Installation:
1. Install forge using the forge installer.
2. Go to %appdata%/.minecraft.
3. Now if you have run the game with forge you should see a mods folder.
4. Inside that folder put the .jar file installed from this site. If you are using several versions of minecract I suggest putting it inside a folder named "1.6.2" or "1.6.4" as that makes forge only using it if it is in the correct version.
5. Start up minecraft.
Same goes for server side.
Compatibility:
This mod has a configuration file so that you can easily change the ids for every block and item as well as it is using forge so it should pretty much be compatible with any mod out there.

Put out all the pictures so the topic is all done. This is quite a simple mod and is just meant for aestethics. A alternative to the vanilla fences, as well as some ways to get more sticks out of logs. You can still make planks in the regular way, but if you want I can provide a config with the mod that gets rid of regular recipes.
A very simple yet cool mod. I had an idea.Since you went and basically made a sawmill that we use to make planks to craft items could you also make something for the ores? It could be called the smeltery and you would put the ores into it then you would get the liquid form of the ore then you could have another machine called the molding machine it which you put the liquid metal in and you would get the ingots out then you would craft your regular items. Good mod any way and it's going right in my mods folder.Keep up the good work.

Glad you liked it. It was supposed to be a simple mod as I usually do a lot bigger ones and I just messed around a bit. The smeltery and the molding machine is both possible for me to make, so I might make a mod for that as well. I want to keep this quite simple though so I don't think I will add it to this one.
this look interesting, what is the recipe for sawmil?
also, is it going to be a problem if you disable woodplanks recipe and start a new map, cause you wont be able to craft wooden pickaxe at start.

Can't believe I actually forgot to post the recipe of the sawmill, I will put it out as soon as possible. As for the disabling I will just make a different recipe so that you get plank in stead of vanilla planks from logs just a little bit less than from a sawmill. Or maybe being able to craft wooden tools with the mod plank instead of vanilla planks, the opportunities are endless.
I think in the next update I will make it so that 1 log will give you 4 plank instead of 4 planks. This will make the game a little bit harder, but as the game is now it's pretty easy to get wood either way. What do you think?
What do you mean when you say 1 log would give you 4 plank instead of 4 planks? As it is now 1 log gives me 16 of your mod planks. Also would it be possible to make the woodcutter place items into a chest that is next to it? I loving the mod so far though.
Interesting, but is the plank-to-stick output purposely higher than plank-block-to-stick output? With the plank block, you can turn a log into 8 sticks, while with the wood cutter and plank items, you can convert a log into 30 or more sticks.

What I meant is that instead of getting 4 vanilla planks from putting a log in a crafting table, you get 4 of my modded planks instead. Of course I won't implement this if it's not wanted. I might have a config choice as well so you can choose if you want to have it like that or not. I could take a look into it, but I won't promise anything just yet.

Yes, the plank to stick is purposely higher than usual because it's supposed to be sufficient to use this way of gathering wood and sticks, as well as it actually costs coal/charcoal (well basicly any type of fuel) for you to get them.
any thoughts on having the woodcutter place items in a chest?
Hi, I searched around a bit and found a way to make the hopper take the output out if it is beneath the block and from the hopper into a chest. Interested in that?

That would work. I tried using buildcraft pipes but they wouldnt draw from the output slot and you get so many planks from your mod you need to watch the machine because it fills up so quickly. So if it's not too much trouble to work something out i'm sure other people will find it helpful too. Thanks.

On the update link i'm getting a 404 page not founf error. Can you fix that please.
Yeah, sorry about that a guy from curse forge rejected the file for some stupid reason. Said it was because I tried to upload several files seperatly instead of all of them inside a zip file. I had everything in one single .jar file though so I don't see the reason why he did so.

As is just like you do regularly.
Well, I don't know really. Only thing I know is that it is my work of art which usually doesn't look that good.

Added the possibility for hopper automation.
