Latest update for 1.6.4 is out with lots of cool new items and features!
1.6.4 beta 0.5.16
Change Log
Added:
+ BattleGear2 Support!
- Master Swords may only be held in the main hand (configurable), but allow an offhand weapon or shield
- Biggoron's Sword and the Giant's Knife require two hands to wield, so do not allow offhand weapons or shields
+ Boomerang: stuns enemies, snags an item as well as xp orbs, and can activate all buttons and levers
+ Magic Boomerang: flies twice as far, does more damage, and can pick up multiple items
+ Deku Leaf: Whisk enemies away with a powerful cyclone, denude trees, or use it to parasail around
+ Hover Boots: Sprint to dash across chasms, liquids, ice, or slow sand.
Changed:
- Heavy Boots now provide maximum knockback resistance
- Grass drops can now be acquired with the boomerang, whirlwind, and other effects
Fixed Bugs:
- Thrown bombs would revert to standard bombs if the game was exited before it exploded
- Thrown ceramic jars would not retain their item if the game was exited before it landed
- Several other projectiles were not saving all their data
- Keese were still able to move about when stunned (bats still can)
- Fairy greeting when acquiring Super Spin Attack had a typo causing chat message to fail
Special thanks to Hunternif for contributing the epic whirlwind particle effects, making it look awesome. The Deku Leaf would not have been possible without his help (well, it wouldn't have looked nearly as good), so be sure to give him a big thank you if you see him around.
Also thanks to the BattleGear2 team for supplying an API and working hard to make it easier to work with. They've put up with lots of pestering from me, and as soon as an updated version of their API becomes available I will be using it to try my hand at adding shields. For now, there is no way to test the code from within Eclipse using their API which means any time I want to try something, I have to run through the whole recompilation process and fire up normal Minecraft, and that is very time consuming. Anyway, they have been very helpful in providing support so far, so thanks again to those guys.
Fairy pools are only found in secret rooms, not just out and about. They are most frequently found in mountainous regions.
Hey can you tell me if your adding masks or not because I can't find the post and it sounds like a good idea anyways thanks for reading
I do plan on adding masks eventually, but only if someone sends me the art for it. I'm not much of an artist and to be honest, I don't think the masks are really worth spending the time it would take for me to make them (as in the art, because it takes me way too long to make). Maybe it's just because I don't really care for the masks personally, as I kind of found it annoying having to switch forms all the time in Majora's Mask...
There is a bug with BG2, th hero bow don't work when BG2 is installed.
I've tracked down the issue and notified the BG2 team about it, as it's caused by them handling all bows in their arrow nock / loose events even if the bow isn't trying to use their quiver API, so the Hero Bow's own code is overwritten and canceled by BG2. I can probably think of a hackish way to fix this by intercepting the event after BG2 has done their thing, but hopefully they will fix it on their own and that won't be necessary. If they haven't fixed it by the time I put out the next update, I'll probably resort to such a method just so it works for now.
1.7.2 Update 0.1.2 is out, including the boomerang and other features from 1.6.4 version 0.5.16, plus lots of bug fixes.
Change Log
Added:
- All features that were included in 1.6.4 version 0.5.16, excepting of course those related to other mods (BG2)
Fixed Bugs:
- Keese did not disappear when game difficulty set to peaceful (not yet fixed in 1.6.4 v0.5.16)
- All bugs that were noted as fixed in 1.6.4 version 0.5.16
- Bomb bag rendering as totally grey if a damaged stack preceded its position in the inventory
- Hero Bow only able to shoot vanilla arrows
- Slingshot seed impact sound was not working
- Hookshot sound upon impacting a block was not working
- Leaping blow impact sound was not working
- Sword Beam impact sound was not working
- Unbreakable blocks could be destroyed by explosions
(caused by vanilla bug sending wrong x/y/z coordinates when getting explosion resistance)
wow, its only been a few hours & you've already updated it? three words = crazy mod updating speed.
(still waiting for the ocarinas. still making the map.)

Just tell me what textures you need for these masks. Recently, I have been brushing up on my pixel art skills, and could help out on this task. However, I have only been practicing item textures, not armor textures....
Hey! Try to make the Hylian Shield Work Like the BG2 Shields
Hey! Try reading the posts and you'll see I've already mentioned I will be using their API for the shields as soon as it becomes easier to work with. It's even on the very first post of this page...

Well, the 1.7.2 version was already finished yesterday, I just didn't have time to recompile it and give it a test run before I went to bed.

Whichever masks you want to see first. The armor textures all you have to do is copy the leather_layer_1.png from Minecraft's textures/armor/models/ folder and edit the section for the helmet. You can even extend the helmet down to cover the entire face, like I did partially for the Hawkeye Mask.
ok, so far i've added 2 buildings & the great deku tree might come last (since its the biggest of all the structres.)
btw if you plan on adding some horrifying mobs on your mod then, i suggest watching nicobbq's video on the top 10
horrifying moments. (or characthers.) (sorry if i seppled characthers wrong.)
btw a suggestion.
can add a mode in the world options. heres what i'm trying to say.
1. go to world type & go to "zelda story mode"
2. then hit customize then you can choose a story to play.
3. ex. hit "zelda story mode" then you choose a story like majora's mask, ocarina of time, etc. then play!

Story mode is what custom maps and "Adventure Mode" already accomplish, not something that is typically added in by a mod.
I suggest you make a map for each of the Zelda games that plays through each of their stories, that way all the characters and locations can be added in as well, greatly facilitating the telling of said story. As I've said before, I will be more than happy to host links to your maps on the main page.
coolAlias, I tried making the true master sword but I couldn't, there's no master ore block to find and mine, and you need that for the tempered master sword, and when I checked there is no tempered master sword at all, so Its impossible to get the true master sword.
Has this not been implemented yet or is it a bug?
I also found many treasure chests and I couldn't find a single key, and because of that I can't make any use of this mod, and I know skill orbs are rare, but seriously, I killed non-stop and spent hours killing mobs, and nothing dropped. I really like this mod but it just needs a little tweaking.

I'm glad you like it, but if you find anything not to your satisfaction, I suggest you do the following:
1. Open up the zeldaswordskills config file with notepad; it is located in your .minecraft/config/ folder.
2. Change the settings as you see fit to make drops / items more or less common; you'll be surprised how much that can change your gaming experience.
Also, keep the following in mind:
1. Skill orb drops are GREATLY affected by Looting; each level of looting adds 0.5% to your chance, so you can quadruple your chances of getting orbs by using Looting III. You should get an orb dropping about once every 50 or so mobs that way, which I think is pretty common.
2. Master Ore DOES exist, but it's not an ore that you can find as a block - it drops randomly while mining for IRON, and again your chance of getting that to drop is greatly affected by looting, which I know people typically don't use while mining iron.
3. I don't know where you were checking, but the Tempered Sword is right there in the creative tabs for Zelda Combat items. There are no crafting recipes for any of the swords.
4. Keys, what keys are you talking about? I assume Boss Keys. Those can only be found in locked chests, for which you need a small key, and can only be found in the same biome that the associated Boss Dungeon is in. You'll just have to keep looking, and take a closer look at the Configuration settings.

Well when I read on how to get true master sword, it said you must have the master sword, master ore and have a blacksmith temper the master sword with the master ore to make the tempered master sword, then bathe the tempered master sword in the three sacred flames to make the true master sword.

Yes, that's right, so what's the problem you're having? You have to mine lots of iron to find the master ore, and it also shows up occasionally in boss chests.

The problem is there is no sword called tempered master sword.
Thanks for letting me know, I'll check it out.
