More Materials is a Minecraft 1.7.2 Forge Mod by duckingcreepers.
So Steve, show me what building materials you've got.
Really Steve? That's... it? Come on Steve. You can do better than that. Okay, listen. Are you listening? Okay, this is how you do it!
More Materials includes 8 stones, 9 woods, 5 sands, 5 gravels, 6 dirts, 6 marbles, and 4 lighting types to help you better customize your minecraft builds!
Be sure to check out the official More Materials website for more information about the mod! This includes modpack permissions and licensing, more detailed information on each material, etc.
Downloads:
This mod was built using Forge Version 10.12.0.1024 for Minecraft 1.7.2. Be sure you are running the proper versions of things for the best results! Later versions of Forge should work just as well.
If everything else is installed properly, you should just be able to place the More Materials jar file in your mods folder, and you'll be ready to go! The links below are direct downloads, just click one and check your downloads folder.
Resource Pack Support:
What aesthetic mod would be complete without resource pack support? Here you can find downloads for resource pack patches for More Materials. To install one, just download it and put it in your resource packs folder! Make sure it is active somewhere in your resource pack hierarchy and you'll be good to go! Do note that while these share the names and styles of popular resource packs, they are in no way created or endorsed by the resource pack authors, and they contain none of the files from the vanilla packs, so be sure to install the proper vanilla resource pack as well!
If you are posting about a bug, be sure that you are using the latest version of the mod. If there is a bug in an older version, try updating to the latest version to see if it has been fixed or not. If the bug is present in the latest version, report it. Try to give as much information as possible. If the bug is crashing the game, be sure to include a crash log so I can see where the code is causing problems.
Known Bugs:
• Unlocalized names sometimes appear instead of localized names. I'm unsure of why this happens, but it has no effect on gameplay.
• Internal ids sometimes shift if another mod is deleted. This can cause building materials to change into other materials. Be careful when deleting other mods from your mods folder, as this can corrupt the More Materials blocks in your world, as well as blocks from other mods. This is a forge bug that I have no control over due to how ids work now, so please do not report it.
Mod Showcases:
Here's a showcase I put together for all the features of version 1.2.1. Sorry the quality is sorta meh, the video editor derped it a bit. Still good info though. Contains all the stats and recipes and blah. Apparently video embedding is broken. It replaces the url with an absurd amount of youtube.com/embed/embed/embed... So a link will have to do for now. A weird green link. Thank you minecraft forums staff for making everything so difficult now.
The Architect's Challenge:
What building material mod would be complete without people building cool stuff with it? If you make a cool build using More Materials, post screenshots or a video and I'll add it to this section of the post! The best builds that are submitted will be featured in future showcase videos I will do periodically.
Amazing looking mod! I love building awesome looking things and vanilla is quite lacking. Can't wait to start doing some big builds with this mod! Might even do a mod spotlight for ya whenever I get around to making that youtube channel! ;D

Thanks man! Always nice to have dwarf planet ugloungers complimenting my work.
If anyone builds anything cool with the mod, remember to post it here to have it added to the Architect's challenge section.
I'm starting to work on resource pack support, because what good is an aesthetic mod that doesn't have resource pack support? I'm almost done with an oCdCraft patch, anyone have suggestions for other resource packs they'd like me to work on?

Clever java mockup is clever.
Glad to hear you think it's epic. I always like to think so. xD

I'll be going on vacation from tomorrow until Wednesday, so I won't be able to get much mod work done during that time. However, I have started the conceptualization for version 1.1, so this is a great time to post suggestions. Here's a list of what I'm thinking so far.
Also likely adding a new theme called the dungeon theme. Included with this would be the 1.8 recipes for vanilla mossy blocks, then crafting those into the More Materials items.
IM BACK! TEH ASISANS! aiuwhdaiwudhwa I dont when theyll coem back! I managed to escape the chair and come here pelase! you gotta help meoinadowunwd NO NO! they;re here gotta run!........No NO! DUCKING! HES AN ASIAN! RUN!! WUHIdwdawdawijd its a traaaaaaaap! ..............

Interesting. How are these made? Like only with creative inventory, or also crafted ingame?
I like the look of some of these, but some are just recolored versions of others. How about you use more selfmade textures and less recolors?
~Shado47
Check the website or the showcase, both explain the recipes.
What do you mean by less recolors? The entire point is to add consistency and expansion to the game's building materials, and one aspect of consistency is having uniform textures.

Okay, I'm back from my trip. After metaphorically spartan kicking my laptop and development environment a few times, it's letting me make changes to the code again. So, work on 1.1 has begun.
(Tonalite pictured)
I'll post information on progress periodically. Feedback appreciated as always.
Also, beware of updating any mods on previously existing worlds, or the internal id assigner will derp tremendously.
I used /give to give myself the block that is entirely absent from the creative inventory. Then I used pick block on it. That is not an arrow, Mojang!
OH MA GURD THIS IS AMAZING THIS SHOULD BE THE #1 MOD EVER XD
ERMAGHERD MERDZ! (I should stop telling my friends that I made a mod. xD)
Anyways, 1.1 is coming along nicely. Textures and block behavior are done for four new materials.
From left to right: Tonalite (Overworld Stone), Foidolite (Nether Stone), Adamantine (Unbreakable Creative Only Volcanic Stone), Flint (Overworld Gravel)

Currently working on a massive overhaul to the mod's crafting recipe code. Little will change for end users, but the new syntax will make recipe errors less frequent as most of the procedure will be automated through methods. Once fully implemented, it will likely shorten the development time of future releases by making new crafting code a much less time consuming part of the development process.
On a different note, while I do tremendously appreciate those of you who are spreading the word about my mods, I have to question the validity of this:

Watermarking my screenshots? Come on. If you're going to put obnoxious watermarks on something, you could at least set up and take the screenshots yourself. xD Makes it more frustrating for those who might want to share the screenshots elsewhere to have the silly logo in the way.
Also, I use a very lenient license. Please don't just without putting my name or a link to official mod documentation somewhere.
Despite the semi-ridiculousness of both of the above examples, I cannot say thanks enough to those of you who are spreading the word about the mod. It makes me extremely happy to see the soaring viewcounts of both official and unofficial documentation. Let's get the popularity of this project up there!

I just finished the oCdCraft Resource Pack expansion for More Materials. Download it by clicking the link and placing it in your resource pack folder. Activate it somewhere in the resource pack hierarchy, and the textures from More Materials will match those of oCdCraft. I haven't tested it yet since I made it entirely at school, but I'll test it and post screenshots of it in the main post later.

You've gotta help Steve by installing this. He's too stupid to figure it out on his own.

Noted. I was tossing around the idea of doing faithful. It'll be a challenge, but I think I'll be able to do it.
This is what happened when I mentioned that I made a mod while skyping my friends. xD
Clever java mockup is clever.
Glad to hear you think it's epic. I always like to think so. xD
If you read the website, you'll see it's available on request if anyone really wants to see it.

Mark. Stop being stupid. Seriously.
