Yes I know I was using a nightly build and yes I knew it was a work in progress. But none the less thanks for replying.
Also now a possible solution to crafting the ammo propellant (also forgive me if this has already been suggested and or for being dumb since I don't know where you list suggestions/ future plans) since the caseless round a solid block propellant perhaps a way to make the propellant part could be with a chemical synthesizer of sorts.
Does this mod work on 1.6.2? I'm guessing yes as I'm also playing with another mod supposed to be for 1.6.4 yet it works for 1.6.2, but I want to be on the safe side.

Thank you for the synthesized chemicals idea, that is a good idea and might be what we need to do in order to justify how many bullets the player will want to shoot without having some expensive recipe for them. The goal would be something in the middle area of difficulty, not to easy to obtain but not to hard either.

Okay came up with some more stuff to make the idea of a chemical synthesizer more useful,
One thing is the ability to make materials such as plastics of sorts which could be used to build certain pieces of equipment. Which as you may also think that I was getting to was using these plastics as part of the pulse rifle's recipe and for the magazines and perhaps as an alternative to iron for certain items.
And now a question.
Are there any other AVP weapons you plan to add or something?

In many ways it resembles a Xenomorph from the Alien series, so it seemed natural to give players something from the same universe to combat it. Well the reason I asked and if you answered the smart gun from AVP I would have suggested the ability that if a smart gun is placed next to a ammo loader it can act as a self loading turret. Although after that comment I was going to give your pulse rifle quite a bit of praise as compared to the actual AVP mod as yours is significantly superior to it in my opinion. I mean seriously though a working ammo counter a relatively smooth dual fire mode 3D weapon with a working pump that looks and operates very well. (originally I was going to make a complaint but forgot that in the AVP universe the pulse rifle is a burst fire weapon).

Edit: Yes I am messing around with nightly builds still. Its just too much fun messing around with the new stuff. (I made a whole magazine loading facility in my base) But with the question above now I am going to see if this book thing works.

There's a pi button in the top right of the GUI, if you click it it will open the mad science wiki.

Right now working on sound effects for the machine as I write this. Like codebracker0 mentioned the little pi symbol in the upper right corner of every GUI will provide you a link directly to the wiki in your default browser.

I just thought the pi symbol was just an aethstetic.
P.S. The reason why I said check to see if the book thing works is because in build 135 I was about to do my first test of the announcement system as soon as I inserted a written book my game crashed. I was going to see if that happens still. Also considering a CnC machine can cut almost any material into particular parts I can foresee compatibility although probably less effecient than doing it by hand work with tinkerer's construct. (Hmm being able to get an iron hammer before even getting a smeltery going)

@DeWolf: If you hover your mouse over the pi symbol it even says "Help". The CnC machine would not be for cutting lots of different things at this time it is only used to cut the parts that make up the pulse rifle. You also would need the Thermosonic Bonder to even make the parts that make the CnC machine and that is a challenge in of itself.
As for the Voxbox we are still doing tests here, sorry to hear about the crash but that is nightly builds for you. The goal is we want to release this new version with all these new things on Friday so everyone can have fun this weekend.

@codebracker0: Please wait till Friday, we are finishing up the code for the CnC machine. We didn't expect there to be much interest in nightly builds. We want to push the new build tonight and hopefully will be available tomorrow for everyone to try out as new recommended build. We will have a full wiki article for the machine like we have for all the others we make with all the information you need to make it work.
To answer your question though, you would use a written book. The CnC machine needs to be programmed with what shape it should cut out of the iron. You would copy/paste this binary code into a book to create this schematic and then put that into the top slot. Once it has this information it uses the crushing part to flatten the block of iron and then uses high pressure water to cut it into the desired shape. We liked this method the most as it didn't require a complicated GUI, and you can save and reuse the books over and over again and title them what you want so it's easier to remember for you.

It's that time again! We got a brand new version of the madness with new gadgets for you all to play with this coming weekend. We have been working hard on these machines and items over the last couple of weeks and really think you all will enjoy them! The coolest one by far is the M41A Pulse Rifle which has been introduced to help players with killing some of the more aggressive critters that genetic engineering had a tendency to create. Added Clay Furnace which will create whole blocks from a single iron or gold ore. Requires to be lit on fire with flint and steel.
Finished implementation of pulse rifle. Working magazines, bullets and grenades.
Initial commit for Magazine Loader tile entity, fills pulse rifle magazines quicker than any Steve.
Initial commit for CnC machine. Cuts weapon components for Pulse Rifle out of iron blocks using high pressure water.
Added initial commit for VoxBox which is based on Black Mesa Announcement System from Half-Life 1.
Tweaked update checker to timeout after 500 millis if unable to ping Jenkins builder server to prevent unneeded lag on startup if server is down.
Updated client proxy with custom particle rendering functions, grants ability to spawn bubbles and splash particles when normal MC only spawns them in water.
Added custom explosion class that extends MC one to give more fine grain control over parameters of explosion and particles and sounds.
Added Binary -> ASCII and ASCII -> Binary functions for decoding written books for CnC machine.
Added MD5 methods into utility functions for fingerprinting purposes.

