How can I tell what my affinity is? In the compendium it talks about the HUD or an Occulus, but neither of those show current affinity, as far as I can tell.
I'm also having problems with AoE spells. It would be nice to have some clarified guidelines for creating spells. Not a cheat sheet, but maybe a few examples and some hints.
If someone could post an image the result that would be nice that would be nice (i can't right now im in a library and i have no time to do it sorry)

AoE spreads whatever the next damage type or effect is.
So Projectile + AoE + Dig , will dig in 3 different sizes based on casting mode,
1x1 on diminished
3x3 on normal
5x5 on augmented

Have you thought about affinity-specific bound swords? Maybe at a certain depth your bound sword looks like your affinity. A light, slim sword for air, a heavy broadsword for earth, ect. Purely aesthetic, if you don't like it don't waste your time.
Would you be willing to expose some config options to set the basics of the mana/magic level system. I'd like a harder curve for gaining magic levels, mana costs, etc. Is that possible?

Out of curiosity is there going to be retro world gen for essence lakes and any other world gen you are putting into 1.1? I would like to know as my GF and I are waiting until 1.1 to start server run together as we don't want to progress then start over if there isn't retro genning.
1. Would you consider bringing back the arcane empowerment table, perhaps with different mechanics? Perhaps allow us to change levels into orbs, in addition to getting them from bosses? 20 levels for a blue, 25 for a green, 30 for a red, or something?
2. On multiplayer, when I try to turn witchwood into halfblocks or stairs, it creates oak half blocks or planks. This doesn't happen in single player, only on a server. In single player, I can create witchwood halfplanks and stairs no problem.
3. Suggestion for a modifier: flare or light particles like a firework. I would like to make a spell like a flare gun, firework or like Harry Potter universe's green sparks/red sparks spell. It would be nice to add to a projectile spell and that spell would leave a trail of sparking lights (perhaps color could be changed if you have unlocked that perk) and an AoE version would create minecraft style fireworks.
Hey Mith, is it possible we could get customizable armor? I mean I like the battlemage armor design and all, but I would be lying if I said I don't want to ride a black horse with black robes and a Nature Guardian's Scythe. =P
Hello! I made a server two days ago and everytime I place a block in creative it just turns into the block I had in my inventory slot that I put it in, or if I just put it in without anything there before it, it places and turns into air. Please help anyone. Please.
I don't know the technical limitations but what I would really like to see is that the Color talent affected the spells more. For example that the ignition component actually caused colored fire in the world.
I am in desperae need of help. I loved ARS Magica since the beginning when it was simple scroll making, spell firing fun! But now this sequel made it too difficult for me. For one thing, What is a nexus? It's not a block apparently, and from what I heard, it's a structure you need to build. Please help me and give me the steps or a picture of a complete one (both would be very appreciated) to build one because I have no clue on how to do it, also the book doesn't teach me how to make a nexus (or it does, and I didn't find it, and in that case, please tell me where it is)
Another thing, what is the rarity of Vitnium ore? Is it as frequent as Gold? Or Iron? cause I can't find any, and I dug to the point I found Iron, but no Vitnium.
Also, what do the crystal phails do? I saw in creative inventory that there is essence from every mob, even those that are from other mods, so how do you gather them? Do you need a specific weapon, or a needle? And how do you craft them?
And finally, keep up the good work. I may not understand how the mod works, but the fact I see so many different items, spells, skill tree (!) and blocks means that there is so much that this mod can offer, I just wish I knew how to build a nexus (i don't care about the affinity, I just want to know how to build one)

DragonSpitter... the book you have to make to even start learning spells that's shown on the first page of this topic explains literally (almost) everything you'd need to know about the items in this mod including how to craft all the nexus types. It's a structure; click on the tab and it'll show you all the structures and the materials that can be used.
Vinteum is uncommon, but I find it on a regular basis whenever I go mining. The fact you haven't found any yet I find... odd. Not sure what to tell you there sir.
Hey mithion. i logged into the server i play on to find hundreds of blue slimes inhabiting my area. Its chunkloaded by a chickenchunks loader and is in a desert and plains biome. not sure what is doing this but hopefully you can help

Is it me or are Beam spells impossible to use? Fire them for half a second and they max out the burnout meter. A simple "Beam -> Magic Damage" with no other effects on it has an enormous base cost of 32/t. A "Beam -> Fire Damage -> Damage x3" costs a ridiculous 200+/t.

Can you make a special thing for the first Christmas of your updated mod. Perhaps it could add some kind of snow ball spell component that shoots an HD snow ball when used.?

Beam mana cost is getting halved in the next update. Conversely I think projectile might be getting a slight nerf somewhere.
