thanks
These configuration settings generate an expansive world with several levels to build and explore. Vast canopies suspended on top of the world create deep, dark caverns, sometimes creating entire cave systems to fit large cities inside. Playing on the map this generates is fun because there's great scenery and a lot of challenge involved in traversing level to level and landmass to landmass, and there's essentially massive dungeons all around. Exploring the "forbidden canopies" is one heck of a challenge.
I've been lurking the BTM and PTM code sharing threads since forever and I still haven't contributed any settings of my own so I figured I should. I don't have anything too amazing but I like these ones. I've only tried it a few times but I've gotten some nice landscapes like these. Nice large forested islands, almost continent-sized. Reasonable, buildable land. Nothing too crazy.
And yes that is an enormous deposit of clay I'm standing on. If anyone wants the seed just let me know and I'll find it.
I've tried to recreate a few but the worlds I get aren't even close to what they should be. The current PTM ini is very similar to BTM's. I'm guessing the settings themselves function differently now or the generation method is drastically different.
I copied and pasted this into my ini and I didn't get this result. Am I doing something wrong here?
Well obviously you won't be getting the same land as the pictures, but it should be similar. Is everything installed correctly? Do other settings work for you?

I don't think the settings function any differently, I believe it's the seeds as they can drastically change the world in different ways and if you don't put one in it'll just give you a random one every time.
And on that note, does anyone have a seed good for making large ocean island maps with? I'd just like to have huge oceans for the most part without having to flood the world and end up near the sky cap, if there's a setting for remedying that then please tell me.

Seeds have been implemented for quite some time. You just couldn't enter them when generating a world until more recently.

This is what I've been playing with for the last couple days, it makes islands regardless of the seed, it does vary how far apart they are. One world I had to travel by boat for a day and a half to find a 2nd island, on my second world I have 3 medium sized islands in visual distance surrounded by seemingly endless sea.

This picture would have looked even more epic with rain and lightning
Pabos
Here's an obligatory island in large ocean configuration. Islands have generated for me (so far) as either a chain of small islands in a HUGE ocean or larger, single islands in a huge ocean.
Ore generation has changed to generate gigantic pockets of ores, but they're much rarer. This promotes the construction of single-purpose mines, instead of a single mine that provides all of the coal, iron and diamond needs of the player.
I've left the temperature and moisture untouched, so snowy and/or desert islands should generate as well. (But I'm yet to see one)
Do you just use the generate world in game using your custom ini file? Once the mod is installed obviously.
Yes, that is correct. Install the .class files in your .jar, place the .ini in your ".minecraft" folder, edit the .ini to your liking, and then create a new world.
Is this still in regards to creating a world for mp? You seem to be talking about sp. Thanks
Ah, sorry. I thought we were talking about SSP. I haven't used this mod for SMP in months, so I'm afraid I can't help you there. Sorry. You might want to try the mod thread itself.

Yeah I know. It just seemed like the seeds generate things more radically than before to accommodate for the ability to enter them, so that there would be a noticeable change in the terrain, I'm probably just over thinking it though.

It's because of the bob1 tree settings, it's supposed to be fixed with bob2 trees once RTB gets them working reliably.