Pulse Rifle Grenades cause fire and explosion damage on collision, bullets have 1/100 chance of causing critical damage which will cause a very tiny explosion (explosive rounds are the best amirite?).
Abomination eggs can always be broken by grenades, 1/100 chance of a bullet doing it, very susceptible to fire!
Fixed bug where soniclocators would not be properly removed from location registry after destruction.
Added config option to change clay furnace cook time in seconds. Default is 420 (7 minutes).
Added more verbose startup messages during startup.

Version bump to 1.00.139 because one of our users discovered if you place an empty book into the VoxBox it would cause a crash. This has been quickly remedied!
VoxBox: Fixed divide by zero and bug with voxbox where it would not reset if input book was empty or has no valid dictionary words.
I've been getting this crash log lately with just about every version of Mad Science past 1.00.98. I've tested the game with no other mods installed, yet I keep getting this crash even after the official release (this happened on nightly builds, as well).

@Nnystyxx: Looks like the configuration file is bad. Just delete madscience.cfg and it will regenerate and everything should be alright after that. If the problem persists let us know so we can look into it. I cannot reproduce that crash here so not sure whats up.
Yes I know I was using a nightly build and yes I knew it was a work in progress. But none the less thanks for replying.
Also now a possible solution to crafting the ammo propellant (also forgive me if this has already been suggested and or for being dumb since I don't know where you list suggestions/ future plans) since the caseless round a solid block propellant perhaps a way to make the propellant part could be with a chemical synthesizer of sorts.
@OpelSpeedster: We tested older versions of Mad Science against 1.6.2 but have not done that since the move to Forge Gradle in the latest versions. You could give it a shot, but the mod itself might complain on startup that it wants 964 or higher.
Okay came up with some more stuff to make the idea of a chemical synthesizer more useful,
One thing is the ability to make materials such as plastics of sorts which could be used to build certain pieces of equipment. Which as you may also think that I was getting to was using these plastics as part of the pulse rifle's recipe and for the magazines and perhaps as an alternative to iron for certain items.
And now a question.
Are there any other AVP weapons you plan to add or something?
As for the future I could see us adding more weapons, we are all for diversity though. Would you like to see a particular weapon from a movie or another game done up in this manner?
Well the reason I asked and if you answered the smart gun from AVP I would have suggested the ability that if a smart gun is placed next to a ammo loader it can act as a self loading turret. Although after that comment I was going to give your pulse rifle quite a bit of praise as compared to the actual AVP mod as yours is significantly superior to it in my opinion. I mean seriously though a working ammo counter a relatively smooth dual fire mode 3D weapon with a working pump that looks and operates very well. (originally I was going to make a complaint but forgot that in the AVP universe the pulse rifle is a burst fire weapon).

Edit: Yes I am messing around with nightly builds still. Its just too much fun messing around with the new stuff. (I made a whole magazine loading facility in my base) But with the question above now I am going to see if this book thing works.
There's a pi button in the top right of the GUI, if you click it it will open the mad science wiki.
As for the CnC machine we will have a list of every type of part that it can create on the wiki once I actually get a chance to write it up. Right now working on sound effects for the machine as I write this. Like codebracker0 mentioned the little pi symbol in the upper right corner of every GUI will provide you a link directly to the wiki in your default browser.
I just thought the pi symbol was just an aethstetic.
P.S. The reason why I said check to see if the book thing works is because in build 135 I was about to do my first test of the announcement system as soon as I inserted a written book my game crashed. I was going to see if that happens still. Also considering a CnC machine can cut almost any material into particular parts I can foresee compatibility although probably less effecient than doing it by hand work with tinkerer's construct. (Hmm being able to get an iron hammer before even getting a smeltery going)
As for the Voxbox we are still doing tests here, sorry to hear about the crash but that is nightly builds for you. The goal is we want to release this new version with all these new things on Friday so everyone can have fun this weekend.
I got a question though, how does the CnC table work, do you put in a block of metal and chose the output with a button?
Or do you need to build a computer seperately?
Or do you need to get a program from a computer?
It could be a string of numbers to input?
To answer your question though, you would use a written book. The CnC machine needs to be programmed with what shape it should cut out of the iron. You would copy/paste this binary code into a book to create this schematic and then put that into the top slot. Once it has this information it uses the crushing part to flatten the block of iron and then uses high pressure water to cut it into the desired shape. We liked this method the most as it didn't require a complicated GUI, and you can save and reuse the books over and over again and title them what you want so it's easier to remember for you.
